Booked a room for a single night thinking I'll get a nice room comfortable bed and be able sleep Well checked in thought it looked nice went to the lift and waited and waited Got off on floor 2 and then that damp smell hit me , you know the one that smell that typically comes for cheap hotels Opened the door of the room glad I didn't bring my cat . Arrived at the Hotel and the entrance is quite impressive . Its very convenient for the Car Park although at £13 overnight , I thought this was a little expensive. The staff on Reception were courteous and helpful and we located our room easily. The room itself was clean but does need a facelift as it was quite tiny and dark although comfortable all the same. The bed was equally comfortable and the bedding was light and warm .There were some lovely touches like complementary toiletries, complim... Read more

This was my second stay at the Crowne Plaza. I chose the Hotel again due to it's great central location. It's within a 3 mins walk from the centre of Nottingham and has on-site parking attached to the hotel. Although I think it's also a public car park it seems pretty secure. The rooms look fairly tired and aren't particularly big, but are clean and have all the usual facilities. We paid £90 for late booking on a Saturday night which I thought wasn't too bad. A good centrally located Crowne Plaza, the gym is limited but it's good if you want to do something to justify all the snacks from the club lounge. The club lounge is smaller than expected but offers the snacks you'd expect at the premium status. The beds were soft and comfortable and the rooms were slightly smaller than expected but nothing claustrophobic. The biggest flaw in the room was only a single plug socket by the desk and a 4way gang plug hidden behind the wardrobe (with 3 sockets used... Read more

I ordered a wowcher for a spa day for two at the Crowne Plaza, due to expire at the end of July. I went in to book mid May and was told that they were full up and couldn't take any more bookings. The receptionist said I'd have to go direct to wowcher for a refund and wasn't even particularly apologetic. Wowcher tried to fob me off with just half the money back because it was over 30 days since I'd bought the voucher. I was particularly disappointed as I'd bought the Wowcher to go with my young... The room was a bit dated and the furniture seemed to be much to big for the size it,was a it on the small size but clean. Would go back but only for one or two days as room size is an issue. Breakfast was very good with a wide choice. The food at wedding reception was also very good. Well done to all of the staff.

Check in was quick and painless. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean with all usual suspects present. Comfortable bed and good multi-setting shower. Breakfast was excellent with a good and varied selection available. Sensibly priced bar and overall a very enjoyable stay. Small negative point is lack of communication from housekeeping regarding an item of clothing a left in my room when I checked out but that's a minor issue. Will definitely stay here again.

Good breakfast and a chef is on hand to cook items not on the buffet. I would have given this hotel 4 stars if it wasn't for the poor sleep quality. Easy parking, spacious reception and lounge areas, lovely staff. I was in a twin room with my sister-in-law and it was well laid out, it didn't feel crowded at all. The bathroom was also nice an roomy and the shower was great. Plenty of wardrobe space and drawers with all the amenities you'd expect - fridge, hairdryer, coffee & tea & hot chocolate, ironing board etc. etc. Air con was a little feeble but did the trick. Stayed there for a couple of nights while on a business trip. It's centrally located right in the heart of Nottingham and the main conference hall of the city. I got a double room which was not quite big. The bathroom looked a bit old and the room was not recently refurbished but overall satisfying especially for the reasonable price we paid. Location is great and value for money is also good. However, this is not a 4 star hotel. Maybe it used to be. I've been to Crowne Plazas elsewhere and they were impressive but not this branch. The room was too small for 2 people and the bathroom was outdated with a smell of smoke was coming from the ventilation. The breakfast buffet was rich although pastries could do with improvement. I should have known what to expect from a 1970s city centre hotel, for this was the era when bedrooms were built smaller than a prison cell in Baghdad. Externally, it's a truly awful building, brutal and unsympathetic to its surroundings, half of it being a concrete multi-storey car park (£13 a night). Public areas are on different levels, and the main bar and restaurant area is in a colonnade with a glass barrel roof: it could have been quite smart if the roof hadn't been green and filthy, an... The staff are always friendly. A great breakfast selection. A little noisy at night if you look over Rock City. Woken up at 2.45am but managed to get back to sleep. Although we've rated this as a 3 it's closer to a 4. Firstly hotel location is great really central to shops, concert hall and clubs too, the one way system can be tricky even for a Notts person but this isn't really the hotel's fault. Check In was really efficient and the staff were helpful we needed a cash machine and luckily the hotel has a pay one. Finding our room was really easy, there's no lengthy corridors to get lost in! I stayed here for two nights on a business trip, from arrival to check out the hotel staff went out for their way to make the stay welcoming. The room was nice and quiet and the buffet breakfast was a good standard and with a big selection. The restaurant is a nice setting more like a Mediterranean hotel and I liked it. I didn't use the spa/pool facilities but the pool looked good, I would recommend this hotel for both couples and a business visit. like I said great location.

I seem to remember as a youngster that this was the place to be when in Nottingham. Things must have changed as I thought this was a poor alternative to some other hotels in Notts. The place was tired and dated and needed a major overhaul to get it up to todays standards. The room was small and cramped, one lift wasn't working and the other took 15 minutes to get me to the 2nd floor. I didn't like the route to the car park as you had to go down to the bar level and walk through the atrium and ... Read more

I stayed in room 205 and was given it after asking for a quiet room on a higher floor. Clearly my needs were not that important. I was lucky that there was no night club on that night as my tiny dark room backed onto the roof of the club beneath. I could hear the constant sound of a generator all night and if I was staying longer I would have asked to move. This multi-layered hotel could be spectacular however it is worn out and in need of a lick of paint in some areas. That said the gym and... Read more

Stayed here for a night away from the baby! When I asked at reception if I could leave expressed breastmilk in a fridge, they arranged for us to be upgraded to an executive suite so we could have our own fridge! Then refunded the parking charge for the inconvenience. We used both the restaurant and pool, and both were clean and seemed organised.
