Stayed here for 2 nights and couldn't fault anything. Staff were very helpful and friendly, the breakfast each morning was spot on and our room was very clean and comfortable. The tram into the city centre was only a short walk away which was very handy for us. Would definitely stay again :)

Just wanted to comment on the excellent young lady and man on reception when we arrived on Saturday afternoon 14 May. They were both really helpful giving us directions on how to walk to the city. About 20 mins walk. Room was clean and tidy. Breakfast was very good and again very helpful and pleasant staff. The hotel has a nice bar and reception area to sit and have a drink. Large free car park. I could not fault the hotel and staff and wish all hotels had the same standards. Thank you

Excellent meet and greet. Staff welcoming in both reception and restaurant areas. Room very comfortable and a really good night's sleep. Breakfast and evening meals good value and very palatable . The mains for the evening meal I had was belly pork and very tasty it was too. All in all a very positive experience. The only caveat I have is that for non sat nav owners the hotel is not that easy to find and signage could be improved in surrounding areas but definitely worth another visit.

Stayed here on a Friday night in a twin bedded room with my friend. Two big beds that we found a little uncomfortable to sleep in (they are all due for change for new soon). Other than that the room was your standard hotel room with tea, coffee, etc. Food in the meal deal and morning breakfast were really tasty and staff were attentive and friendly. We were not in the city centre - we were by the marina. This did mean free parking though!

We visited on a visit to Download Festival. The hotel is on a retail park just outside city centre so lots of places to eat and shop. The starter my wife had was still cold in the middle but was changed quickly and the second was very good. Rooms are clean and the staff very friendly. Good customer service.

Stayed over on a Sunday night in readiness to visit Trent Bridge on the Monday. A polite, warm and helpful welcome on arrival set the tone for the visit. The room was clean and fresh, the twin beds were comfortable. The chef's menu for dinner had an adequate choice at a very sensible price. The meal was good, although it would have been even better if the cooking of our main course had been left until after we had finished our starter as it was it had probably stood under heat lamps or on a hot ... We use this hotel whenever we visit Nottingham, We've always found the bedrooms to be quiet and comfortable (but we've never visited at the same time as a stag or hen party!). We haven't had lunch or dinner in the restuarant recently but there are good bar meals available. Breakfast (continental) was ok but not outstanding - this is the first hotel I've ever been to that cuts its croissants in half before putting them on display. I like bread and croissant to be fresh, not rapidly going dry. Th... Read more

Good parking and very good location. A £5 can ride from the town. The rooms are fine. That's the good. The bad is the check in. One person on duty and queue out of the door. The bad? The bar...staff with a personality by-pass..."Can't do coffee; I just turned the machine off"! "What gin do you want?" Management; you need to do more to train people.

We regularly use Holiday Inns and all are very good. This Holiday Inn, however is quite exceptional - it is excellent. We only stayed one night but we intend to return for a longer stay in the future. The staff here are the most friendly and helpful, the building is modern, clean well set out. We had a very good bar lunch and the breakfast was very good. The rooms are quite luxurious with pleasant décor and comfy beds. We would highly recommend anyone visitin Nottingham to stay here.

Stayed here for two nights while attending a conference at the East Midlands Conference Centre. Easy to get to, plenty of free parking. Reception staff very helpful. Room and bathroom clean and adequate. Breakfast was fine. Small bar area which was quickly overcome by a large group arriving for the weekend. 20mins walk to city centre and easy access to the tram line. Location is a bit anonymous - in a retail park - but easy to get to and fine for a business trip.

Stayed here for a long weekend. The staff are really focussed and good on customer care but there were insufficient people on duty at various times, particularly in the evening, which was a bit of a let down when compared to the normal Holiday Inn experience and a bit unfair on the staff. The hotel is well located for the tram into Nottingham. Alternatively you can walk into town along the canal.

We tend to stay in a lot of Holiday Inns around the country, most of them are the same and don't tend to stick out. This one does but for the wrong reasons. The rooms are clean but the décor needs to be updated, and the bathrooms are most in need for an update. In general, this is a great hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the room was immaculate and the breakfast was pretty good. My only issue was that the bed was incredibly hard, meaning I got very little sleep. I'm particularly sensitive to how comfortable a bed is, so I might be pickier than others, but since I was staying there for 4 nights, I was exhausted by the end of the week. It's a shame because everything else was extremely good.

Stayed for one night on a weekend away. The hotel has safe secure parking and initial check in was dealt with quickly with friendly staff. The hotel is on the outskirts, roughly a 20 min walk along the canal to the city. There is a Sainsbury's located opposite and a McD's next door. The room is a good size and clean. Our room was on the ground floor. I had asked for a quiet room but we did not get this. From 6:30am Sunday morning there was doors slamming constantly and around 9:00am there was h... Read more

Stayed for work conference nice and clean hotel. Food was excellent that I had over the 5 day period and great value for money. Great location for Nottingham city centre. Easy to use public transport.

Welcome and friendly staff, the price was OK, the location is perfect, but the rooms, corridors, need a serious good refreshing! Bath was blocked during the two days we were there. But did report it but with no following action.

A warm friendly welcome from the staff, who were also helpful providing the sign on information for the free wifi. The coffee ordered up for the group for break times was not hot enough so assume this had been left a while as it was also quite strong. The public areas were clean and seating very comfortable with a relaxed style.... Read more

Only stayed one night and it was hubby's birthday. I smuggled some mince pies to Phillipa behind the bar and asked if they could bring one out with a candle in, so as to suitable embarrass said other arf. She called me over after a few minutes to say they didn't have any candles but James 'has gone over to Sainsburys' to get some!! You could have knocked me down with a feather! Where would you get that service? You two were absolute stars and it was the talk of the coach on the way home. Manage... Read more

Spent a night here as attending a conference nearby. Room very clean and well furnished. Tea and coffee making facilities sufficient although I would have liked some hot chocolate provided. A bit disappointed with the toiletries. Bar service good and not overly pricey. Breakfast okay, but nothing special.

Everything a proper HI should be. Friendly staff, comfy bed, good shower, pleasant room and great location. Just a few minutes walk along the canal to the town centre. I was particularly impressed by the quality and choice of the restaurant menu - so often it is just a regular plastic card with the usual stuff but it was very good here.

This is the third time of staying here with a trip to Newark showground. The room was a twin which was clean and fresh looking.I had dinner and breakfast which were both a self service buffet with a good choice.
