The position of the hotel on the Thames is superb and the rooms are large and very comfortable. We had dinner at the hotel, which was very good, unfortunately had to wait a long time to be served. Breakfast was excellent and service throughout our stay was very good. We will stay here again even though it is 15 minutes walking to the center of Reading. Free parking is a pro.

We stayed here 07/01/2017. When we arrived a wedding party were stood in reception, leaving hardly any space for us to get to the reception desk (still confused as to why they weren't told to wait in the large dining space located behind them). When getting to the reception desk at 2.25pm, we were told that we were too early to check in so wait (which we completely understood and were happy with), due to there being no space to actually wait, we moved over to the corner of the reception desk. We stayed for one night, meeting up with our granddaughter who also stayed over. The position of the hotel on the Thames is superb and the rooms are large and very comfortable. We had dinner at the hotel, which was very good, unfortunately spoilt by a large and very noisy wedding party who traipsed through the restaurant en masse to get to their function room; the hotel should address this problem and find a way to marshal people away from diners. The dining area is very spartan and, despite its... Read more

Everything was perfect room, location, service quality. Even when they missed it, they were very generous to accept it and even offer free services for their missed services. The best part of the trip, it had a wonderful view from room and hotel, besides the river

Stayed here after a long flight before driving home, hotel is very average nothing special but perfect if you just want a bed to sleep in, rooms do look in need of a refurb and definitely the bathroom did, good location for a couple of pubs and restaurants, and a good sized car park.

I've stayed here a couple of times this year. It is reasonably priced, clean and comfortable but would gain from some refurbishment. This is why I rate it average. The location by the river is good but not central.

We have stayed at this hotel several times & it is always excellent, breakfast is fabulous with lots of choice. The rooms overlooking the river are very quiet with a lovely view. Maria looked after us extremely well & nothing was too much trouble for her.

Stayed overnight for a charity ball the hotel was good on arriving we ordered lunch sandwiches and hot drinks them came quickly and the quality and size of the sandwiches for the price was brilliant , At the ball that night the three course meal was very good the standard of food was great and the service was of a very good standard with pleasant and helpful staff. The only downside was the room we were in room 165 next to the staff service lift and laundry shute and after a late night they star... Read more

Stayed at the hotel during a business trip for 3 nights. Was the first time I've stayed here, and one of the few hotels in Reading I haven't stayed at. Now it's clear why. To start with the restaurant: You need a level of patience that's unheard of. They take 20 minutes before they ask you what you want to eat. Then another 20 to get you the drinks. The food only comes after you make them aware that you're actually waiting for it. The staff is careless and you seem to be speaking with ghosts. T... Read more
