3 nights stay, the room was very nice and clean, the hotel quiet, privacy respected, nice lighting system...the TV package could definitely be better, and the "gym" they have at 11th floor shouldn't be called a gym,but overall a good experience. Price- fair enough

Not sure what some of the other reviewers are complaining about, but this was a decent hotel, the room was newer, service was good, close to everything that matters. I would happily stay there again. Just make sure to pre-book your parking.

Visited last week with my girlfriend on our way up north as she loves Robin Hood. The car park is a bit of a pest to find and if you miss it the trip round the one way system isn't much fun. The parking charge was £15 I think which is usual for hotels and at lease this one is secured. I was a bit bemused by the £25 charged for breakages, mini bar etc. On a plus it paid for my parking and our mini bar use. Checkin took a bit of time as due to my mistake with the car park a group of a dozen sta... Read more

Went to the Nottingham Plaza to attend an event in Nottingham. The weekend had a lot of events on, so this hotel was a very similar price to the more budget hotel a few buildings as all hotel prices were raised. Very clean, efficient staff, secure underground parking though I didn't use it at night. Didn't make use of room service or on-site restaurant. Large room and medium sized bathroom, controllable air con in the room. Slept well even though it's on a main road, room seemed quiet to me.

I visited here in early June. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. My room was big and included all modcons. However, it was very noisy - even though it was six floors up. I could hear cars below, as well as people outside local bars and clubs when I had gone to bed. It doesn't have 'proper' double glazing and the curtains aren't flat with the walls, which meant the room got light when the sun came up (at 5.30am). The breakfast was ok but the layout of the restaurant is a ... Read more

The main pro is the situation of the hotel located downtown and offering a parking service if you come by car. The hotel is quite new, modernly decorated with rooms that are correctly equipped. Correctly only for there is no mineral water in the rooms, the towels are tiny, the bathroom is basic. The most annoying is the AC that blows like hell even if put on the Low fan, propelling cold air even if you set the temperature high. As a result you spend the night going up every two hours to switch... Read more

As with most city centre hotels, the downside to this one is the lack of free parking, so I left my car at a 'park and tram' stop, rather than drive into the city. Upon arrival at the hotel the two people behind the check in desk were preoccupied amongst themselves, and rather than acknowledge my arrival, they continued to talk about a work issue for the best part of a minute before saying Hello to me - this isn't a long time, but it feels lengthy when you're waiting to be seen and feeling igno... I'll keep it short and sweet: bed was incredibly comfortable, staff friendly, room was modern and clean and the location is central. We booked this hotel very last minute and arrived the next day. Firstly, if you are travelling by car, park in the NCP car park on Maid Marian Way, it's only £4.20 for a full 24hrs, so much cheaper than the surrounding car parks that charge around £17 per day! We checked in and were given a room on the 4th floor. The hallways and carpeted areas were very clean - the carpets looked brand new. The room was of a nice size, a combination of both carpeted and wooden floors. Free Wi-Fi that we had... Read more

I was stayed here in July and there's a fire alarm on after midnight. So we tried to escape with the kids and elderly in the group as soon as possible. The alarm is very loud but many of the guest are still thinking it's true or not. So I shouted to them and asked them to run down by stairs in a safe place. I didn't find the assembly area when I reach the lobby. There are no Receptionist at the Reception Counter except 1 Security staff and a doorman security at the door. The information is ver... Take a look at a hotel's stairway and you know about the hotel... The Park Plaza Nottingham has good rooms but also rooms that should have stayed a boxroom. Which one you get seems to be random. At my last stay cleanliness wasn't at it's best. But the staff is very friendly and being in the city center is obviously a bonus. The gym isn't worth the name, though. 2 treadmills, 2 ellipticals, 1 basic rowing machine, 1 bicycle and fresh towels don't make a gym. But at least there is a bit of free s... Read more

Stayed here a few times now. The hotel appears to have had some refurbishment and it's okay, but nothing special. It's clean, the bed is comfortable and the location can't be beat. The bathrooms have Elemis bar soap and shower gel, but no shampoo or conditioner. Bath robes only available if you're in a suite (as far as I know). Staff seem friendly. The breakfast is decent and the dinner in the restaurant is quite good also.

Stayed here as an anniversary treat. The hotel itself is in a great location just 2 minutes walk from the main square in Nottingham and it has its own underground secure parking which is a bonus- although it does cost £15 for 24 hrs. Our trip to Nottingham was a child free get away. The hotel didn't disappoint, the location was perfect, right in the centre of Nottingham so little walking required for shopping, eating, drinking etc. We elected to go for a higher floor, in case of noise, the room was of a good size, clean and a large, comfy bed-with plenty of pillows-the bathroom again was a good size and clean. The overall feeling was of a modern, well maintained hotel with excellent staff.

The bar had a group of "lads" in it at 6.30pm who were so drunk they couldn't stand up, broke glasses and knocked chairs over while collapsing on the floor. The bar manager watched without doing anything. The bedroom flooded in the middle of the night from the room upstairs and it took an hour to get moved. Then the room next door had a party until 4am. I only stay in the Park Plaza, when in Nottingham, after trying a couple of other hotels in the area that did not come close to PP's standards! The King Exec rooms are modern, clean and spacious and the Presidential Suite (I got upgraded) had a separate lounge, walk in shower and an abundance of space.
