Clean rooms, friendly staff all you need for an overnight stay. Breakfast was adequate but that was probably our fault due to getting up late. Ample parking spaces and the hotel has agreed rate of £12 with mini cab company to take guests into town centre.

We stayed here for 4 nights at the end of April. It's a 3/4 minute drive from the Park and Ride into Oxford £2 for all day. Buses are regular and we used our passes so got into the centre of Oxford for free. Within a few minutes walk of the Hotel there is a Frankie and Bennys, a Chinese buffet and and Indian buffet. So if you're tired after sight seeing it's just as easy to walk round if you're not looking for fine dining. The Hotel has breakfast included, not a Huge choice but plenty of choice... Read more

We booked this holiday for a few days in Oxford and to go to Blenheim Palace.Having read the info about it on the hotel website, we thought we could get a bus into Oxford easily with a short walk. This took 10/15 mins and was not straight forward as you had to cut across the football stadium next door, down an alleyway and then through a housing estate so it wasn't that easy even with the hotel map, which wasn't as clear as it could have been. Also the hotel supplies a cardboard disc to hang ... Read more

Hotel was satisfactory. located at a truck stop type intersection. Stayed here due to every other hotel being booked. Food options are available within walking, but only within complex. Had to take taxi to train station to get to London. 2.5 hours adventure but worth it for a short layover. breakfast was OK. Beds were a little harder than what I am used to. Clean and decent.

You usually know what your getting with holiday inn expresses, the standard free breakfast, usual lobby set up, however this was pretty disappointing, firstly because I thought it was expensive for a Sunday, but when I reached my room it was very tired and not up to the usual holiday inn standard. Very tired room in need of a face lift for the price.

Holiday Inn express are not meant to be luxury hotels and as long as you remember this, they never disappoint. I stayed here for 1 night for a cycling event which started at the football stadium next door (extremely handy), the price was not as cheap as I had expected for a Holiday Inn express but not 5 star prices either. The breakfast was better than expected and the place was, in my opinion, in good clean condition. I was made quite welcome at the check in, even though the poor girl was rushe... Read more

It's an ok hotel - what you'd expect for a cheapish place outside town. A big downside is the lack of places to eat dinner nearby. There's a small leisure park across the road...but very limited food options: Frankie and Benny's is pretty much the best which isn't saying much! Beds aren't too comfortable - but rooms are functional.

We didn't realise quite how far this Hotel is from the centre of Oxford when we booked it. The website says that a bus passes outside. Alas, the route which does this is very infrequent and not recommended. The nearest bus is a 10 minute walk through the nearby football stadium and a housing estate. Then it takes some 25 mins to get to Oxford. Alternatively the Hotel has negotiated a special rate with a taxi company of £12 each way. However, the Hotel itself is modern and in very good conditio... Read more

This place is very so so, no character but I guess that's to be expected, it's a Holiday Inn. It is comfortable and suited our location for work. The Chinese buffet over the road is great, a saving grace. Reception staff left a bit to be desired in their (his) manner. If I'm talking to you, listen! Don't answer me on auto pilot because it's rude. Probably a bit expensive.

We stayed here as a fairly large group back in April for a night out in Oxford. When we booked, we didn't realise that it was a game day so on arrival there were a lot of fans milling about in the lobby. However, the crowd was well controlled and it didn't really affect us. The hotel is about a 15 minute taxi ride from the city centre - walking there is not really an option as its quite a long way! There are a couple of bars and restaurants just down the road if you want to grab a quick bite. Ro... Read more

Ok first of all I booked this hotel on behalf of a family who had nowhere to stay it was late at night. On the website it said I could book a room on behalf of the party. They were going to pay cash once they had arrived. As they arrived to the hotel was told they needed to see my card! I was away at the time I rang the hotel explained the person was going to pay cash and didn't understand why they needed my card as I booked it on behalf of someone else. I asked to speak to a manager and was pas... Read more

What you'd expect - OK prices, clean rooms, and all the basic features. Breakfast is basic but gets you going in the morning - beans and toast is fine for me! Staff were very friendly and made good effort to make it a pleasant stay. Location is nice as bit away from any main roads. Oxford is a bit of nightmare for traffic though, so plan carefully.

Have stayed here several times and always enjoyed it in the past. Probably won't return, which is a pity. Positives: Staff: all lovely and very helpful Cleanliness: excellent throughout Beds: really comforable Noise level: low Parking: free Breakfast: ok, though not brilliant Negatives: Smell: really awful sewage smell, which we understand comes from the nearby treatment works. Have not had this problem on previous visits. Obviously not hotel's fault but still very offputting. Room temperatur... Read more

Stayed there for one night. Easy access. Lots of parking. Good reception. Room was comfy and of good size. Bathroom was clean and very functional. WiFi is free but not secured, so just be safe. Breakfast was very good. Hot and cold. Good choice available. Only negative, was the bed. The mattress has seen better days and would merit to be changed. Could not have a good night of sleep as springs were popping up in my back. Good value for the price paid.

I visited this holiday inn with family It's lovely and clean Nothing sophisticated but convenient enough Substantial breakfast About 10 mins from city centre by taxi It costs £12 fixed rate The hotel staff can book it for you The only downside I would say is that if you get a room facing the front of the hotel , if people are smoking everything comes up into your room. Since there are no aircons in hot weather like this weekend it's stifling if you have to keep the windows shut But the staff a... Read more

Hotel is located quite far from Oxford center. Taxi cab ride from bus station takes ca 10min and 12 GBP. Hotel is clean but outdated. No air conditioning is rooms which is unacceptable during warm summer days. WiFi is free and works well. Breakfast is free but poor selection. I won't return here.

Although the hotel is along way from the centre it is convenient for the Park and Ride. I would recommend this method of travel as Oxford is very busy. The hotel is a standard Holiday Inn Express and is clean. The staff were outstanding and nothing was too much trouble. It made the stay a pleasure

I stayed in this hotel for one night last week for business. I booked a double room with a sofa bed. When I checked in the young lady was very helpful and I wasn't sure if I needed the sofa bed made up she said no problem, let us know later. I called the hotel later and they said they would make it up. I then had a voicemail call explaining there was a problem wiih that room and the sofa bed could not be made up. The location of this hotel is not its strongest point; it is further out than the Premier Inn or the Travelodge and you may need to take a taxi into town. We drove to the Redbridge Park and Ride, which is about 10 minutes away and handy for the city buses. There is a foul smell hanging over the entire area, possibly from the sewage works. Nearby there are some fast food outlets (on the other side of the football stadium). I booked a room for two nights, well in advance, paying £90 per night by ... Read more

I write from the perspective of a seasoned business traveller who has been an IHG Rewards Elite member for about 10 years. This trip is for pleasure and when in IHG Hotels is on my points. The Holiday Inn Express format is a fairly simple one. You get a clean, comfortable room that is a useful size, you get Breakfast and in some cases you an evening meal (depending on country). For that, you pay a fairly cheap tariff. The variation to the model in the UK that surprised me was the absence of ... Read more

If you are a solo traveler in need of somewhere clean, with free parking and pleasant staff to stay this would be ideal. However we stayed overnight with our 15 year old son and if we had been booked in for another night we would of looked for an alternative hotel, the room we were given was just much too small for 3 people and luggage. We booked a room for 3, we were given a room with a small double bed and a sofa bed - If the room had been a double it would of been adequate but with the sofa ... Read more

Hmm its over priced and the service at breakfast is almost like a Soviet Gulag with miserable staff clearly happy to be in the UK and adapting to British life....or are they thinking its Communist Russia circa 1933 and poor attitudes are acceptable? Check in is the saving grace however and the rooms are adequate.

After reading some reviews I was a bit worried, but this is a modern comfortable hotel. Great room with settee. Breakfast was good, but hot food was limited to sausage, scrambled eggs and beans. The sausages could be of better quality. There was plenty of other things such as, croissants, muffins, fruit salad, toast, cereal, tea and coffee. I would recommend this hotel. There is also plenty of free parking space.

This hotel is clean, and functional. The rooms are small compared to other budget hotels and very, very hot. The hotel is around the corner from a number of cheaper restaurant, which helps as the hotel bar is expensive. My main concern was breakfast, there is a good selection available, with friendly staff, BUT their was NO bacon (breakfast is not breakfast without bacon!).

So my first experience of a Holiday Inn Express was in Birmingham and it wasn't good. With some trepidation I thought I would give it another go.. This hotel is situated outside the city centre and is probably a 15 minute drive, you can use the park and ride or use a Cab which will cost you about £12 each way. The hotel is situated on a business park and stands in the shadows of a football stadium, from a colleagues room you could clearly see the pitch..there is plenty of parking outside the... Read more

They're all the same - that's the point! This one is pretty average nonetheless - breakfast is a bit of a farce as you have to wrestle with the other guests in what is essentially a glorified cupboard to get your over cooked scrambled egg and 'protein item' which looked like a sausage but nobody was confident enough to label it as such. You also really need to understand where this is in relation to the city centre, as if you're expecting to be able to step out of the door and be among the dre... Read more
