We were upgraded when we arrived which was a nice touch. Easy parking and lovely lobby and bar area. We did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment. Room was comfortable. Was around £5-7 in to Newcastle as hotel in suburb of Jesmond. Very functional hotel but don't go here if you are looking for a taste of Newcastle - you could be anywhere!

I agree with the previous reviews; this is a nice hotel with friendly and efficient staff members. The food was very good too. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. My only gripe was the road noise and hearing folk in the street through the night, which meant sleep was hard to find.

Only stayed one night and given an upgrade to executive room, which was excellent. Spacious, well furnished and lovely refurbished bathroom with walk in shower (no bath) Desk area if you needed to work too. Complimentary robes and water/juice/kitkat and nice toiletries. Lightly stocked mini bar but no price list, this didn't matter as we had a lovely drink in the open bar area within the foyer. We were here as part of a group, staying in the apartments annex attached to the hotel. It's a really nice spot and offered good value. The breakfast was fantastic, with a good choice of fresh quality offerings. The apartments themselves were modern, clean and very comfortable. I'm sure the rooms in the main hotel are the same. Unfortunately they let themselves down on some of the smaller things (otherwise rating would have been "Very Good"). The outside is quite dirty, especially at the apartm... Read more

Stayed for one night, room was rather compact with not much space between bed and wardrobe. Bathrooms are a good size with excellent shower. Nice touch with complimentary juice, water and chocolate. Would probably stay again if deal was right. Good location for Jesmond bars and restaurants and free parking. All in all a decent hotel for a one night stay.

Stayed 2 nights in this hotel whilst on a business trip to Newcastle. The hotel has free parking, which was a big plus for us, and is situated about a 20 minute walk away from the city center. We booked the Holiday Inn as we were attending a family wedding at The Mansion House, which is only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. We had never stayed at a Holiday Inn before, so were unsure of what to expect. Happily, I can say that any uncertainty was unwarranted. The hotel was really rather good. The rooms were very well appointed, clean and quiet. Our room was facing the main road, but the excellent double glazing kept out all road noise. I stayed here for two nights over a weekend. The room was fine and clean, if a little cramped. There was little security in the building as you could walk from the carpark onto the first floor and access the rooms without going past reception. If the door was closed properly this wouldn't happen but is wasn't the whole time I was there. I didn't eat in the hotel but I did have a drink. I paid £15.90 for two glasses of wine!! The welcome was very nice and the reception staff were very helpful through the stay. The room was very average - clean enough but a little shabby, bedside lights not working, that sort of thing. When we returned in the evening there was a wedding disco on so they arranged for us to go to the top floor where it was quiet (why would they not do this for a pair of 'oldies' when we checked in?). Chose this for ease of access to city and for free secure parking. Both of which are excellent. Everything about the stay was fine. Good clean room, perfectly adequate breakfast. Downside was the room we had overlooked the busy main road and was very noisy. The air con didn not work and to get some air meant opening the window and increasing the noise. Was good value for money and the positives far outweigh the negatives. Will return again.

Good location just outside city centre but with free parking which is at a pricey premium at city centre hotels. Very nice room with excellent shower. Great breakfast in the morning with plenty of choice. Very friendly and helpful staff. Overall good value for money and a pleasant experience.
