Came for one night as my husband had previously stayed and liked it. Although he mentioned while he was sick and in bed the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night as previous reviewers mentioned - personally that is terrible. I would not have evacuated especially while I was sick. He was there to rest and got anything but rest. The bedroom wasn't anything special, pretty average. The mattress felt cheap, the springs were sticking through my back and there was some gray marks on the lin... Read more

This hotel is great for a visit to the town and is well placed near most of the city trendy bars. Went with a group of friends and out of the three rooms we had two were very small with only just enough room to get around the bed. Rooms were clean and there is a nice little bar in the hotel for meeting friends. Our room also had the joys of an uneven floor.

Although one can't get more central in Nottingham then here, there's a price to pay - particularly in weekends. The hotel is in an old building and all measures taken to make it sound proof, or at least resistant, have failed. The partying Nottingham youth will keep you up... Other than that, the staff is friendly, the rooms and fitness more than adequate and as said, on a Wednesday you should be good :-)

We stayed here for our honeymoon we had a suite which was excellent very spacious which had a separate lounge area the bed was extremely comfortable the bathroom area was extremely large with a luxury feel to the whole room . Breakfast was self service and was also excellent with a huge array of foods . Top notch staff top off a memorable stay for us both .

If you plan to travel on the budget, but still don't want to sacrifice the location. This hotel offers a great value for your money. Located in the center of Nottingham, this hotel is walking distance from all you need. Victoria coach and rail stations are walking distance away, the city center with all the pubs and restaurants is 5 minutes walk and the castle is 10 minutes walk, also Tesco and Salsbury is just across the street. The rooms are clean and have all you need. The stuff is swift and ... Read more

The staff was very friendly and courteous. Neither the payment nor the supply with an adapter for the plug socket (I'm from Germany) was a problem. The room was clean and the breakfast delicious. I would definitely stay another night at the Mercure Hotel.

Lovely hotel nice rooms our had a view of a back yard but in a city centre not going to really get fab views. Very clean room everything you could need including ironing board and iron!! Didn't try the breakfast. Staff all very friendly Was a function on until 12 there was some noise but it didn't bother us too much and did stop immediately at 12am!

Popped into Nottingham for a few cocktails and dinner with a bro. Picked this place at the last minute and was very happy with my stay. The hotel is in a perfect location if you want to be close to all of the action in the city centre. The layout is a bit quirky but it was a pretty cool layout. My room was clean and tidy, and the bed was comfy! I'd stay here again for sure!

Nice, clean room with a comfortable bed. Some noise drifting in from the street overnight, but let's be honest . . . the hotel is in the centre of a busy, buzzy, lively city. And it is was a Monday - I guess it might be a different story to stay over the weekend. Good breakfast with very attentive staff

This was one of the worst rooms in a moderately priced hotel I have stayed in. The whole room was on a slope which was quite disconcerting- my husband had to remove casters from the bed to try and even it up. It was also a very small room which would be more suited for a single person, could not wait to check out and get some space. Unfortunately, little sleep was to be had as there was a lot of noise from music from outside and I only slept once it stopped at 1am. I was also disappointed as the... Read more

The location is really convenient for access to the city centre. We stayed in the smallest room but it had everything that we needed and was a good price. It was modernly decorated and clean. The complimentary bottles of water and toiletries were a nice touch. However, the bed was a bit too hard.

I really loved this hotel. It's in a fantastic location. Minutes from train station and bus station. Everything within walking distance (Nottingham Castle, City of Caves, Galleries of Justice Museum) The hotel room and bathroom were spotless, and bed very comfortable. The room was snug, but most city centre hotels have smaller rooms. My personal preference is to have a smaller room, and be central to attractions, than to have a huge room outside the city and have to travel by car/transport every... Read more

From the moment of checking in to checking out we were greeted by all staff with a friendly greeting, all questions were answered efficiently and with courtesy. The room was very clean and comfortable and although being a city centre hotel the noise from late revellers was not too bad and ear plugs are provided if one deems it to be too loud.

As frequent day visitors to Nottingham it was a treat to stay for a few days in this hotel which is central to both the town centre, Nottingham Contemporary Art gallery and the Lace Market area. The quality of the room was astonishing and gave us pleasure just to be there. The staff were friendly and helpful and our breakfast was excellent. The only negative was a lack of choice for bread. In spite of the provision of earplugs! the night was completely quite. We would love to come again. We are ... Read more

Stayed here with a friend as we were having a night out and doing a bit of shopping. We got a good room for a very decent price given the brand, in fact it was only a couple of quid more expensive than a budget hotel. We didn't get breakfast included or eat at the hotel. Room was comfortable and quite given it is a stone's throw from the Lace Market. The staff were really friendly and helpful giving us ideas where to eat etc. Def recommend this hotel.

We visited this hotel on a recent trip to Nottingham. From the start it was trouble. I happened to ring to ask about drop off points to be told rather curtly that I need to go to their website to find a car parking tower before we arrived to check in. The fact that it is close by is ok but finding it with their directions....not ok. When we finally trundled our significant luggage along the cobbles to reception we were greeted...no we were actually ignored by the gentleman doing his book kee... Read more

Have visited many times on cricket trips and the occasional gig. Also used other hotels on occasions when the Mercure is already full - it's not a very big hotel, which is part of the charm. I would say this is easily the best choice in the city centre, both for location and friendly staff. Some of the cheaper rooms are a little bit cozy sizewise, particularly the City Pad but bathrooms are all good and beds comfy.

I was visiting Nottingham with friends and fancied staying near the lace market area as it seemed quite vibrant and cool. Having seen the Mercure (via Le Club) I set about booking as it met all of our requirements. This was something I did not regret! We were centrally located among chic bars and vintage shops which was just up our street. We particularly enjoyed visiting local venues The Hockley Arts Club and Brew Dog. The area was lively and slightly noisy but we managed to get a good nights ... Read more

My husband and I were going to see Rod Stewart at the Motorpoint Arena and booked one night at this hotel as it was close to the arena and the City centre. When we went to drop our bags off mid morning we were met by a very polite and friendly man on reception who offered to check if there was a room ready which we could have. As there was (which was an upgrade on the classic double we had booked) we checked straight in. The room was a good size and spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfy... Read more

This hotel is ideally situated in the city centre, the room that we had was a decent size, spotlessly clean with good storage. The bathroom was up a small set of stairs and again very clean, but a bit on the small side. The staff were all very friendly and attentive to ones needs. There is no parking on site, but a reduced rate at The Lace Market multi-storey near by, we aid £15 for two days parking. We paid In my opinion a premium rate (£140) per night so as you'd imagine we were expecting a premium hotel/stay. On arrival we found the previous guest had left their toiletry bag in the bathroom which wasn't a massive issue but did make us wonder... we took it to reception and got 2x free drinks vouchers. The view from the window wasn't great either and again the window ledge etc hadn't been cleaned for a while. All in all not what I expected and would want more for £140 in nottingham. Pre... The rooms here are tiny. Might be okay if you're looking only for a place to crash for one night, but not if you're staying a few days and/or have a suitcase (there's no where to fit it). Definitely too small for two adults in one room. We actually forfeited a night's paid accommodation and relocated to another, more expensive, hotel down the road because it was too claustrophobic. The staff were nice and it's clean, but it's just not a practical place to stay.

We stayed here in a Privilege King Room for £89,we had previously stayed in a SMALL room at The Nottingham Hilton for a similar price, the Mercure hotel was much better with a street view, no noise & complimentary soft drinks/water, bath robes & slippers, plus an iron & ironing board plus a safe,in our opinion, The Mercure was far superior to what was offered by The Hilton & we will definitely be going back to The Mercure.

I was conducting training at this hotel in a conference room. From the outside it is a quaint building, but the inside needs much TLC. The connection between my computer and screen did not work and it took the maintenance man 20 minutes to screw it back in to the wall, but still left exposed wires and a very dodgy looking fix it. The same repair man then interrupted my session to measure the doors. Refreshments were provided, but compared to other Mercures were poor. Lunch was awful. The waitres... Read more

Excellent place to stay if visiting Nottingham. Welcoming staff, efficient service at the desk. The room was twin, clean, nicely done with a very spacious bathroom and a large sash-window overlooking the street. Nice touch, well done. The interior design of this old, re-purposed building is all in burgundy color, the staircase is huge bonus, genuine old wooden staircase and old-world ambiance. English breakfast. The location of the hotel is great, it is in the city centre and perfect in that respect. However I have never slept in a hotel room so hot and humid in my life. We stayed in July but it wasn't a warm day, it was a typical rainy overcast day with a chill in the air at night. We had the air con on full but it was doing nothing to cool the room down and keeping the window open (which was tiny) was not an option as the air conditioning unit outside was so loud. We spent 30 minutes driving around the 1 way system trying to get outside the hotel. Once we did, parking was a five minute walk away. The hotel itself is ok, but my room was small cramped with an uneven floor. The bathroom was on a different level with no air conditioning which made it unpleasant to use in the heat. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was ok. With traditional British cooked and continental options.

Yes it's a city centre hotel with discounted parking 2 minutes away. Staff were courteous, rooms clean and well appointed. Interior retains some of the former character. A comfortable nights sleep. Bar and breakfast all acceptable for the price. But you're paying for the slap-bang location to Lace market central area, for which this hotel is ideal. I'd stay again
