I stayed at this Hotel in January 2017, it is or was under refurbishment , so was not doing Breakfast, The Staff were polite very helpful and explained everything that was nearby. I have booked to go again and this is when the Hotel should be fully up and running and I am looking forward to going , The rooms are a good size with nice comfortable beds and well stocked with tea and coffee. Nothing is to much for the staff to help.

We stayed at The Swan over Christmas and were lucky enough to stay in a River Suite, we managed to get this at a discounted price as they are currently undergoing a refurb. The room was so nice, very spacious and very luxurious. The bath and shower were amazing. The village itself is lovely too. We popped into Goring and dinner at The Catherine Wheel and then onto John Barleyman for a drink, also the Miller, all 3 pubs were friendly. We had a great couple of days, would definately recommend. ... Read more

We stayed at this hotel as I'm a big George Michael fan and wanted to go and pay my respects in person. This is a beautiful hotel right on the river, and our very large room had it's own patio area overlooking the river. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel, we have even booked a return for the summmer. We were still warned the restaurant may not be open but that's not a problem as there are plenty of resturants within walking distance

The rooms were dog friendly almost brand new and excellent size. Highly recommended for the cost. The bar lacked a little character but there are plenty of other places to drink and eat nearby. I would definitely go back if in the area.

Booked 2 nights here over Christmas. The hotel is being extensivley refurbished. We were warned in October that there would be no restaurant or kitchens over the Christmas but this was not a problem to us. We were just visiting family and needed somewhere to sleep. The rooms are all new and furnished well although I prefer carpet to the hard floors. I have travelled to USA and Australia and Europe and I must say the Shower was the best I have ever used. There is a small cafe in the grounds of th... Read more

Room and bathroom was a good size and very clean. Get a room with river view if possible as waking up to the view is great. Currently undergoing refurbishment it was difficult to find the entrance when we arrived on foot at night so some signage would be good! Only gripe was there was no breakfast included in the £140 per night rate. You had to use The Boat cafe attached and this was full on Sunday morning.

We stayed 2 nights in 3 rooms in the new part of the hotel. Rooms look nice but when you look closer you find lots of imperfections lots of cobwebs and dust, there's no carpet so you can see everything. I moved my bed and there was thick layer of dust but housekeeper was very helpful and he cleaned the floor straight away. We didn't have do not disturb sign, no soap bar, coffee maker took long time to heat up, armchair still had the wrapping on around the back bar (room 48). Breakfast choice wa... Read more

This was meant to be a special weekend meeting up with old friends, sadly both men now having Parkinson's. Although having booked weeks ahead there was no mention at the time of booking that the restaurant would be closed for 6 months!!!!! We cancelled the reservation as no way could the men be trapsed about looking for a place to eat. I also believe breakfast was off the menu as well. What a way to run a business, especially with the busy Christmas period coming up. It would have been better to... Read more

We never got to stay in the hotel so I cannot comment on it but I can comment on the very poor customer service. I e mailed the hotel in mid-September to ask about booking two rooms for this coming weekend (Friday 21 to Sunday 23 October 2016). No reply. E mailed a chaser several days later. No reply. So I booked via booking.com. Then I got a reply from the hotel to my first enquiry of many days before saying they did have rooms available. I replied that I had booked through booking.com. ... I've stayed at the hotel numerous times at least once per month and the refurbished rooms remain some of the best I have ever stayed in. The views of the river and associated wildlife are fantastic. The gym is well stocked with new equipment. My only issue this time around is that the restaurant is shut for refurbishment which I was not told about when I booked so having arrived late evening I was very disappointed to not be able to eat there. I also wanted to get a takeaway to eat in my room bu... Read more
