Having stayed here now twice, the hotel and it's staff are really quite nice, the thing that lets them down is the car parking situation and the somewhat noisy guests that walk the corridors at night!

The hotel itself is nice enough and in easy reach of the town centre to grab something to eat on the evening. The issue I had was with car parking. There is only very limited parking on site. The first night I managed to park on the road outside and fortunately no parking ticket arrived. Second night no such luck. I had no money for parking and the machine didn't accept cards, which was hardly surprising given that the car park looked like a replica from the Get Carter movie! That's probably w... Read more

Booked on last minute as we had missed the last train home, would recommend this hotel as its close to all pubs, it's clean and the staff are really nice. If I was going on a night out again I'd either double check the train times or book in advance

Very central location for this Conference Day. However, agree with other reviewers that parking is a real problem. I was able to get the last space in the hotel's car park as I have a Disabled Blue Badge and a disabled parking spot was available. The lunch wasn't the usual sandwiches, but was a nice variety of mini jacket potatoes, skewered chicken and vegetables, wraps and a choice of desserts. Also, there was plenty to go round. Coffee/tea at break time was accompanied my Danish pastries an... Read more

We had one night at the holiday inn Preston. A nice hotel, the bar looked really nice and the staff were pleasant. Reception on the ball. Parking was a bit of a pain. The room with 2 single beds was snug, and the bathroom tiny. Not enough space for 2 people in my opinion. There was a dinner menu 3 courses for £20. It was first class, I had the sea trout which was exceptional. A very tasty 3 course menu. Staff were really nice to top our dining experience. It's close to the motorways.

The service at the reception desk was OK, but not great. I forgot my UK adapter, and in the rooms documentation it was highlighted that they are offering various adapters at the reception. Unfortunately it was not the case. When I wanted to take a shower in the morning, only really hot water came out. At the sink it was possible to regulate the water in its temperature, but not in the shower. The was only hot and burning hot possible. The corridor on the 4th floor is under construction, and we t... Read more

Stayed here 1 night on business, the rooms are as you would expect, clean and comfortable, and the hotel staff were very helpful, the area is a little rough around the edges and the hotel doesn't look plus from the outside, but absolutely no complaints (3rd time I have stayed here on business). The food is very good - my starter was debatable but probably just my choice, breakfast was excellent as ever.

Stayed here for two nights business travel and have to say every member of staff I encountered was so nice and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble from the outset of my stay. My room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Dinner both nights was really enjoyable and my steak was perfectly cooked.

Most Holiday Inns in the UK are tired, and this one is exhausted. Tiny bathroom, small room, no sockets at head end of bed, room service food very average and they delivered the wrong meal. And the room wasn't cheap when we stayed there on a Saturday night. The bed was ok, but a bit wobbly. Unfortunately there's not much else around Preston.

Car park very small, but other car parks close by. Reception located on 1st floor. All the staff very pleasant and helpful. Hotel very clean in all areas and quite a nice ambience throughout. Room fine and clean throughout, no curtains but wooden sliding partitions which in some ways I find better and easier to use. Bar food OK nothing special but you are not in the dining area so its about right. Breakfast was very good. All in all a very satisfactory stay.

When you stay at a Holiday Inn you know what to expect but this place is the worst in its kind. The rooms are very small and smell unpleasant, very small bathroom and the bath was dirty. Despite all the discomfort, they are more expensive than the usual Holiday Inn hotels. I stayed the night before in a Holiday Inn at Milton Keynes which was cheaper and a much more pleasant experience all together. I would avoid this hotel if you have the choice.

Stayed at the Holiday Inn The Ringway Preston during our journey to and from the Isle of Wight. We had a very warm welcome on arrival, the room was comfortable and clean, evening meals were wonderful and a great selection to choose from. The buffet breakfast had a great selection from which to choose.

All the staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome. Good location. Room was clean and comfortable and perfect for our needs. Included breakfast at check in which was excellent and good value. The car park is small but we were directed to the over flow car park so not a problem for us. Would stay there again if in Preston.

As we live close to Preston and were due to catch a coach at 7am on Sunday 19th June, we decided to book a room in the Holiday Inn on Ringway, on Saturday night 18th, which is next to Preston Bus Station. Our thinking being, we can have a good nights rest and not be rushing round on Sunday morning, as we faced a long journey down to Southampton to start a 14 day cruise. One big mistake!! Everything started off fine. Had few drinks in the bar, walked into the city for a meal, returning to the hot... Read more

Reserved 3 rooms in May against July, got there with family and was told that they only had a booking for 2 rooms. I showed them my confirmation letter and they said that their system cancelled one of the rooms. It was from one lie to the next. They asked us to squeeze into 2 rooms as the hotel is full up. They said they have tried other hotels in Preston and cannot find room anywhere. My disappointment was the lies from the manager and his staff. There was no remorse and they were unapologetic... Good points: Central location, parking and good gym facilities. The rooms are dated it must be said, probably soon due a Holiday Inn makeover, however they were clean and tidy as you'd expect. I did arrive early and they found me a room with ease which was helpful and appreciated. The gym facilities have basic equipment but a great view to keep you motivated. It's open until late so there's no excuse to not burn off the days coffee and biscuit intake. Great to have parking and also a shor... Read more

Me and my boyfriend booked this last minute just to get away for a night, when we arrived our room was a twin very dated really in need of a refurb, when approached Hannah on reception she explained that we had just booked a standard room and there wasn't any double rooms available as she was explaining it to us she was very rude, had a really bad attitude, we ordered room service and the guy that brought it for us came with a smile and could not do enough for us his name was Thomas it was nice ... Although very close to a number of very busy roads and very much in the center of things we found it quiet. We were part of a coach trip to Scotland and it was just an overnight stay. The staff were very helpful and our room was fine with every thing that you would need for a longer stay. The food was very good having both an evening meal and also breakfast. I would use this hotel again.

Situated in very near to Preston town centre with limited parking (though there is ample public parking nearby) We stayed on 7th floor so a bit of traffic noise from the ring road below but nice views across Preston...... Pleasant room on the top floor with great views. Comfortable bed. Just what you'd expect. All the staff were friendly and efficient and seemed pleased to see us - not really like a "chain" hotel at all! But the star of the show must be the chef. Overall standard of food was excellent at the 1 breakfast and 2 lunches we had - but within that, three real winners: fresh, real, hand-cut grapefruit segments and fruit salad at breakfast; good, proper ham in a ham and cheese panini; and the special o... Arriving at 9.50pm with the restaurant closing at 10pm the receptionist ignored welcome totally opting instead to watch a guest book a train ticket. Finally after asking to book in please found out the restaurant was closed. Nobody to serve at the bar. 24h food was inedible. Room keys don't work. No apologies or attempt to make better. No one cares. I am a platinum elite member of ihg and I can honestly say this is the worst ihg hotel in the group avoid!!!!!!!!

Absolutely lovely place to stay the staff were all friendly and very helpful and had a good sense of humour. Breakfast was out of this world well and truly worth the price! Very clean too. A big ??? from me. Also very near and easy to get to night entertainment, restaurants plenty to go too & all friendly. We also spent a day in Blackpool only a twenty odd minutes drive or catch a bus if you don't want to drive. Defiantly worth a visit plenty to do and see..

Booked here for August Bank Holiday weekend to visit friends who live locally. All staff were a pleasure to meet and the Chef delivered high class food at each request. Yes the view might not be great, but what can be expected from a city centre hotel? Noise levels from traffic were not a problem. The closeness to the amenities more than makes up for that. Rooms a little dated, but clean and tidy.

Central location, nestling close by the 'interesting' architecture of Preston Bus Station and Guildhall. Interesting room too, with Japanese-style sliding window shutters in place of curtains and comfortable enough, if a little dated. Very pleasant and helpful staff and good and good-value breakfast, marred only by the dark hot watery and rather unpleasant liquid served as coffee. But that's not particularly unusual in most UK hotels. All in all, based on our stay, amply deserves a 'very good' r... Read more

Typical holiday inn other than our allocated room which was tiny. There wasn't even a table to put our breakfast tray on. No heated rail in bathroom to dry towels. I suppose the room will be fine if you are only doing a short overnight stay, but we were staying for a couple of nights.

This really is a hotel with a mix of good and bad. It looks grim approaching it but inside its actually OK, so don't let that put you off. First the good. The location is good and the parking was free and easy to access. If the car park is full there is discounted parking very close at just a few pounds a day. It is a Holiday Inn, so not exactly full of individual character but no-one would expect that in such a chain. It provides reliably clean and comfortable rooms, is quiet enough and the morning call came through ,cheerfully, at the expected time. The shower did not take too much working out. I did not have a breakfast this time but on my last visit it was a decent buffet. We stayed a Friday night only so we could attend the game at Deepdale. The ground is 15 minutes walk, strolling, from the hotel and the train station a similar distance the other way. The hotel is well located on the ring road, but with mainly offices and roads by it it will never be described as attractive. However you use a hotel to stay in it, not stand outside looking at it. There is a public car park opposite but its not very convenient.
