Stayed at the novotel for a Saturday night. Right in the city centre, ncp car park in 2 minute walk away. Stayed on the 12th floor gave us great views over Reading. Room was newly refurbished, comfortable bed, fridge, nice bathroom with both bath and shower. Free toiletries. Overall a great hotel, very reasonable cost and great central location

Best location you could ask in Reading. The hotel is good, rooms look new, friendly staff. The gym at the hotel is quite good, with new equipments. The only incovinience was that there were few electric plugs in the room, none next to the bed!

Very well positioned in Reading town centre, but not noisy. Friendly an efficient staff, I stayed in a twin room with my son and it worked out very well, good sized and comfortable beds. Good to step out of the slightly depressing town centre and have a modern shower and peace and quiet. I would definitely stay here again when visiting my children in Reading.

We stayed here for the convenience of its location. The hotel is kept in good condition. We weren't allowed to do an early check in because they only had "accessible" rooms available; however, hours later they ended up giving us an accessible room. Didn't understand that. Shower and sink were fitted for wheelchair users so not the most comfortable for people without the need of an accessible toilet. Staff was friendly. I liked the look and feel of this hotel immediately. On arrival the service was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, spacious and modern. The bed was very clean and comfortable and resulted in an excellent night sleep. The shower tube was broken which meant water ended up everywhere. I reported this to reception on checking out and they were very apologetic about this. I would definitely go back.

This hotel has a very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable staff team, the rooms are clean and well furnished. Excellent town centre location with plenty of amenities within walking distance and the Reading GWR main Rail Station is just around the corner with regular non stop trains to London. Three of us stayed for a very pleasurable 3 nights and had consistently good hearty breakfasts along with the odd good value bar meal. I stayed here to be within easy reach of all the pubs and clubs and bars in Reading. It is literally a wobbly wedged heel away from everywhere in reading. It really accommodates well for those stumbling back in in the early hours of 4, 5, 6am. My friend and I requested - and received adjoining rooms that are cleverly controlled by both people. It was competitively priced and we were pleased with the accommodation

I had a spacious, clean, disabled room on the 6th floor and everything in the room was A1 perfection. Pools, sauna, steam room, showers and changing facilities extremely nice, get a 9/10 from me. Dropped a point because I prefer there to be a member of staff within eye and ear shot of the pool, for safety when swimming alone, and there was no costume spinner. Only two gripes with my stay: 1. We were heading to Pembrokeshire from the Netherlands, and Reading was the perfect city in between. Our kids love Novotels (swimming pool & breakfast) and this Novotel didn't let us down. Great rooms (with a door in between to be private but also keep an eye on the kids), excellent swimming pool and very central in Reading - a lovely city with good shopping and a beautiful park. I did not stay on the hotel but a colleague did and we went for dinner and a pint or two to the restaurant. The food was good, the beer also and the price in order. The thing that makes me write this review is the fact, that I forgot to get a receipt for dinner but only noticed it a week later. Stayed this weekend - smart clean hotel - great location for shops, nightlife and station - parking not really a problem as only 5 mins away if that - smart clean rooms with all you need - staff friendly and helpful - well worth a stay and reasonable value - didn't test the restaurant or pool though.

Just everything you need... comfortable bed, great breakfast, swimming pool & spas (and I was the only one in the swimming pool when I went there), staff very kind, great location. I also had a nice dinner with soup, cheese and fruit, and you get good quality at a very reasonable price. Yes, I would say the quality-price ratio is excellent.

We stayed here last weekend for an extended family birthday. The hotel itself is well-designed and modern offering good value for the price paid. The swimming pool and gym were wonderful for family fun, turning an indulgent weekend into a healthy one! The location is ideal right in the centre of Reading. We took advantage of the parking offered nearby and the rooms were functional and clean, though there was a slight lack of space to leave stuff like keys, paper, mobile phone, etc. Also, the ke... The room I stayed on the 5th floor absolutely stank of cigarettes. The entrance to the bathroom was at the side of the bed, really bizarre layout indeed. Then the bar wouldn't take cash insisting on room charging only.

The hotel is very conveniently located in the city center, near the train station. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. I got a room in the upper floor with nice view over the city. Very nice, comfortable rooms and excellent food.

Stayed for one night, friendly receptionist and quick check in. Large clean room on a quiet floor. A minutes walk from the High Street and a little bit further for the train station. Overall a very pleasant hotel in a good location.

Had the pleasure of staying here for the third time. Brilliantly placed, just a two minute walk from the station and in the town centre. Rooms are spacious, clean and quiet. Staff are welcoming, so polite and happy to help. Ladies - the hairdryers are more powerful than those usually provided! By far the best budget hotel!

I stayed two nights at this Novotel. Nice and friendly staff. Very close to the train station and workplace. Minus was the carpet and no slippers available. The web reservation and check-out is a plus. Mist though the automatic invoice.

I recently spent the weekend here, attending a course which was held in one of the meeting rooms. My room was spacious, comfortable, well lit, quiet and spotlessly clean. There were several helpful features - a small fridge with the tea and coffee making equipment, the hair dryer plugged in to a convenient place, real coat hangers in the wardrobe, a large, very comfortable bed. The staff were helpful and always available. The meeting room was light and airy with good acoustics and comfortable ... Read more

I stayed here as I needed to be in the centre of Reading. The hotel was in a great location, being just around the corner from the Train Station. The staff were helpful. The room was clean and modern looking and everything worked well. I was on the top floor, where it was quiet and I had a good night's sleep.

I got to the Novotel very early in the day (before 9) and was able to check in. I was desperate for a nap after a red eye and the room was so dark and quiet and the bed was comfortable so it was no problem. The location of the hotel was great to wander around and find food and the breakfast was just right.
