Have stayed at the Regent Hotel before so were pleased to find that bedrooms had been decorated and bathrooms renewed. However our shower head was old and the shower was either scalding or freezing! Our room (101) was cosy and relatively quiet being at the end of the corridor. Breakfast was included both mornings and was decent. I would have liked some of the other breakfasts on offer but only the full Scottish came without a surcharge - disappointing. The art deco hotel facade is not replicated... Read more

For a hotel which charges 40 pounds per night, I think it is great value for money. No thrills, however it is clean and welcoming! The bar in the lounge is cheap and has wifi within it. We didn't have food so I cannot comment on that. The room We stayed in 203 - it was clean and welcoming! Bath shower and a kettle in the room. The bed was perfect! The decor is worn however again you get what you pay for! For the money, the hotel exceeded my expeditions which is great! We didn't have a vie... Read more

Pros: Very friendly staff. Clean, warm rooms. Quiet. Excellent waterfront central location. Cons: Metal single glazed windows covered in condensation in morning. Peeling paper around windows. Paint on woodwork around windows flaking off, see photo. Overall decor is tired and needs updated. Overall, if not for the very friendly helpful staff I would have given the Regents 2 stars. It needs some serious money spent on it, in a town like Oban where there guests all year round this is unforgivea... Read more

Stayed at this hotel on a Tuesday till Saturday had a lovely time. Although I think this hotel is a little tired for the price and the location I think it was well worth the money. Tom who worked nights was amazing and was a pleasure to talk too.

The location of the hotel is great right on the sea front. There is no free parking at the hotel, parking is roughly £1 per hour until 6pm then it's free until the morning. The hotel is very dated but room was very warm and clean, from a hygiene point downside is the bed doesn't have mattress protectors. Staff were friendly and food was lovely.

we stayed one night (family of 4, 4yro & 1yro) in January. We stayed there because it has a good location and good price and we were traveling to Fort William from Stirling (we were late so stoped in oban for one night). Good value for money! We had a family room with harbour view, my girls loved it. The hotel it self a litle bit tired, room was tired (refurbishment needed!)So if you are fussy about how does it look dont go there! If you want a nice stay in Oban without a fuss, i recomend it!
