Room was clean and the hotel is in very good location. Staff pretty friendly. The worst thing was a breakfast. I have never eaten so bad English breakfast. On next morning decided just drink a coffee (very nice by the way) as there wasn't enough food for all guests.

Great staff - very friendly and helpful, room clean and tidy and breakfast reasonable. The snags - this is the only Hoilday Inn Ex[press we have stayed at that does not provide any food in the eveing - a limited menu would be well received (as at others) but having to go across the road to a Table Table associated with a Premier Inn, in pouring rain, rather took the edge off our stay. Noted that the shwoer curtain was too short and as a result the bathroom floor flooded and we had to use a tow... Read more

Convenient place to stay before taking the ferry. My room was spacious and comfortable, quiet, with a good matress and the typical HoInn Express bathroom - efficient, clean and good towels. Mr. Spencer (?) at the reception - you notice right away that he loves his job - was friendly and helpful in an outstanding way. Breakfast area not kept very clean, although there were hardly any people having breakfast.

Bed not comfortable. Room too warm and couldnt open a window for fresh air. I thought that was illegal in case of fire!!!! Felt like i had a winter duvet on me. Only 5 hours sleep ??????. Restaurant was good our waiter James was very pleasant and couldnt do enough for us. My friend didnt like her meal so they changed it. We couldnt have our original choice because they ran out. I normally stay in a bed and breakfast i dont think that will change. Staying here hasnt persuaded me to stay in ... Read more

From the outside this hotel may look uninviting, and if you turned away you might be forgiven. The hotel design looks a bit dated and the paintwork does looks like it could do with a bit of a freshen up. However step through the front door and you are greeted by a first class hotel. From reception to the breakfast room to the rooms themselves the decor is first rate, a very modern friendly hotel. The rooms are of course fairly standard, a standard which I think Holiday Inn Express do very well w... Read more

I was going to a wedding at nearby Quex Park, and the rest of the party were staying here, so I joined them. As expected, the service was good, courteous and prompt. The room was comfortable and had within it all that I needed. I did ask for more tea and sweeteners, and these were made available. As suggested by their in room advert - I also asked whether they had a pair of cuff-links my best shirt but that came up short. I did however blag a couple of paper-clips which satisfied the need!

Stopped here last night. If you want a 5 Star, all inclusive, luxury experience, with a pool, then this is not the place for you. If you want a good bed for the night, clean facilities, a decent breakfast and friendly staff who will look after you, then this is the right place. Kevin was really friendly and v helpful. Would stop here again in future.

I have stayed at Holiday Inn Express before and they are very good for sleeping in the night before or after a flight or a ferry. We were booked in for three nights with diamond coaches. This then is not easy with no drawers in bedroom for clothes etc and means living out of a suitcase but the room was clean bed comfy and a really great shower with nice fluffy white towels and friendly staff. I don't think an evening meal is usually available at this hotel but because we were a coach party we we... Read more

Stayed here a few years ago and returned last week for long weekend in the Thanet area. Rooms need a refurb as the sofa bed was broken and furnishings looking a bit shabby. Had to ask for clean cutlery and plates a couple of times at Breakfast. Seems like they only have a couple of people on shift at Breakfast and the poor things looked run off their feet! Bed was comfortable and had good nights sleep. Noticed that when maids had been in, cups in room had not been replaced. A bit expensive I thi... Read more

Hotel looked a bit tried on arrival. Arrived at reception, and was greeted (after she finished her conversation at the bar) the most timid receptionist. Was handed a welcome letter, not recognised as a Spire member. Made to make a pre-auth payment. Was not offered points or free drink either. My Room preferences are high floor, which I got, and a room away from the lift. Got the room physically opposite the lifts! The room was clean enough, but a shelf was missing just exposing a load of holes... Read more

Only enough teabags for one cup each, Disappointed no hot water on the last evening or in the morning before we left, had to boil kettle for water to wash. Hotel staff very pleasant and friendly. Recently stayed here for one night. Would definitely stay again if I was in the area. We got a good deal on the room using some IHG Reward points. Free parking and the included breakfast are great. The location is great for reaching areas around Thanet by car - we went to nearby Margate, Ramsgate and Herne Bay, and both were easily reached. We had a problem with our first room - the toilet was leaking waste water onto the floor. Surprisingly, there were apparently no other double rooms avail... Read more

One receptionist was busy and called a very timid young receptionist to serve me...barely spoke to me apart from asking for my credit card to pre authorise. Good value, good location (if it's near where you need to be!), clean and tidy. It's had a lick of paint since my last stay which has freshened it up somewhat. Breakfast is limited if you're expecting a "full" English, but there's more than enough for those of us who want something lighter. No complaints.

Stayed here for two nights at the end of our trip to the UK. Clean hotel with friendly staff and large rooms with ensuite. No meals available on site but a good restaurant is only 200 yards away . Small but well stocked bar. The only downside is that rooms with adjoining doors are very noisy - you hear every conversation. Overall a good base to explore Ramsgate , Margate , Canterbury etc.

We stayed for 6 nights whilst visiting family and friends in the area. Compared to Holiday Express in Germany, Ramsgate is much more expensive yet: The room smelt. the sink was blocked and I had to unblock it myself to get the sink to drain.. There was mold in bathroom. Paying £135 for a night you expect something reasonable. At check in, no explanation about breakfast and then to the room which smelt damp. Stayed for a week due to the price and location within Thanet. It's just across the road from a few chain restaurants and the village is very charming.
