Very central right beside the Oracle. Cheapish hotel, good Indian restaurant in the hotel, friendly staff Not a five star hotel but safe and clean Could do with a bit of paint here and there No lifts, if staying on upper floors need to be OK on your feet

My company has offices in Reading so colleagues at work have always given mixed reviews about this hotel. Some really like it, some don't! Everyone has praised the wonderful colleagues. I stayed here for one night before a meeting in the area. I had slight difficulty finding the hotel as there is another hotel which is now closed with a similar name just outside if reading which seemed to cause confusion when asking for directions. In fact it is actually only 10 minutes from Reading Station. Hot... Read more

Food quite good but served on cold plates. Nice roast lamb, but boiled new potatoes and not roast as in menu. Other veg OK. Plates put out, one assumes for bread rolls. No bread rolls, have been served on previous occasions. May have been for cheese and biscuits although this was had by a minority of people. No coffee cups on the table and had to be brought in resulting in slow coffee service. Table condiments had to be asked for. Service polite and helpful but poorly organised. Same problems as... Looked at several hotels in the Reading area and as I was only staying one night this hotel ticked all the boxes. Central Location Easy to find Free Parking (practically impossible in Reading) Reasonable Rates Breakfast included Upon arrival it was clear that there is a lot of work underway to modernise and freshen up this old building. The staff were easy going and friendly. There is a very strong smell of the Indian restaurant throughout the hotel but as someone who loves this smell I found i... Read more

The positive first :the bathroom was clean. That's all. The smell was awful. I don't know if to blame their Indian restaurant (which was pretty ok to eat) or bad ventilation but by the morning it made me feel sick. The beds we're foldable and uncomfortable and we experienced a rude attitude from the receptionist. Finally too too expensive! It was at a price of a decent 4* hotel

Stayed in May 2016. Staff really very helpful, room clean and tidy, bathroom clean, bed comfortable and most important, I got a good night's sleep. The Hotel is a bit of a warren of passages and stairs, presumably converted and adapted from a building with other use. Parking 'interesting' but I managed to park within 20 feet of the entrance. Décor a little bit tired but hey-ho ...... For the price.....Recommended!

As a solo female traveller, the welcome I got made me feel very safe, knowing that a 24 hour front desk was on hand. The room was clean and comfy and I got a good night's sleep! Nice breakfast too. It is a budget hotel but one I would use again.

I took my wife away for the weekend, very clean and comfy bed and room is clean. We would stay here again but not use the royal tandoori restaurant again as the customer service is rubbish. Just general chat would be nice.

This hotel is centrally located within easy walking distance of the station and all the main attractions. We foolishly decided to drive and battled with Reading's one way system. After half an hour, and with help from the hotel receptionist, we finally found the hotel car park. The hotel is an old building and the three rooms we booked were all different shapes reflecting the conversion of old rooms to accommodate en suite facilities. All were clean and there were none of the smells from the res... Read more

Stayed here for a night on Saturday the 23rd, after reading the mixed reviews we were a bit apprehensive and considered booking elsewhere however we thought it was worth a try for such a cheap price. The service was friendly and the staff very helpful. The air conditioning was broken but a fan was provided which worke... Read more

My trip to reading was last minute, so not much to chose from. Check in was easy, my room was very tired and over looking the main road so very noisy too. The bed was comfortable, but the remote to the tv didn't work and as it was very warm and stuffy I had to use the fan supplied, which had wonky feet and kept falling over. I asked to move to a quieter room and was given one at the back. Breakfast was ok but didn't return for 2nd morning. The remote worked and had a much better fan. However the... Read more

Friendly reception. Car parking on site but small spaces. Double room good size, comfy bed. Clean. Room was warm and air con unit didn't work. Clean bathroom. Adequate bathroom. Was noisy during the night, sounded like building work. Breakfast was good and staff helpful. Overall good hotel in great location for Reading. Good value for city centre

Located in the centre of reading, Quality hotel is less than a 10 minute walk from the train station and the Oracle shopping centre. Check in was very rushed, I was made to pay, given the key then sent to find my own room. The corridors to the rooms are like a maze, some additional signs and arrows are needed. I paid £45 for a standard single room with breakfast for 1 night. The room was basic and clean, however parts of the room were in need of tlc. The carpet had various stains and the show... Read more

Hotel also very noisy during night, people coming and going at all times!!! Hotels in UK are surprisingly costly, I spend around 60 pounds a day to stay here. The hotel provides amazing brunch. The people working at the reception are mostly indians and quite helpful. The rooms are cozy and clean. Only few rooms contain a bath tub.

Service generally very good, free breakfast when you stay and you get what you pay for for a budget hotel. The hotel is clean and hospitable, it isn't luxury and I do think they should adjust their check in / out times. It's a great place to book if you're just visiting Reading and aren't looking for the hotel to be the main feature

Positives: fairly clean rooms, quiet for a good nights sleep, comfy bed Negatives: There's a car park but with only about 8 spaces so you'll not get a space unless you get there at the crack of dawn, there's a euro park across from the hotel car park which was £3 overnight, very dated rooms, very dated decor in hotel, hotel corridors and room smelt fusty, downstairs smelt awfully of Indian food as there's an Indian next door, al... I had an event in Reading last Friday night so needed a hotel room. I didn't spend much time in the hotel but the check in process was quick, the staff attentive and the room clean and comfortable. In the morning I had the buffet breakfast that was available. There was a reasonable selection with the waitress taking specific orders for eggs. If you are looking for a place to get some sleep that includes breakfast at a reasonable price, this place has to be considered.

The main drivers for me booking at the Quality Hotel were a) location and b) price. Unfortunately I now wish that I had invested an extra £20 and stayed elsewhere. The hotel has an Indian restaurant attached to it and while the food was very tasty there, unfortunately it meant that the entire hotel smelt like an indian restaurant. The hotel is on a good location but overpriced for what is on offer. The hotel has an Indian restaurant attached to it My room was on the 1st floor but was unfortunately very hot on top of the kitchen area of the restaurant. had to leave the fan running all night. The worst aspect was the WiFi which keep dropping out and it was only good if you happen to use it at 2:00 am!

Well positioned hotel on a quiet street . Warm welcome by helpful staff. Lovely aroma from the Indian restaurant that was part of the hotel. Room was clean, functional , nice bed and a great shower. It was a bit warm and stuffy in the room but ,having not looked till the morning ,we missed the air conditioning unit!! Breakfast was exceptional everything you could want !! The hotel boasts it has a carpark and also an overspill carpark and that parking won't be a problem, yet it very much was. We arrived around 9pm and both car parks were full but only hold about a dozen cars each anyway. We were then faced with being stuck without parking at 9pm on a Friday night with our 4 month old baby and all of his paraphernalia. I was working in Reading and the office put me here for a couple of nights. Yes there is a slight odour of Asian food - personally I love a good curry so was not bothered in the slightest. The staff were really helpful and very friendly, the food is excellent and the location is pretty good (a couple of minutes on foot to the train station).
