This is a lovely modern hotel with a great location right in the city centre. Only a few hundred metres from the Newcastle train station and Grey Street, perfect. Cost to stay was great value for this standard of accommodation. The rooms are modern, well decorated and comfortable with lots of nice touches. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant (Marco Pierre White) which was excellent. It has a lively modern atmosphere in the reception and bar area and our stay was without fault. Staff are a... Immaculate rooms, attentive staff. Nothing was too much and the attention to detail in the rooms is what made this stay truly special. I highly recommend this hotel. Clean and a complimentary fridge with drinks, crisps and chocolate. The lemonade was very much appreciated at 5am when I woke up with a mouth like ghandis flip flop. Thank you so much

Stayed with several friends for the rugby weekend. Ideally placed for stadium and train station plus all city centre restaurants and attractions. Staff were excellent especially the young lady booking people into breakfast. Don't know her name but she coped superbly with what was no doubt an unusual volume over a weekend. As with most city centre hotels I always get a bit miffed at having to pay to park!

We stayed Friday night at the Indigo, on a Travelzoo deal which included a 3 course meal in the hotel's Marco Pierre White restaurant. In addition to this, I had booked a second night separately, but messed up and booked for Sunday!! Because of a major sporting event in the city, the hotel was fully booked on Saturday - ouch! However, Omar, on reception tried tirelessly to rectify the situation, even buying my wife and I a round of drinks - to compensate for MY mistake!! We were assured by Omar ... Read more

For my birthday I received a voucher for two to go make (and drink) cocktails. What great fun. Tom was our barman and really looked after us, we were in the public bar area but were discretely separated by using high backed chairs to partially screen the area off. We were not rushed into anything and enjoyed canapés with each drink. Fabulous treat, great way to spend an afternoon.

Stayed here on a BB and evening meal deal from travelzoo. Our room was modern with a lovely bathroom. The only negative with our 4th floor room was the high window with no view. Breakfast was excellent , self service and also dishes to order. The MPW steakhouse had a special menu for our evening meal deal which didn't include steak! so we ordered from the a la carte menu with £25 each towards our meals. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the friendly staff and service.

Room was very nice - modern, clean, comfortable & with everything you need/want at a 4*. My only complaint would be that breakfast definitely wasn't 4* standard & was certainly not worth the £12 p.p! I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Emma at reception was particularly helpful. My room was clean and quiet. The breakfast variety was good and the service generally swift. We stayed here on sat 26th Nov 2016. We booked quite late and ended up paying £245 for bed and breakfast. The room was very clean but lacked character. The room had a shower only, we prefer to have a bath. Breakfast was very chaotic, we queued for about 10 mins. Breakfast was buffet style and to be honest it wasn't the best we have ever had. They seemed to be understaffed resulting in poor service. For the price we paid, we will never stay there again.

Great location in city; that's the good bit, stayed in room 101, large room but heating was not working. I complained to front desk who said heating doesn't work if you set it at 29 degrees 'you have to start at 23 and work your way up the scale over time'. Tried that. Failed. Second request response was we will send you up a heater, that'll work. Mini electric heater arrived, good if you want to warm up the wardrobe but not a large bedroom! Cold all night. On checking out I waited for reception... Read more

The hotel is in a good position for all city activities. Was a bit worried it would be full of hen nights/party goers but was pleasantly surprised by the mixture of guests. Only came across one loud group whose language was quite bad and did lower the tone in the bar area. Reception staff were very good and responsive to a small problem in the room. Room very clean and of a good standard. Bar and table staff very friendly and efficient, especially Colleen who despite having done a long day ... Read more

Great hotel situation, quiet but near the city's attractions.Very warm welcome in reception, and a birthday bar of chocolate for my husband was a king gesture Rooms are lovely and comfortable, some signs of wear and tear. Our waiter Robert was brilliant, hard working knowledgable and attentive.Praise to the chefs as the food was so tasty Breakfast was freshly cooked which we love as so many places have hot buffet,so gr... Stayed here one night on a travel zoo voucher. Everything was perfect from arrival to departure. Staff were brilliant, so friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was perfect. The hotel was clean and they thought of everything, free minibar ( no alcohol). Sky tv, free wifi and Aveda products which I love. Free car parking and a bottle of procecco in the room included in the deal. Plenty of choice on the three course menu. Fab location. It was a fab experience and would definitely book t... Read more

Good location but not great value. The room facilities were similar to those of a Premier Inn, give or take a minibar and some complimentary toiletries. We had the misfortune to book when Newcastle United were playing at home and the hotel car park was full, meaning that we had to park some distance away and carry bags across the town. You need to arrive well before kick off (which means well before official check-in time) or well after the final whistle. On the plus side, our parking costs... Read more

Good food... but we're being ignored... we've had to ask for service each step of the way..... if we were a table of girls we'd be fine, but we're not... maybe more staff and those who realise in which turn to serve a table....we waited 30 mins from dessert menu being presented to order being taken...

We are just on our second day of a two night stay at the Indigo. Rooms are modern and clean and tidy and facilities include a small gym, bar and restaurant. Breakfast was above average and buffet style so you won't go hungry. Staff are all friendly and there are plenty of them around. The location is ideal for anyone looking to be near to both the bars and restaurants but also the shops and other attractions.
