Arrived to a reception where we had to ask questions about the hotel. No where nice to have twa and coffee. The tea and coffee point is like a canteen. Hotel isfor work team building only. It is not for family weekend away. Breakfast in room was awful. We had to call to see where it was. It was cold and we asked for toast. We were given plain bread not toasted and no butter. Cooked breakfast cold not very pleasant. Would not stay here again. Room was ok but hotel needs a refurb and attention to ... Read more

Room was fine , bed comfortable, inadequate lighting in bathroom, we fixed the very squeaky bathroom door with WD 40. Restauarant was a bad experience , food poor for lunch and dinner, inadequate staff to ensure that tables were cleared etc . Breakfast food was fine but 1st day ran out of coffee, plates. cups and butter on the buffet tables, 2nd day no maramalade. Very noisy in restauarant too

I would like to be able to recommend this hotel by I cannot find a single reason to do so. There are only 3 things a hotel has to get right for me a comfortable bed a decent shower and a tasty breakfast. In the case of Wokefield they can only manage one out of the 3. The bed was comfortable. The shower had 2 temperatures boiling hot and freezing cold, when I eventually found an uncomfortable middle temperature it quickly switched form Hoyle to cold at random intervals. I am currently staying at Wokefield Park for business. Dinner last night in the mansion house was very nice and I was served by Kim who looked after me very well. I struggle to enjoy an evening to myself but last night was really nice, all the staff were very friendly and the food was great. I would definitely recommend coming here whether business or pleasure. Hope you find this review useful. Thanks, Jonathan Corbett

Let's get this straight. This is not a hotel as I had perceived in the literature enticing me to stay. I had not read into the real meaning. It's a conference venue with rooms. It has none of the ambience of an atmospheric hotel with friendly service. This is a slick process orientated business focused on getting large groups of delegates, golfing societies, weddings and events throughout the door in as basic and efficient with the minimum amount of fuss as possible. It's a place run by accounta... Read more

I attended a long planned family wedding with most of the family staying at the hotel. Although I couldn't fault the hotel itself with its beautiful surroundings I found most of the staff lacked customer service skills ànd compassion and this slightly "tarnished" our stay. I do not appreciate being pressured to place a food order nor do expect to wait for a drink for some 15 minutes after starting my meal.

Well, I might as well start with a positive, then again I can't think of one. The hotel reception is not even signposted so I guess that was the start of things to come. This is by far the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in. The staff have not got a clue what is going on. Service is abysmal, used room service trays and bottles left in the corridor for 24hrs. Don't let the name fool you into thinking this is a very posh hotel. Yes, it's on a golf course but what a cold soulless place. Wouldn't recommend for a family and obviously frequented for conferences and the nearby BMW centre. Facilities are good but ambience non existent. Quite suitable for people on courses who use it as a hotel rather than enjoy the pleasure of staying in the hotel

Great venue and accommodation for the price. I have used this venue many times on business and leisure and am seldom disappointed. This time however the bar appeared to be completely mismanaged. I am willing to make allowances but when you are paying £18 for a round of 2 children's drinks and two adults drinks the service was disgusting. We returned here having stayed before a couple of years ago. We stayed in the main building this time and had 2 adjacent rooms. Both were clean, comfortable and fair-sized. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Swimming pool was lovely - we didn't use the gym this time but did last time. We played tennis, football and crazy golf - all on site. Would definitely return for a third time.

I stayed here on business with a number of colleagues. There are 2 parts of the hotel with their own reception areas but you can check in or out at either. Fortunately my room was in the Mansion House and not the Executive Centre that I stayed in a couple of years ago. The room there was tired beyond belief. My Mansion House room this time was clean and well appointed with a massive bed and a pleasure to stay in. However no hot water was available from either sink tap despite running them b... Read more

I thought i had booked to stay in the mansion house but when we arrived we were told we were staying in the Executive Centre. This had a very confused identity - it appeared to be a training centre, hotel, conference centre however we decided to make the best of it as the room was clean and a decent size for 2 nights. The breakfast was good with a really good hot and cold selection but the coffee was awful, there was a 24 hour coffee station in the atrium so we took coffee from there. On the s... Read more

I stayed here for a night as part of a company retreat. I was in one of the ancient rooms on the 3rd floor which were most probably the servants quarters in ancient times. The bathroom was a shocker... There is black mould along with layers upon layers of dried on dirt in the bath tub. The tub had quite a few deep black chips in it. The receptionists are very rude and were unhelpful in changing rooms saying that they were fully booked which I was not convinced about as most reviewers have a... Read more

Very impressive venue shame about the staff. We arrived and sadly the servers had crashed no fault of the hotel. Unfortunately this was when lot's of people were arriving and the bar area was packed. We ordered food and gave a table number why I don't know because it was a shambles I would say 7 out of 10 orders were wrong we ended up with 3 rounds of extra sandwiches none of which were ours and eventually gave up bearing in mind we were the first people in the bar 2 hours and hungry later. Beautiful rural residential conference centre and hotel. Great amenities; excellent staff with really good customer service skills; spacious and clean; beautiful views. Really great facilities. Stayed here last week for 2 nights for a corporate function. Used the bar on the first evening for a bar meal, good service although around £10 for a glass of wine is a bit pricey. The Sky meeting room was OK and there is plenty of coffee, tea and biscuits in break out areas. In the evening we had a function in the mansion house including a surprise guest and the hotel staff were very helpful in keeping that quiet and sneaking him in. I stayed recently for an event, which was very good and a good site, whilst a bit remote. The standard of food was good, service and staff, very average. I stayed in the Mansion House on the third floor, the room was clean but drab, a TV on tea wall, at right angles to the bed so you look at it side on and the shower had a part missing. It is clearly designed to run events with accommodation as a second thought.

Stayed for a couple of days to evaluate the facilities for a golf society event. I can say the hotel staff were excellent, the room was ok (but no heating on in November) food ok, but the golf course was not great for a golf society event. Far too many bunkers, most of them unnecessary, and we like to just play golf not spend all the time in massive bunkers. It was a shame as the location would have suited us.
