I have just returned from my first visit to Cornwall in a very long time and as a single. Everything was excellent. It's a family run hotel and everyone makes you feel very welcome. Any special dietary needs are catered for. The food is excellent and varied with a new evening meal menu every day. You really couldn't ask for more.

This is a wonderful place to stay when visiting Newquay. I stayed here for 1 night on 23 April with my 2 young children, we were pleasantly greeted on arrival by Fiona the owner and were taken to our room which was beautifully situated near the outdoor pool. I cannot praise this hotel highly enough, the standards are excellent, the room well appointed and the pool and pool are clean and nicely landscaped. Breakfast in the morning was very good with plenty on offer and service with a smile. You ... Read more

This is a lovely family run hotel. Staff could not be friendlier. We were in room 2. It had a balcony - was at the front of the hotel facing the road. However that did not stop us using it. Was not noisy. We chose to eat out rather than in the hotel and the receptionist could not have been more helpful - she gave us precise directions, using a short cut to the centre of town. A 10 minute walk. Be aware if you are not fit to come back the slightly flatter route as the way back using the shortcut ... Read more

A very friendly hotel. The owners and staff were very attentive, nothing was too much trouble. We have booked for next year. The food was fantastic and generous portions. Our room was comfortable by the pool. Great.

We spent four nights in this great hotel when visiting the Eden Project and the Scilly Isles . Staff were so helpful and the service was excellent. The food was amazing. Simple rooms - ours was three steps from the wonderful outdoor pool.

We came on a break before we get married... We had a room with a balcony and it was lovely, nothing too fancy (we don't like too fancy) but friendly atmosphere and very personal. We had such a beautiful view, wonderful breakfast and they were helpful in telling us where was nice to eat out. It's so close to the town, even with torn ligaments we walked to fistral beach and around town, not a 2 minute walk to town but you don't have the rowdy drink people at night!! (We are 24 and 27) We will defi... Read more

We stayed at this Hotel as part of a tour group and as anyone who has ever been on a coach tour will know the hotels used can be pretty hit or miss. This one was a definite hit. We had a great room to the back (not luxurious but perfectly adequately furnished) over looking the pool and garden and with a sea view - very quiet and clean. The food in dining room was very good and always had a veggie option on the menu, the were very flexible with dining times because of reversals in our timetable a... Read more

We stayed for 7 days at the priory and everything was just perfect. The owner Fiona was absolutely great she worked day and night bless her and her staff were fantastic too. Food was to die for something different on the menu each evening and it was multiple choice on the menu. We will be returning without a doubt.

I stayed here for 3 nights with my 2 sons and my severely Disabled Daughter, I can't find one fault with this place or the staff! They were extremely accommodating of all of my needs for myself and my children and especially the needs of my Daughter. The food is amazing too, I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Cornwall from now on! It's a lovely homely feel too, clean, safe and all to a very high standard. It's the best hotel we've ever stayed at and look forward to going again. There isn't anythin... Read more

I have visited the hotel several times over the last decade; the hotel staff, management team and the chef are fantastic. The food is lovely, the rooms are clean, and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. If you get a sea view - then I can highly recommend watching the sunset from the balcony, with a glass of wine from the bar! My mum has celebrated her birthday at the Priory Lodge a few times and they are always keen to make sure she has a great time.

We returned to The Priory Lodge Hotel this year after a few years break. Cannot fault anything at the Priory Lodge, the rooms are clean and nicely decorated, the meals are varied and plentiful, the staff are welcoming, the hotel is walking distance to the town centre but far enough away so as not to be affected by the noise from the nightlife, there is free parking at the front of the hotel. the outdoor pool is clean and warm with plenty of seating, the evening entertainment is good family fun an... Stopped one night. We were in a sea view room (view lovely), the room very tired, shower hopeless, toilet didn't flush properly, one plug socket in the whole room and to be honest the room smelt a bit musty and we had an awful smell of drains from the bathroom through the night. Breakfast lovely though and all the staff very pleasant. Sorry wouldn't return as our room let it down.

The hotel is very well run by the very likable Fiona (who turns up everywhere) and her friendly experienced team. Attention to detail is paramount and nothing is too much trouble. The chef produces food of a high standard with lots of it. Plenty of choices at breakfast both hot and cold. Rooms may be idiosyncratic but that just adds to the charm. Highly recommended and clearly many have the same opinion judging by all the repeat guests.

A family run hotel that is very family and couples friendly..nothing is too much trouble Friendly helpful attentive staff Gorgeous breakfast..fabulous choices. Evening meal if you wish. The hotel is large and very clean if a little dated in places. Lovely pool and patio/garden areas to relax in. Incredible views of Newquay harbour, beaches and cliffs from the dining room and many of the rooms.. truly panoramic views from the hotel which is a five minute walk from the town and beach but away fro... As usual we enjoyed a fantastic annual break at The Priory Lodge. Fiona took care of us and met all our requests. The room was lovely and what a view! It's difficult to think what more could be done to improve our holiday experience. Already booked for next year. Thanks Fiona and team.

Really good food & lovely welcome by Fiona however, the room in which we stayed in was such a massive let down. Very outdated & tired with a stale, musty smell. Very poor quality bedding, curtains and decor thought the hotel. My family and I would not return ??? ?????????

Fiona was very accommodating of my situation with trouble on British Rail and trying to get to Newquay, in the end I abandoned trying to get there, but I was able to contact Fiona very late at night, she could not have been more helpful and holding my room for me. As this was a last minute booking I delighted with the hotel and my room, being a woman alone I felt very secure there. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will have no hesitation in booking th... Read more

I travelled to Newquay by train alone to spend 3 nights at this Hotel. The walk took less than 10 minutes and straightforward. Fiona and her team were very friendly welcoming and helpful. The views at the back of the Hotel are lovely and there is a pretty swimming pool. I am a landlocked midlander and would have adored a sea view but my room was up in the roof at the front of the Hotel. I had a newly refurbished bathroom but could not get the shower to work properly. Either hot or cold. The noi... Read more
