We held our annual dinner/dance here as we had db several years ago. Since then standards in the restaurant have fallen dramatically. The Scotch Broth tasted like Tesco powdered soup, virtually no flavour. The Salmon with a crust had no crust and was hardly the freshest fish I have had. The vegetables were no better and everyone's meal was cold. The staff were pleasant but showed little enthusiasm and being so few of them meant that the service was slow. They also left me with the impression the... Read more

This hotel was much better than I expected and for £89 on a groupon deal which included a 2 course dinner, free bottle of wine and breakfast in a superior double room it was fantastic value for money. On arrival the hotel is a bit strange as the NHS has offices within the grounds and next to reception. Our room was 214 and was clean, nicely decorated and had a really comfortable bed and fantastically powerful shower. It was really quiet and we slept well. The dinner was excellent - nicely prese... The website pictures make the hotel look a lot nicer than it actually is. The bedrooms are actually a purpose built annexe around the back of the hotel and look almost like an old people's home from the outside. The rooms are average but are clean. The grounds could be lovely but no effort had been put in, no flowers, seating areas etc. Big disappointment, the jacuzzi was out of order, so we got changed for nothing as that is what we went for! The restaurant food is ridiculously overpriced ... Read more

We stayed here overnight en route to my wife's birthday holiday - and, though short, our visit was a delight from start to finish. Every member of staff we encountered was helpful and pleasant, and the restaurant staff in particular deserve huge thanks for making our stay even more memorable. The hotel itself is very nice, and the grounds are lovely. Both the atmosphere and the food in the restaurant were excellent. Very happy with our experience here, and would be glad to return.

Stayed here for a 3 night stay and from the start to the end we was made so welcome and the only and I mean only bad point is the price of a pint which was £4.80 which I must admit I was shocked with, But that's all. Our room was one of the cleanest I have stayed in I even did the" 4 in a bed test" and it passed on all so I went to find out who had cleaned our room and her name was Jackie so 10/10 to her. Initially I thought the hotel was better suited to business conferences. However, within 5 minutes this certainly wasn't an issue. The staff were very warm and welcoming. The room was spacious, nicely decorated and well kept. There was a pool which was very busy. The leisure facilities were open to outside members. However, they were clean and well maintained. We didn't book the hotel - we were coming to a conference. The conference was great! The hotel leaves a lot to be desired. I wonder if the staff know they are there to serve the guests, to make them feel welcome and to try and help them in whatever way they can with a smile! They clearly missed that class! Smiles were cursory or produced through almost gritted teeth. There were plenty of them in the restaurant, despite meals being self-service, so they were clearly not overworked. However, they ... The accommodation is quirky in that whilst the bedrooms are not en suite, the close- bathroom facilities are of a good standard. Beautiful grounds. Very welcoming staff and the owners were lovely to talk to. A small, family run manor for those very special occasions. Bedrooms have a rustic, original feel and each is unique. Anyone looking for a cultural retreat, this is the place.

Very efficient welcome on arrival, rooms excellent, clean everything you need, very comfortable bed, and bathroom facilities excellent, towels could be a bit fluffier. Breakfast was excellent, the grounds and leisure facilities first class. Only downside the bar prices are excessive, thus losing business, and the food service was slow on this occasion, but that problem was addressed. Really efficient and pleasant staff. We were with a film crew and all assistance was given.

I regularly come to this area and unfortunately I couldn't get in the other 4 I normally would use all in the same price range. I had to wait. Minimum of 10 mins to be asked if I wanted tea or coffee each morning at breakfast and it had only just opened so not busy. You can hear everything that goes on in the next room and on one day the glass I had. Drink in was left despite the room being cleaned and the trash bag and contents were left on the desk. Comfortable and relaxed hotel. Nice swimming pool and clean changing rooms. We ate in the bar at lunch and dinner - friendly service, food was okay. The Thai green veg curry was more of an Asian fusion meal served in a tiffin carrier. I've never had a Thai green curry with noodles and crackers before. It had a thicker sauce so wasn't authentic. Good choice at breakfast.

A pleasant location for a short golfing break. The bonus is the spa. Rooms well away from bar and conference facilities and surrounded by well tended grounds. The hotel picture is misleading as the image is of Eastwood Hall and not the hotel which is actually alongside the period building. However, we would have liked some drinking water in the pool/sauna area. The bedroom was not as advertised at all, it was more like visiting an elderly relative in a care home. However, the package did include an evening meal which was lovely. Some sort of chavvy wedding going on in the communal bar area which meant there was always a long queue for the bar. Morrisons is local which was good to get things for a picnic for the following day. Probably wouldn't visit again or recommended.

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay here last week (by the way wrote this review some days back but has not appeared for some reason). We stayed at the beginning of Aug and thought that the customer service was really good especially the waiter Gablin (Gabe) whereby nothing was too much trouble. Enjoyed the nice size swimming pool and found the food to be excellent. Excellent value for money and will definitely be returning

Eastwood Hall, is located in its own grounds, beautifully appointed and I had great expectations of joining the gym, and being a happy evacuee from London. Here is the rub. The facilities are dated, the gym machines are also limited and not current, the decor is mid 1990s and long over due for an upgrade. I paid for a day pass to try it out. However, my Versace swim suit, was bleached of all its colour after an over chlorinated swim. I used the sauna, the steam room the pool and the jacuzzi . ... Read more

Had one night here and that was enough.Dont be fooled by the lovely building u see on the advertising .inside it reminded me of a private hospital with dated room decor and hospital room furniture.room housekeeping standards poor with thick dust on bathroom pelmet.restaurant food choice not extensive so finished up dining in a pub few miles up in the village that was a bonus. The hotel staff were friendly enough but short of that i certainly wouldnt recommend a stay here.

Very good conference facilities. Lots of rooms and space for breakouts and workshops. Beware there are snacks and sweets available all day! Bright and good for day and night functions. Attended a dinner in the evening and the food was good, veggie option tasty. Only negative was that the bar charged £3.50 for a coke whereas a beer was £2.99.
