Only getting around to this review now but I stayed several months ago. It was a rather disappointing experience. Main issue is the product, the hotel rooms feel old hat now. They are comfortable but there is no finesse at all. A complimentary mars bar is not going to cut it these days. Most staff were great but the check in really unfriendly. We weren't paying a cheap rate and I did expect more.

The staff were very helpful and cheerful. Our room was comfortable and spacious;in fact it contained 2 double beds for 2 of us.We were on the 5th floor, at the back, which meant we had a grandstand view of the Norwich v Man United match. If not interested in football, avoid booking when they have a home game, as going out would be very difficult-crowds , traffic, closed roads nearby. But little noise from the match could be heard inside the hotel. TVs in public areas showed sports channels all ... Read more

Whilst moving from Shropshire to Norfolk, we use the hotel me a few times, my husband many times! Never been disappointed. Even on the football night, which I was worried for the noise, it was no problem at all. The staff is extremely helpful, the food is excellent and the room very comfortable. Finally, the price is extremely reasonable too. All in all, a great place to be, central and comfortable.

Came here Friday 3rd June for the weekend as we were going to Rod Stewart concert on the Saturday. We booked an executive room on the top floor and were very happy to have one with a view of the stage for the concert. Went out for a few drinks before returning for an early night after a 6 and half hour journey. The air conditioning units for the hotel were situated directly above our room 601. Very clean comfortable rooms. Booking in was very efficient, really pleasant staff. I had several problems with my door entrance card, this was dealt with promptly and they provided a new card which then worked every time. The only complaint I could make was the quality of the food. Breakfast was satisfactory with a good choice, although crockery was always running out. The evening meals were very basic, the worst thing for me was that they were lukewarm. We stayed the night of 4th of June for the Rod Stewart concert. I have read the reply of the general manager to another review and would like to know where he was on the Sunday morning when his lovely young staff were fielding all the complaints. His statement that we all came down at once was not true. We were down about 10 and two coach loads had already left. There was no queue and we were shown quickly to a table. One night stay for Rod Stewart concert with family and friends. Pitch view rooms very large and well equipped. Some time since we last stayed in a holiday inn and we were impressed and will certainly keep this chain in mind when we do our next city break. Breakfast was busy and a little under staffed considering the hotel was full. Other than that a very comfortable stay.

Good location about 10 minutes walk from railway station (much further from bus station). Buses handy nearby at Morrisons Supermarket (which has cashpoints). Check in was a little bit of a "faff on", with incorrect details on booking, however the lady on reception sorted it out, and rooms were available. Rooms were large & comfortable (with a double bed for each guest in a twin room). Breakfast was adequate, dinner was good in restaurant, and all staff friendly & helpful.

I think Holiday Inn offers great value for money and while it is a chain, you do get little touches that add to your comfort. The beds are wonderful, comfortable and roomy - and even in the most basic of rooms there's plenty of space to spread out, work or put things away. Clean, fresh and modern too And the breakfasts are worth missing every other meal of the day for.

This is a nice enough hotel with comfortable rooms and pleasant staff. However, for the cost I would have expected some decent toiletries instead of large tubes of shower gel and soap attached to the walls. Also I think charging for parking is a bit steep and there is the possibility of a £100 fine if you park in the wrong place! Be sure not to arrive when the football is coming out otherwise you won't even get down the street.

Stooped here with business and was well treated. It's spotless, friendly and well trained staff. Great view of the pitch from my window although I don't know if I paid more for that. Location pretty good , about 400 metres from the chain restaurants and maybe a mile from the city centre and a decent enough walk My room was quite big for a hol inn and the breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold. For me if as the right balance of convenience of a business hotel, location to walk to a ch... Read more

Hotel is clean, bedrooms are comfortable and staff are friendly and helpful but restaurant is small with a limited menu. It's more of a business hotel rather than leisure/pleasure and it is about a 15 minute walk from the city centre. Parking is extra.

Good place to stay, in the middle of the city so you can get where you want to go in no time. Very nice large rooms and clean. Staff are polite and kind and made me feel at home. Would definitely stay here again when I I need to stay away from home

Looking for two double rooms on Saturday night in December, we had little choice in Norwich. This place was fine, we could see the Carrow Road pitch from our window, although no match on! Room was quiet and it's only 15 minute easy walk into city centre. Breakfast buffet excellent. Free ample parking.
