A pleasant enough stay with a friendly welcome and helpful staff. Room was light and airy with a clean and comfortable bed. No desk, but there was a laptop table (or so the sticky label attached to it proclaimed!) but this was a rickety white plastic affair that one would normally encounter in a nursing home rather than a "boutique hotel". Wholly unsuitable if you had any serious work to do. Food was passable but unremarkable. Once the 12.5% service charge was added (nasty American habit) it b... Read more

Arrived late, given a very warm welcome and shown to my room. Room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was superb and freshly cooked. The waitress was very friendly and professional. Had a great stay, thanks to all your staff.

I've stayed in "The Grange" in April and May 2016 - this is a superior double bedroom with view over the front courtyard, a bathroom with rolltop bath and separate shower cubicle and a separate toilet. The hotel is wonderfully styled, every room is different and is set in a quiet location out of town so is peaceful after a busy day!

We stayed at The French Partridge for 1 night in May and would definitely recommend it. We got a great deal on the room which was £70 including breakfast. The hotel is well located for both Milton Keynes and Northampton but is in a secluded and quiet area to ensure you get a good night's sleep. We stayed in the Winterbottom (attic) room which was very spacious (bedroom, hallway with sofa & coffee table, bathroom). The French Partridge has a very homely feel and plenty of character. There was a ... Read more

We stayed one night as all other hotels around Northampton seemed to be fully booked or silly prices. We stayed in the Henry de Horton suite which was very comfortable and well equipped. The only downsides in the room were that the shower has one of those stupid shower heads - above your head. Personally, I do not want to wash my hair every time I go into the shower; and is useless for rinsing one's 'nether regions'! The breakfast room should have a tea pot and not a hot water thermos and tea ba... Read more

Over the years we have passed this Restaurant en route to and from Northampton and always wanted to go in and try it. In my view, it always looked very chic and upmarket with prices which made it a very special occasion only so never really took the commitment to sample its offering. With my wife's 60th birthday imminent, we wondered if this was an opportunity to visit but ultimately chickened out - aiming instead for a restaurant in Woburn. Imagine our delight when some old friends from many y... Read more

My husband n I had dinner with friends recently at the French Partridge The ambience is really great it feels as if you are in a period home which it is The prawn cocktail served as a salad was really good and I had Salmon for the main course It was just right correctly done And we had Churros for dessert easily the best we have had even beats the ones we have had in Spain

Whilst the entrance hallway and bar area do not give the best impression the rooms are large and well maintained. The restaurant was very good with both the food and service of the highest standard Would certainly visit again

We stayed in this hotel for two nights and the room was comfortable but on entering the room there were three steps down into the room immediately behind the door which made entering, especially with suitcases, very awkward. The bathroom was a bit cramped and the lock decided not to work whilst my husband was in there so he couldn't get out. Two members of staff came to help and had to pass a knife under the door so my husband could use it to free the lock.

Whilst my room was nicely presented, the bed was grossly uncomfortable. The mattress must have been made of marshmallow !! I thankfully only had to stay one night ( visiting friends nearby). Breakfast was rubbish !!!! It was miserly in size and poorly presented. Staff appeared incapable of conversation. I can confidently say I will never stay or eat here again. Oh yes and hugely overpriced.

Stayed here one night, our room was absolutely beautiful boutique hotel in rural village of Northamptonshire. Stayed in the Parr (name of the room) , very massive room, very very beautiful bathroom (Victorian) with a shower and separate toilet! Could see the garden from one of windows- didn't go to venture but looked well kept and beautiful! Room was clean, tea, coffee , biscuits provided. The bed was big & gorgeous and comfortable (just a bit squeaky) and the pillows were comfortable too. The l... Read more

We visited the area for a few days. The hotel is in a nice village and location. The room was lovely and was well appointed with tea/coffee and en-suite with bathroom niceties. I don't like to criticise but there were a couple of issues. One of them was: We needed to be out at 8am on the Saturday so asked if we could have breakfast earlier (8am was the breakfast start time on weekend). We weren't expecting full English, just some cereal and fruit but the initial reaction when we asked the night ... Read more

Pictures look great, reviews good overall so we booked this hotel. What a huge disappointment. Even when we pulled up in the car park we knew it wouldnt be great, there are lots of unfilled/dead flower pots scattered around, really tatty from the outside. Greeted by a very pleasant young lady who showed us to our room. Sadly the pictures must have been taken when first refurbished. "The Campion" Our room was dusty and grubby, and carpets need a blooming good clean. Lots of filler used every... Read more

The French Partridge? More like Fawlty Towers! Arrived Thursday afternoon, very nice gentleman on reception informed us our two rooms were ready, we only booked one. Oh well, saved another couple a night of misery. The Parr room was well equipped and tidy and the bathroom looked very nice. Information in the room told us a continental breakfast was served from 7:15 weekdays and a cooked meal from 7:30. Friday morning we made our way to the breakfast area, not one member of staff in sight. We ha... Read more

We stayed here with our two young children and in the Henry Horton suite. It was perfect for us as it had an adjoining room for our children so were able to watch a little to in the evenings without disturbing them. Breakfast was good, we found it a little difficult as our 1 year old is not quite chair ready but the good food kept her busy! Would definitely stay here again.

Having looked at reviews and photographs before booking, as we do not know the area we booked one night. Admittedly there was an odd negative one but in the main they were positive and lets face it you can't please everyone. However, on arrival to say we were disappointed is an understatement. While once it must of been a beautiful building sadly its kerb appeal is non existent with a myriad of plant pots full of dead plants and weeds, a gravel drive the same and a sunken garden at the front ... We booked 3 nights B& B at the French Partridge through booking.com from 9th to 12th September, as we were visiting friends and relatives in the area we did not use the restaurant so this review is for the hotel only. Check in was easy and quick and the young man helped us carry our luggage to the first floor via two sets of stairs. Our stay in "The Parr" suite was delightful. The house is an old fashioned traditional Georgian style house very tastefully decorated ( expect uneven creaking floo... Read more

My colleague booked us into the French Partridge as we had to attend a conference in Northampton. Having read the reviews, we spent the car journey to Northampton wondering what kind of Fawlty Towers-type place we were going to find! To say we had a pleasant surprise when we arrived is an understatement!!! Contrary to one review in particular, the outside of the building & grounds are well maintained and inviting. We were checked in by a girl who was obviously still being trained so it took a l... Read more

Everything was great, until I went to the bar, only bottles, nothing on draught, only cider was Magners at 4 pound for a 330ml bottle, not what we are used to down here in the West Country! Chef is spanish so dinner menu was heavily biased in that direction, lovely airy room, great bed, super fluffy towels, great breakfast, and terrific value
