This is a well run hotel, with a nice pool and spa. Breakfasts were good but the first night of our stay the main restaurant appeared to be closed and we ate at the adjoining pub. The staff could not have been more helpful when a member of our party felt ill and had to leave, but the food itself was only adequate. The following evening, the main restaurant was already booked and could not take us so we had a light meal in the lounge - it was a peaceful setting and the service was excellent. ... Read more

I'v stayed in this hotel a few times now and have always been impressed, the surroundings are lovely and it's nice to have a walk around the hotel grounds. The rooms have always been immaculate and the staff could not be any more friendly and helpful, it maybe a little "dated" but this fits well with the hotel and adds to the charm. The spa areas is nice with a relaxing atmosphere, and again very helpful and friendly staff. The food in both the restaurant and pub is amazing !! And a very imp... Read more

Linden Hall is a historic Georgian country house hotel. We stayed for three nights in May 2016 on a room only basis. The first room we had was at the back and was very tired. It needed re-decorating and was above a noisy air conditioning vent and the rear exit used by staff to wheel rubbish and laundry out. The main problem though was the size of the window which was too small for the room and low down on the wall so the room had a gloomy feel. As a listed building there is little that can ... Read more

This was our second visit to Linden Hall and overall it was a positive experience. It is in a lovely setting and the village of Longhorsely is very pleasant. This time we stayed in a standard room which was not as nice as the executive room we occupied last time. It just seemed a bit jaded and in need of refurbishment. The bed is not particularly big and had no valance to cover the base, making it look very shabby. It also had some strange curtain thing around the headboard which really was not a... Read more

We stayed here on an Itison voucher which included cream tea and breakfast. The hotel itself is charming, albeit a little in need of TLC. The pool area was good, but the changing rooms were quite dirty. Our room was on the first floor, and the floors were a bit creaky, so you could hear upstairs loudly walking about. We ate in the Linden Tree Pub, the service was ok but the food was nothing special. In the morning we had breakfast in the Dobson Restaurant. The hot food is cooked to order, but wh... Read more

My wife and I enjoyed an excellent overnight stay. I found the pool, sauna and steam room in the spa to be well organized, clean and a pleasant way to start the day, before a first class breakfast. The location is good and there is a lot of information about sites worth visiting nearby.

we stayed in the hotel for my sisters wedding, which i can stress enough how friendly the bar staff were in the venue, we paid a large amount of money to stay at linden hall that night expecting a nice room for the price we had paid but what we got was a hot box big enough for a bed and a weird sewage smell. when i approached the night porter we were met with nothing but hostility like we had offended him. we the proceeded to go to the bar which is open all night for a drink, same porter working... Spa awful, dirty, paint peeling, and young girl who did my friends treatment then my treatment had never done them before & was talked through how too before hand. Not Elemis trained. Treatment rooms are the worst I have ever been in. Depressing, stained and music does not work so not relaxing at all. Would not recommend at all.

Not a four-star visit, but three seems a bit mean. This review is in respect of a golf and hotel stay and reflects both aspects. As far as the hotel is concerned, the room we had was very good: not much more to be said - couldn't expect more. The staff were excellent - attentive without being intrusive: a bit harassed in a full restaurant on Sunday evening. (Given that a good number of visitors are golfers, and we do like a pint, I just don't get it why up-market hotels seem to believe that the... Read more

Stayed at this hotel on 4 occasions. The staff are really helpful you could not fault them. The hotel is looking like it needs upgrading. The restaurant is closed Monday to Thursday so you have to eat in the Linden Tree Pub attached to the hotel whilst the pub is fine and food ok you don't except to stay in a 4 star hotel and use the pub for evening meal. I feel if you are having pub food then stay in a pub!! The swimming pool areas really is in need of a upgrade thought is very shabby. The hote... Read more

My wife and I recently stayed at the Linden Hall hotel for a midweek break. We booked the hotel on a dinner bed and breakfast basis in an executive garden view room. We found the staff all very friendly and helpful. Our room was fantastic great views and very clean. The food was ok but not sure why we had to eat in the adjacent pub as the hotel was quite busy. However, the room was extremely dated and tired with a threadbare bed base and a bathroom in dire need of replacement. The staff were most helpful and friendly, we were disappointed our treatments were not booked for a time that we had requested but was given a late check out time to stop us rushing around on departure morning and upon arrival we were informed they had managed to change out treatment times. It was very much appreciated. Will definitely be returning.

We enjoyed our weekend very much especially the spa treatments and facilities and found the hotel staff very helpful. The only complaint would be that there was no mention of only having £25 per person to spend on our evening meal when booking and that only the sample menu was available in the Dobson restaurant on Fridays and Saturdays which was £40. Having said that, we chose the sample menu on our first night which was excellent.

The bunkers were virtually without sand, and the greens horribly slow. Our sandwiches on arrival were cold having been made well in advance and refrigerated.
