Stayed for 1 night. Location is excellent for train station and the centre of Reading. Price excellent £39 for a twin room. Check in was fine, with friendly helpful staff, who put us into doubles as we booked twins, but some of us couldn't make it. The hotel was clean in general and nicely furnished for a budget hotel. The room was large enough, the bed comfortable and all the usual present such as tea and coffee. The TV was modern and wall mounted, very good for this standard of hotel.... Read more

I usually avoid Ibis hotels as I've had some bad experiences in them in various countries, but this one was very different. Comfortable, convenient (right next to the train station and reading centre), but it wasn't noisy or too busy. The staff were very helpful. The breakfast was pretty good for what we paid. I would definitely stay there again.

This is a comfortable, quiet hotel very close to the railway station. The free Wi-Fi works, the breakfast buffet was good and the staff helpful. I booked late so it was a bit expensive, but no more so than anywhere else of a similar level.

Great hotel for business stay near Reading station. Very clean & smart. Friendly helpful staff. Beds are very comfortable - i always get a good night's sleep. This is my preferred place to stay on business trips.

Biggest plus is staff - friendly and helpful, I've been even offered help when I accidentally overdone my toast at breakfast :) Downsides are: by default no iron in the room, no tissues available in the room, all in one washing liquid in the bathroom. If you don't mind the above the location is great.

Booked 3 days at a cost of £163, took a look at the hotel and room and then walked out without staying a night. Reception area and lift area depressing and dark. The room uncarpeted, poorly furnished, bathroom like a box, room poorly lit, room very small. Flooring particularly drab and the first time we have seen a hotel room without carpet. Corridor more inviting than the room.

Good hotel, nice decoration, comfortable bed. Good to visit the city. Only concern is the parking provided. its a little bit far from the hotel. with trolleys and rain its not a very comfortable walk. Staff very friendly.

Lovely reception staff, quick check in. Room has a soft comfy bed. Parking is a bit of a pain. Its around the corner on Gerrards St/Rd. Its £24 for 24hrs but the hotel can validate the ticket and the orice goes down to £12. Its around a 5-8min walk from Reading train station.

I have stayed here before on business but this was a family trip for a wedding. We booked three rooms. My son and girlfriend were arriving on the train from Newcastle for a quick change and off to the reception. The hotel is just a three minute walk from the station. Ibis made sure their room was available for a fast turnaround. The breakfast is excellent with a good range from a full English to fruit, cereals and pastries. The coffee is OK too, but there are the usual high street outlets close... Read more

This hotel is perfectly positioned being 10 minutes walk from the station and right in Reading centre. Even though it's on quite a busy road we found our room quiet with no noise from the surrounding location. The room itself is fairly small but well designed for a couple of night's stay. There is a small wardrobe area with six hangers and two shelves. It was sufficient for clothes for two people for two nights but would be too small for a longer stay. A desk and large comfortable bed fill the... Read more

From the minute we arrived the receptionists were very welcoming, friendly and attentive :) Nothing was to much trouble for the ladies so thank you! We stayed in one of the new rooms for the weekend and it was absolutely perfect! The overall relaxation, decor and cleanliness was second to none. I absolutely loved my stay. Thank you. I really found it hard to get myself out of such a clean, fresh and ultra comfortable bed! The pillows were really luxurious too. A 10/10 sleeping experience. ... Read more

I had a comfortable stay in this hotel. The hotel is located very close to the station and city center. The reception is very helpful and cooperative and have a smooth check in. The rooms are small but clean. The buffet breakfast in the hotel is also good . The thing that I missed is that the hotel don't have any gym.

We stayed for 5 nights, we were attending an event in Henley. Great place to lay your head, if you don't need the frills of a higher star hotel. Room was a good size, modern decor and ample storage space for storage, for a short stay. The hotel has a small bar in the foyer but there are lots of options for drinks, around the streets near the hotel. We didn't have breakfast, as we ate elsewhere. Staff were very friendly. Needed an overnight stay for two sets of adults plus one child. Location was convenient in Reading City Centre. However we wanted a family room - i.e. two adults plus a child in one room, but this was refused and we had to pay for a separate room for the child - i.e. three double/twin rooms all together. The rooms are adequate but very small, so perhaps the point in that Ibis cannot fit an extra single bed in a room, or maybe (as I suspect) they just want to maximise revenue and don't care ab... We stayed here while in Reading to see the Proclaimers in concert. It is five minutes walk from the station and a similar distance from the theatre. Check in was quick and simple. You can have a pint of lager in reception if you so wish, or go to one of the many nearby pubs. We crashed out post our night out and slept well. Check out time was a convenient. 1200. Good for a night out or stag do or suchlike.

Check in was quick and easy. It is a budget hotel but reasonably new and comfortable. The room is not too small and has a sort of shower pod in it. The one thing that really annoyed me was the shower has a tap with very poor temperature control. It goes from "not-quite warm-enough" to "screaming scalding death" with the tiniest movement of the handle, and unpredictable drops in pressure do the same. I found myself swearing at the shower. The breakfast is not included and I don't think it is wor... Read more

We had a comfortable bed here and the staff asked whether we wanted a high or low floor. Our room was on the 8th floor so we weren't bothered by street noise. The hotel is a bit "bare bones". Small towels, no top sheets, squeeze bottle combination soap/shampoo. Bright lighting in the bathroom-great for makeup but BRIGHT in the middle of the night.

Entered the hotel and was greeted warmly by the check in staff and they were efficient and helpful getting me a room with an iron as I had a shirt I needed to smooth. Got to my room and it was spotless and just as you would expect from this chain. Great central location to everything you need when staying in the area.

Great hotel, location ideal in town centre. Very reasonably priced. Wi-Fi free in rooms and very quick. Not noisy at all at night. Each room has cooling system with self-controls which was great with the hot weather. Only a ten minute walk to the bus and train station.

The Ibis hotel is very well located in the centre of Reading, the hotel is clean and the rooms well laid out with coffee and tea facilities. Staff are welcoming and professional and there is a small bar area. The only let down is parking is at an NCP and the cost overnight although subsidised is £12.

I stayed here for night as I was rowing in Henley that weekend. The hotel is very modern and contemporary, the service was very good and the room clean and spacious. It could do with a bit more character but given that it is part of the Ibis chain it would be difficult to achieve. Overall a very good stay and would definitely return if back in Reading or the surrounding area in the future.

Great location, comfortable and clean room, quick wi-fi and really great shower. Despite it being on a busy street it was not noisy and the front desk staff were very friendly. My only negative is that the (very close) carpark which was advertised as 'discounted' was quite expensive (£12 per day). I know this isn't IBIS's fault but I couldn't find anything online at point of booking as to how expensive it would be - just that it was 'discounted'. I stayed here on a Saturday night and had a surprisingly peaceful night's sleep, even though we were only three floors above street level (the hotel is right in the centre of Reading's principal nightlife area). The double room had everything you would expect for this sort of price range; the decor had a quirky yet cosy feel. Shower facilities were really nice and the bed was comfortable; staff were polite and helpful.

This hotel is OK if you manage to get a rate under about GBP80, but do not pay the much higher rates sometimes quoted. It is right on Friar Street in the centre of town. Buses to all areas of Reading pass outside the front door and the station and coaches to the airport are 2 minutes walk away. However, the hotel is not for motorists as private cars are not allowed in the Reading downtown area. Great for folks who can still use their legs!

Stayed here 3 nights as a base for legoland and Thorpe park. Pretty basic hotel staff friendly rooms clean however the famil room we had was Tiny. The room next door was much larger. With two teenagers it's was a nightmare. Breakfast didn't look appetising although it was free. Fire alarm went off twice due to people smoking in rooms. Hence average rating

Very welcoming staff. The Hotel is clean, tidy. Serves a really good breakfast. Room was very good, all you need for a short break. The location is 4 minutes from the Railway Station and easy access to the shopping bars and restaurants. The only downside is room was hot and opening the window let in the noise of an air conditioning fan and the revellers leaving the club at 3.00am

I is hotel was ok but too noisy. If it hadn't been for the disturbance throughout the nice it would have been a good budget option. Staff dealt with issue when reported but that was at 4 am after many hours of being woken up by people shouting, singing, banging doors. Staff dismissed the issue in the morning saying "yes, this is what happens at weekends". Also, there is no available parking although a reduction will be offered for up to 24 hours this includes one entry only so if you are coming... Read more
