Stayed here on a 2 night on- line deal , cant really fault the price (pay for what you get) but certain aspects let this hotel down .We checked in at the main hotel(MCKAYS HOTEL) across the road all staff seemed pleasant enough but upon entering the Strathgarry we were met by the slight pong of dogs and the stairwell carpets leading to the rooms was in need of a good hoovering ! (dogs/pets are allowed at this hotel) The room itself was clean and tidy with a fairly comfortable bed although the de... Read more

Stopped for dinner one Sunday evening. This place has a good menu choice and well priced too! The girl in the bar was very efficient and pleasant and did her job really well. The place was busy and she was the only one serving food and drinks but nobody had to wait what so ever so well done to her. The decor is pleasant and spotless so I would stop here again.

After wandering along the main street and time marching on we came across Strathgarry's. Attentive staff led us to the table and took our drinks order and left us to study the menu. I chose the prawn cocktail my associate the soup, both chose the fish platter, unfortunately the prawns had swam out so I opted for the meat platter instead. This combined with the main course was a bit to much, large portions and delicious food, would recommend and will revisit if I am in pitlochry again

Dropped in for lunch. Warmly welcomed and offered variety of seating in cosy dining area. Service excellent...young chap in kilt added to this experience. Food piping hot and generous portion. Pot of tea....hmn tea could have done with a weekend away to build it up!! Minor issue. Highly recommend this restaurant in a place which offers a plethera of good eating establishments.

Super fast service, very convenient (next to parking lot) it had outside seating and the food was nice although a bit expensive. I had a haggis which was nice and filling. There were only two Scottish beers on tap and neither were particularly nice.

We have used this restaurant several times and on every occasion have never been let down. We had the early bird special and hubby enjoyed the beer. Excellent value for money. We had fish and chips and ice cream desserts and drinks for about £26.00 - good value for money and freshly prepared.

Very nice clean room with lovely big bathroom, was at the rear so was very quiet and peaceful, hotel was full but there was no noise transfer at all. Breakfast was fabulous, very hot and fresh, help yourself to cold buffet and toast and tea was free flowing, very nice and will be back. Plenty of parking as well which is good news!!

This place looked classy. It has the look of a quality eatery and that tempted us inside. Inside - it was a bit of a disappointment to be honest. Any anticipated ambience evaporated as we sat down. The place needs a bit of internal/external match up. Service was a little confused - the servers weren't clear on what the specials were. We decided to have mains only. I had the burger with what tasted like frozen fries, the boss had chicken and mushroom pasta. The food was adequate in quality and p... Read more

We had a family room as it was the only available room left and it was well appointed and clean. There was no view and we heard an occasional train but never loudly enough to disturb us. Otherwise everything was very good. The children's room had its own hospitality tray and a tv with a selection of dvds which would be a real bonus for a family. Breakfast at Mackays was tasty and the service good. The central location is great if you are looking for somewhere in the town centre.
