You really need to invest in slow/soft door close mechanisms because the amount of people that don't know how to close a door is unbelievable. If i had £1 for every door slammed it'd have paid for the whole stay. Not getting to sleep til late because of it and being woken up 2-3h before alarm isn't ideal. I've ear plugs but still woken up because some just let go of their door from the furthest point, it shakes the walls & room. Ridiculous. Maybe some signs to encourage people not to just let... This was a very good hotel, we stayed for 2 nights (Friday to Sunday). Very relaxing, spa was very good as was gym. In terms of location it is pretty much in the middle of no where and so you will need a car to get to places. The town of Cwmbran has so many shops to choose from and again is nicely set out. The breakfast at the hotel was lovely, lots of choice and will be filled up if empty. The only down side is that the shower in the rooms are not particularly powerful. Wouldn't return mainly b... The afternoon tea is a real delight, service was excellent. Jordan and Lauren were very attentive and knowledgeable without being overbearing. The selection of goodies on the platters were very tempting, with my mother polishing off both the welsh cakes before I could eat one - she loved them so much. I will definitely be going back.

I found the hotel quite nice and most of the staff very helpful hopeful however a couple of the members of staff made my stay very uncomfortable. I generally do not leave reviews but on this occasion I felt it necessary to do so. The lady on the front desk, Charlotte I believe not only provided incorrect information, if I asked her a question it seems as though I was taking up her precious time. On the other hand restaurant staff were great and the food is lovely.

Coleg Gwent hosted their annual BTEC Showcase exhibition in the Crystal Suite at the Parkway Hotel, Wednesday 8th June 2016. The event was a resounding success, facilitated by excellent cooperation from staff at the hotel. Everything was organised and carried out efficiently with a smile and helpful manner. I was told when I arrived to 'ask for Cath' and after asking, I could see why! Cath could not have prepared the event any better, and our guests had a wonderful time. We will certainly be ... Had a lovely party here for my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. The room we had was lovely, clean and tidy. The staff working at the parkway were willing to help with anything, especially Rhian who helped putting up banners and generally helping out. Also kelly/ Kellie who really made sure our room was clean and tidy. Thank you for a brilliant time and making the little things extra special!

Found the hotel very easily as signposted from main road, huge car park and very well looked after grounds. Hotel very clean and receptionist very friendly. My room was a good size and had a good view, everything was clean and tidy. I ate in the restaurant and had the carvery which was a good price and was very nice. I had a good night stay apart from someone let there door slam late at night but not a sound after that. All in all a much nicer stay than the other hotels in the area.

Rooms are very comfortable, with a good seating area - not always the case elsewhere! Good bar/public areas, with a great restaurant and decent bar snacks. Staff are helpful and friendly. A table in the smoking hut would be very welcome!

Treated my wife to a spa night. Despite the hotel catering for a wedding (which we were not part of), we never felt as if we were surplus to requirements - unlike at another hotel we stayed in last year. Customer service was excellent and spot on, the facilities as advertised and top of the range, and the soundproofing ensured we didn't hear the wedding. Minor points; we went out for food so can't offer an opinion on that, there was only one staff member in the spa who had a lot to do - you need... Read more

I will turly go back there again. The only problem is that it is only 4 stars when it should be turly 5 stars.

The prices are reasonable. The surroundings is beautiful. Log fire on, comfortable settee and a lattee. Bliss. The only downside was that no one was behind the counter to serve us our coffees. I stood there like a lemon for an unreasonable amount of time with staff walking past, totally ignoring the fact that I was waiting to be served. Hey, we eventually got served so all good. The following week I treated my son and mother to a lunch. Very nice. Wasn't sure if the half of a wasp we found in ... Read more

With a glamorous scroll backed stand alone bath it was the perfect place to sip some fizz and relax. We nearly moved it was so spacious and very well appointed. A very pleasant one night's stay with plenty of amenities. A spacious hotel with lovely leisure facilities. This was a popular wedding venue with two wedding receptions going on and they also managed to cater for our group of 50+ for a barbecue! Staff were very helpful, breakfast was superb with all palettes catered for. One down side was I would have like to see some water dispensers?!

Excellent day for our Mum's birthday treat! We enjoyed the spa facilities... We spent hours in the pool and sauna! The only negative point was the fact it was absolutely boiling in the seating area and you couldn't get hold of anyone to get a drink at the bar. Other than that our experience of the spa was excellent. After an afternoon relaxing at the spa facilities, we enjoyed afternoon tea - it was out of this world - absolutely amazing. Lovely day for our mums birthday ??

Over all a faultless effort and will absolutely be coming back!! Even if it is just once a year. The food is great too.

We asked for the food and wine Menus whilst sitting in the bar area - waited about 20 minutes but we were forgotten. When we did eventually order our food was inedible - we tried..but it was really not nice - the lamb must have been on the hills for a few years - we complained and the Manager said that he would have a word with the Chef..and offered us a free desert..well, we don't eat desserts..a refund would have been nice,.I followed up the complaint the following morning with the Reception... As soon as we arrived, we couldn't believe that nothing had change for 31 years... It was so dated and tired, even though we read that the bedrooms had had an update, the furniture was very old, but the bathrooms were fine. It felt like an old peoples home, especially when they stopped serving in the restaurant at 9pm...The receptionists didn't have any authority to help in any way. Never again, prices were even the same as other 5* hotels and in my opinion this should be a 3*. Hope this helps .... Read more

Not such a warm welcome, the place was packed and hosts meetings, all kinds of events and is mainly a stop gap for business people. The bar staff were very rude and not willing to help, I shared this when I left and there was hardly an apology. The spa and my room was dirty, but looked nice first glance, if you try to swim in the pool you get hair in your mouth. On a positive the restaurant service was excellent and the breakfast was nice, but I wouldn't go here to relax and use the spa ever ... Read more

My Fiance and I recently celebrated our engagement party at the Parkway Hotel in Cwmbran. The night went without a hitch (no pun intended). The whole experience for us was excellent. This venue isn't located in the heart of everything, but that's what made it charming. With its bare brick walls, huge fireplaces and colourful tartan soft furnishings, I immediately felt warmly welcomed. The staff were every efficient at booking us all in without delay and running through the necessities (which some hotels forget). My room was much cosier than many white wash hotel rooms. It had high quality bedding which was immaculate, as was the whole hotel. This was the comfiest bed and ... Read more

I hate to write a negative review about a place I have stayed at for 30 years but I feel standards and service is slipping. Main gripes during this stay - when I arrived went for a run then took a shower and discovered half my bathroom lights and vent did not work (we won't mention the shower curtain). I reported this to reception and they advised it would be done in the morning, two days and steam baths later nothing despite a further moan. Heating in room non existent so I freeze. WiFi in room... We have stayed at the hotel twice now. The dinner in the restaurant was top quailty. The steak was cooked perfectly and the guinea foul was moist and full of flavour. The rooms are nice and spacious with comfy warm beds. The breakfast was really nice. Plenty of choice. We both had back neck and shoulder massages which was very nice and relaxing. Would go back anytime.

I didn't spend enough time here but was very welcoming, traditional feel and impeccably clean! The rooms are a little dated but they are incredibly spacious and clean which is far more important than how modern the furniture is. I am staying here again next week and hope to enjoy the amenities more this time around.

There were a hundred of us in a male voice choir with wives and family that descended on this lovely hotel to stay for a few days.
