Perfect hotel if you're looking for a sperm donor. Pulled back the covers on the bed to realise someone had shot their load all over the duvet. Asked for a replacement, came back the next day to find the same stains. Food terrible also, the French cuisine on the menu is omelette and chips, just about sums my stay up.

Booked online easily enough - quick check in but not a place I'd hurry back to. Room was clean with coffee facilities and a good shower. Many contractors vans in the car park which reflects the value if booked in advance. I didn't and would say it is quite overpriced. In need of a renovation - as other reviewers have mentioned. Didn't use the bar or breakfast which is just one big open 'space'. Staff were pleasant and helpful

Very nice comfortable hotel and rooms. I am here on business but would gladly book to stay here if I were on a social visit to Reading. Friendly staff. Good atmosphere. Well cooked breakfast. Nice bar and dinning area.

Booked two double rooms. Our room was ok and clean bit old fashioned. No toiletries in bathroom only small bar of soap and curtain shower had seen better days as well as shower. Radiator did not work in room good job I took warm pj's. Second room was even worse bath had paint coming away and all rusty and also shower curtain seen better days. Kettle needed de-scaling that was after the first got replaced as didn't work. Staff were friendly on reception. Breakfast not worth £9.50 more like £5... Read more

Stayed for one night, the room was fine, bed and pillows were comfortable, although a rusty shower curtain and no air conditioning was a surprise. There was little (none that I could find) choice for vegetarians in the restaurant so it was lucky I ate in a nice place in town. Breakfast could have done with a veggie sausage and there were no menus on the table so when the waitress asks you what you want and you look baffled she can produce the menu she has under her clipboard, I wonder why it's ... I stayed for one weekend night only so was warned in advance restaurant would not be open but Beefeater across the road so no problem. I didn't order breakfast as I was leaving early. No contractors in sight and no smokers hanging around. I had my dog with me who was welcome in my room and the close proximity of glorious Prospect Park was an unexpected bonus. The so-called single room was clean and spacious with a double bed and fresh cotton bedlinen. Tea and coffee making facilities and a windo... Read more

Stayed on Business Sunday Night through to Friday morning. Given room 306 (top floor) which had a double and single bed along with a balcony with views over the main road. The road noise didn't affect my sleep but I don't think you could leave a window open if it got very hot - no air con in room. Main room was clean but the balcony definitely needed a clean and slap of paint. The balcony door had no key to lock it but as I was on the top floor it didn't bother me but I wouldn't have left any va... Read more

I don't complain but have to warn others. Booked 2 non smoking rooms but were allocated smoking ones and one room that hadn't been cleaned. Granted they were changed on questioning. There was one person managing both the reception and bar area and seemed happy enough to serve 3 clearly intoxicated males last night. Final straw was when one of these individuals vomitted over the bar area. Not recommended.

Pleasant, informative reception staff. Nicely furnished hotel. Clean bedroom and bathroom with plenty of toiletries. The bedroom was quite hot, no aircon and it was only possible to open the window a fraction. Not a lot of parking, but we got a space ok. Looked like some of the grounds had been sold off for housing. The gardens needed a bit of a tidy up. We didn't eat in the hotel so can't comment on the food. We had one drink in the very quiet bar - we were the only people in there. All in all,... Read more

Despite reservations about a second visit, we found it much to our pleasure and delight. Much improved service, quality and a willingness to deal with any niggles, such as bath plug chain (broken) and toilet flush not working - all dealt within a speedy, short time. House keeping fast and efficient.

Hotel is nothing special to look at, looks more like dated apartment block. Hotel inside is very clean, staff are friendly and helpful, room was clean and modern with plenty of space. Only downside was that there was not any Tea or Coffee making facilities in the room. But I guess that reflects on the price . Nice comfortable bed.

What can i say ive stayed in plenty of places but thought this place was goin to be great but turned up to a building site. The amount of bird crap on the window ledges and floor outside the bedrooms tje food was not even edible and what can i say about the reception staff crack a smile and actually interact with payomg customers would be a start. Wont stay again..

This was a last minute booking so didn't have time to check the reviews. If I had then I would have slept in the car. When you arrive you are greeted by what looks like a 1980s apartment complex or a upmarket old folks home. Parking is a joke and the over flow parking is around the back, this is when you discover the place is still a building site. On checking in it took 10 minutes for a member of staff to appear, who then informed my team that we had not been allocated the rooms we had book... Read more

After reading some reviews we were a little apprehensive! However on arrival we were surprised, it wasn't as bad as we'd expected! In all honesty it wasn't the cleanest of places - aside from a dirty bed throw/decorative pillows (that could be taken off the bed), a dirty tea cup (we shared the clean one) mild mould issue in one corner and the bathroom could have done with some TLC especially as white shower curtains do stain after time and taps are subject to limescale if not thoroughly cleaned,... My choices were limited as Reading seemed to be busy that night, but next time I'll check the reviews before I book. I dined in the dining room listening to a group of builders trying to work out how they could change their booking,"Even a Travelodge would be better...." To be fair the room was clean and obviously recently refurbished, but missing light bulbs, and batteries in the tv zapper. The staff tried, but there was so much to make up for..Shan't be going back

Stayed at this hotel for 1 night due to family commitments in Reading . On arrival hotel looked as though it could be updated a little . But when entering we found it to be both spacious and clean and tidy. The guy at reception was polite and check in was both quick and efficient. Our room was on 2nd floor and when went into room it was smart and clean and bed was very comfortable . We went down to breakfast next morning and had a full English breakfast which was cooked freshly it arrived at our... Read more

The title says it all really - few garlic button mushrooms thrown on a plate with handful of lettuce, tough sirloin steak done med/well rather than med/rare as asked. To be fair, they didn't charge for the main course, but nonetheless, I won't be back. Room a bit dingy, bath has enamel scraped away in places. I think I'd rather pitch a tent & stay in that. Staff on front desk were pleasant and helpful though

Overall, this hotel is very poor. Cleanliness is average and feels like it is a construction site with work being carried out around the hotel. It is also full of contractors and builders staying and is more of a residence for such people. You usually struggle to park late evening too due to the amount of vans on site. Most of the staff do not acknowledge you or make you feel welcomed. Poor.

Waited for what seemed an eternity to book in because the receptionist was serving in the bar. Then when I went to the bar I waited ten minutes to be served because he was booking people in. They only had one glass of pinot left and blamed it on the races

We found staff friendly and helpful and our room was clean and comfortable. We did notice a slight smell of smoke but not anything bad. It was lovely to be able to stay with our dog in tow and he was made to feel welcome. It was good to have a big park so close by which we made the most of with a Harvester located in the midst as an added bonus. As we of course couldn't go into the restaurant with our dog we were delighted when a waitress trayed up a cooked breakfast for us so we could take i... Read more
