We came to Norwich to visit family. We found the hotel pleasant. It was clean & tidy. The staff were friendly & polite. We had an accessibility room for my husband - only downside no walk in shower & as he has Parkinson's just a bit of a struggle with stepping into a bath even though it was a very low one, however, all other aspects of the bathroom were very good & it was easy to get his wheelchair in & out. The hotel is in a good position on the main road into norwich town centre with plenty of parking and there is a park and ride into the city just down the road. The room we were given was very clean, tidy and fairly modern with tv and air con .The bathroom looked like it had just been refurbished with a bath length shower unit instead of a bath. Unfortunately the bathroom is so tiny you had to shut the door to be able to get in it. We had paid for breakfast and on both mornings were shown to a... Read more

Hotel seemed a little understaffed. Only one receptionist, so we had to queue for some time to check in and there were not enough staff at breakfast time, so we had to wait a long time for coffee etc. Our breakfast table was missing salt & pepper, spoons and a cup that fitted the saucer (minor stuff, but I noticed on the review below that the hotel said they reviewing their breakfast service). Didn't need the accomodation really as we live in Norwich but it was quite nice to have a comfortable room to go back to at the end of the night rather than travel home and it was a great price. We were welcomed by a very friendly receptionist who was helpful in answering any questions we had. She also signed us up to their reward card and we got free wifi. The room was clean and tidy and may have been recently re fitted.Reception was good, The breakfast was good, I ate in the hotel a couple of times and found the food in both the bar and the restaurant to be good although the service in the bar was much slower. Arrived tired and irritable and was greeted by such a lovely young lady who was on reception last Friday that she made the journey seem worthwhile. The hotel is ok but dated. Ive read many of the reviews on here about his hotel. I, for one, think this hotel is great. What makes the hotel great are the members of their team. From reception to restaurant, they all do their absolute best to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Yes of course there are things they could do better but ive stayed in hotels in other places that cost a lot more and they could still improve. I was here for 2 weeks before and will be there again soon and am looking forward to it!

I visited this hotel earlier in the year and reported the restaurant wasn't the best. I did a 3-night stay last week and things have much improved. I had a good stay and all meals were excellent. Ate in the bar a couple of times and the service as excellent (have the Chicken Pie, that's nice). The hotel was also fully booked because of the UEA's Graduation Ceremony but would wouldn't have known and it certainly made no difference to the service received.
