We stayed at this hotel for one night, as a stop off to Pembrokeshire. It was lovely, new and clean. The beds were comfy and the hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. There was an excellent choice for breakfast. I would definitely stay there again.

Great hotel great staff. Comfy rooms and food was great too. Had a slight problem with our room so were offered an immediate upgrade free of charge. Good location and facilities are excellent. Nothing to complain about. Would happily stay there again

Can't say anything bad with the Hotel though the place is to far from the Center no place to roam around, only way to buy food is by Delivery or nearby Subway and Sawyer Bar & grill. If you want to go shopping or just buy anything from the stores you have to take a taxi going to the Center, taxi fare from Hotel to Center is a little expensive.

Very comfortable hotel, very clean good sized rooms, great shower, iron and board in room, very little noise from the M4 so a good night sleep had Went across the car park, two minutes walk to Sawyers diner, another good place [separate review]. Breakfast was ok adequate but nothing special. Staff as always are very attentive

I booked early and got a very good price, seemed a bit out of the way but ok if you drive! Check-in was not good chap on the phone so stood waiting another group came in behind and he served them first! The hotel and room were lovely and very clean. Breakfast, the hotel was full up, we waited nearly 15 minutes to get plates and cutlery and by this time we had to wait for more food! But the food was of a very good standard that when i did get some it was lovely. I had friends staying at this hote... Read more

Reception is friendly and it's a new hotel so looks nice. Large lounge area. Rooms are good size and better than other budget hotels. But oh the breakfast. We have stayed here twice, each time for 2 nights so have experienced 4 chaotic breakfasts. Insufficient staff, food, plates, cutlery - you name it they can do it! Such a shame.

We must have stayed here on the same night as Fosseboy, because man was breakfast a shambles! They didn't seem to have enough cutlery, plates, food or staff to deal with a full house and a LOT of people were visibly frustrated. The layout of the place didn't help - too small and poorly designed. Definitely avoid the rush, which when we stayed looked to last until 10am or so. The room itself was great. We didn't have any water when we arrived, but that was soon remedied and the staff were very a... Read more

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. The reception staff were friendly. The room was a good size. But breakfast was another story. Too many people in such a small space not enough plates, cutlery, mugs, food or staff. Would stay here again.

Wanted a good value hotel / motel prior to going to the outrageously priced celtic manor. What a find. Big rooms with twin beds the size of doubles. Good bathroom and shower. Stunning views across the estuary. 5 mins from Mayor with decent pubs and shop. Good free parking. Bar area tidy. No restaurant but you do get 10% off Sawyers which is needed as slightly overpriced for a burger joint. Breakfast very good with hot and cold options. Staff very friendly and helpful. Only small issue in that... Read more

We frequently use this hotel when in the local area. The rooms and service are always fantastic, as is the complimentary breakfast ! (continental, cooked and lovely coffee). I would definitely advise to book early as the hotel can get very busy. Recommended :-)

A great stay at a nicely furnished hotel with excellent staff, nice touch having Simply Red playing in the Bar area, as we and many other guests were attending a Simply Red concert at Chepstow race night. Great pint of Stella as well!

Hit and miss. Two stays here. First was soon after it opened and it was very good aside from the chaos at breakfast. And most recently in June it was an awlful stay. Blocked drains.... Poor quality duvets.... Hot breakfast that was inedible. Thank goodness they had toast.

Very good cheaper alternative to Cardiff city centre Hilton. Room very good. Self-service breakfast. Well cooked food and nice selection, but no special requests like porridge or fried eggs. On quiet "industrial" area opposite a brewery. Only noise was from other guests who were a bit worse for wear coming in in the middle of the night.

We used this hotel on our return from Pembroke. It is very conveniently situated by the M4 at J23a. It is modern, well equipped and breakfast is complimentary. A good range of hot and cold food is provided for breakfast. The rooms are adequate but some of the"accessible" rooms, although very well equipped, are as far away from reception as possible on the 4th floor. The hotel has good lifts available but may be a tight fit for wheelchair users.

Glad to have no stairs for a change, so that was fine. Very busy when we stayed there, there was a wedding on, so the bar facilities was very busy and had to wait a while for our meal. Room was clean and modern.

I've stayed here several times for one night at a time, and have always found it very clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the location excellent. The rooms are adequately sound proofed, so there is no noise from the motorway, which is only a few hundred metres away! The only disappointment is the breakfast (which is included in the room rate). The cooked items don't seem very fresh, and the sausages are rather wet from the steam in the holding unit... The pastries/cof... Read more

If you are looking for a hotel that's got everything you need and close to the M4 motorway then you can't get better than this. A clean modern hotel, just off junction 23A, with a large free car park which is ideal as you probably need a car to get around. The hotel is on a small office park but does have a subway and a bar/grill about a minutes walk away. I believe food is available in the hotel, but we only had time for the included breakfast during our 2 night stay. There is a good range of h... Read more

The location of the hotel is quite convenient, right next to the M4. The price per night was very reasonable. The receptionist was friendly and we were quickly checked in, no problem. The room is small but very clean however the beds were not up to standard, I asked for a mattress topper for the sofa bed as it was really uncomfortable. The lady at reception was brilliant and quickly arranged it. As it is on an industrial estate, there are not a great deal of choices for food except Subway and an... Read more

We stayed here prior to going to Cardiff tow arch the cricket. The rooms are nice and clean, although he bed was 'lumpy' but did not affect sleep. The staff are fantastic and a great team in operation, particularly Aaron who was Duty Manager. Very efficient and professional, yet friendly and welcoming. Good hospitality. However, what lets this hotel down, as I believe also lets the brand down, is the breakfast experience. It just doesn't work with the flow of people when remotely busy. N... Read more

Clean, Quiet and great internet access. Perfect for work and relaxing after the work day. I spent the weekend at a show during the day 4 miles from the Celtic Manor and the Hampton offered great access and enough distance away to chill out. Plenty of parking (as i drive a van) and great access to the M4 East/West.

After having a terrible experience in a Doubletree by Hilton hotel in London the night before this we were a bit dubious, however we needn't have been. Everything from check in, the room, the breakfast, the cleanliness, the comfort, was completely perfect! We've stayed in the Hampton by Hilton Sheffied hotel earlier in year and that too was good so it seems they are consistent-will definitely book again

A four-night stay here and perfectly satisfied. Modern hotel, built especially for the Ryder Cup a few years back. Not exactly a destination, stuck on a busy motorway junction, but very convenient if travelling into Wales or back to England. Large, clean, well-appointed room, well-presented breakfast buffet with a decent choice. Sadly, limited restaurant facilities for the evening, but they do recommend Sawyers a few steps away from the front door. No noise from the motorway despite it being a s... Read more

checkout experience. We had a very uncomfortable first night as room was very hot and air con didn't respond to any changes we made to it. I reported it to reception the following morning. Maintenance were called and it was sorted whilst we were out for the day. Information in room states if you are not entirely happy we don't expect you to pay. I was happy with two out of our three nights stay. On checking out of hotels customers are usually asked "was everything OK with your stay?". There ... Read more

We used to stay at Hilton Newport, but it got taken over by Celtic manor! So we tried out Hampton by Hilton on a free night with hhonners points. Yes, the hotel is very near the motorway, but it wasn't too noisy! Its not a very busy road all the time. Check in was friendly, yet efficient. The room was a good size, as was the bathroom. I booked the hotel to stay for my son's graduation in Cardiff . The hotel was excellent value for money and clean However I could not open my window in the room and there needed to be instructions for the air conditioning unit. The breakfast and the range was good and I managed to find a range to eat as a vegetarian. However there was not enough fruit for breakfast .

I had planned to stay at another hotel, but with the expected heat, A/C was a must and this hotel delivered! Plenty of free parking, good speed free wifi, hot breakfast complimentary. Room 323 was big and comfy, with a sofa and large shower. Note that the modern room layout involves a frosted glass door which serves as both wardrobe and bathroom door, but provides minimal privacy in my opinion so I wouldn't stay here with anyone who I was uncomfortable with knowing my bathroom business!

Whilst hotel is in an "out of town" location in a way, there are little villages nearby. In addition it is ideally located close to motorways into south Wales. Very much a travellers hotel you could say. Buffet style breakfast bar worked well despite number of guests. Rooms are modern and functional. Only problem we had was related to parking. My family and I stayed for 2 nights in July. The staff was very friendly the entire time we were there. The hotel was very clean. Maid service was very nice and even replaced all our towels after our first morning. My only complaint was the sofa bed. Fourth stay at the Hampton, always cosy at the hotel and the facilities are all modern and clean. TV is a bit small in these days if larger wall mounted panels in the newer type hotels. Breakfast not as fresh as previous visits, but waffle maker always a winner. As is coffee machine. Free parking a real plus along with location and nearby services.

Good to return to one of our favourite stops in this part of Wales. Always a good welcome and a great breakfast which sets us up for a day of adventures. Rooms spacious and modern in design and we have had great views of the Severn Estuary. Although a good sleep the mattress is probably in need of a change, we could feel the springs.
