I stayed in a standard room and it was STANDARD... The over the bath shower didn't accommodate for guests over 5"8 and was tired and worn. My room was close to what I assume was a staff room because in the morning it was quite noisy and when jesting my roon I saw a number of staff leaving from a door up the corridor. The breakfast was below average, tasteless and lacked imagination... The staff were polite, however one of the staff who served me my coffee at the bar after I'd checked out che... Read more

I??m struggling to find fault in this hotel, but neither can I find anything to write home about, the entire stay just had a ho-hum factor about it. Maybe that??s just MK itself, which is pretty soulless. The hotel is too, it??s functional, no more or no less. The staff I dealt with were friendly and helpful when they needed to be, I ate at the bar one night and had a top notch burger, but there is still something not quite right about the hotel as a whole. I think this hotel used to be a Trusthouse Forte many moons ago. It's conveniently situated right next to the Intu shopping centre and the Hub bars and restaurants. The hotel is set around a central atrium, with the bar in the middle. Rooms are well equipped and the beds comfy. I found the firm and good quality pillows particularly welcoming. The hotel has a good size pool which is open to guests, as well as a small gym. Our rate didn't include breakfast and we never eat there at night. Why woul... Read more

My friend and I booked a one night break at Holiday Inn Milton Keynes Central as a treat. Location chosen as halfway between where we both live. We had wanted a hotel with a leisure club but got so much more. We arrived around 11am and were able to check in immediately. Room was clean and tidy, room door is opened by a card key, note the door is heavy to open and care must be exercised in doing this. The reason for this is because it is a "fire door". Restaurant is bright and airy, the breakfast selection is comprehensive with a wide range of freshly prepared fruits and breakfast cereals, not to mention the cooked breakfast of which I did not partake. Main meals were a bit limited but adequate enough. All staff were friendly and helpful.

My first review sums this hotel up, but my second stay only added to my positive experience with the staff. From the front desk to the duty manager; who dealt with a problem without fuss and with made sure I was satisfied, all did a great job. One minor exception being the early morning Starbucks guy who clearly does not like his job. That said, I can only rate the hotel average as the rooms whilst clean are looking dated.

The is the point when I think there should be negative evaluation possible... I have been in that hotel and it was ok, i am member of their IHG, still I got a room in 3 floor. Looking for the fridge? Forget! Answer at reception: there is no fridge in 3 floor.. Two single beds, I asked for queen size... Not possible... How small the room is, the very old bath room.. Best is in the rate is the breakfast of course not included I think of moving to juries inn!

I emailed the hotel prior to my arrival, and requested a high floor room in a quiet area of the hotel. Upon checking in, I was served by a gentleman named Simon. I'm assuming he's quite new, as he first of all told me that I had two rooms booked (when I only had one), and didn't offer me a welcome amenity (for being a Spire Elite member). Serviceable hotel with restaurant, pool, and workout facilities. Staff are friendly, rooms are decent. One of the better options in the immediate area compared to the competition. If you're looking for a late night drink and think the bar is closed the person working the front desk will get it for you. I was going to a theatre show and stayed here for the night knowing it was central and right where the shopping centre is and close to the theatre district. The rooms were clean and well serviced. Requests were acted on as quick as they could. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only downside was that if you are at the front and open a window there is a lot of noise from the smokers. The location , setting etc are still great, however the Hotel needs promptly some decorating and updating.Work seemed to lag and there clearly wasnt enough staff to hold it all together. Also communication between shifts was poor. We had booked in advance breakfast but the info did not reach the staff on both mornings. Worse was the staffs attitude( first morning) in sorting things out. Our room was cleaned only late in the afternoon, however when finally done the room was clean. The 24 hours... Read more

This place is quite run down. See my pics. Stained furniture. Poor quality furnishings. Cheap iron that doesn't even take wrinkles out of your work shirt. And disgustingly dirty bath / shower area. I will not be using any of these. If these are the conditions of the rooms I dread to think what kitchen areas etc are like. I don't know why but all the hotels in Milton Keynes are dumps. Def a gap in the market for a decent hotel to step in.

Excellent location just across the road from the main shopping centre. Rooms ok but very dated and faded. I booked an "executive" room and have to say I would have been unhappy if I had been here on business as the WI-FI was so slow as to be unusable and there were no plug sockets accessible from the desk without starting unplugging the television etc. Some of the furniture was old with peeling surfaces and there were cracked tiles and an old shower curtain in the bathroom. As against that,... Read more

Booked here as visiting the MK Shopping Centre which is located just across the road and accessed via underpass at the bottom of the car park. The greeting at reception was friendly and expedient and we were soon in our room. The room was clean and functional with all the features you would expect from a chain hotel such as HI.The bathroom was decent although in need of a little refurbishment, but had the usual provision of shower gels/shampoo etc. The shower over the bath was nice and powerful ... Lovely hotel, lovely food and etc, service however is different, requested extra pillows in the night and was completely forgotten about and the car parking is ridiculous, there's 86 spaces to 100-200 rooms so we were forced to park outside their barriers to pay £2 an hour or 50p an hour if we didn't mind a little walk. Finally got a parking space the morning after when we was leaving and when leaving the hotel, the parking ticket wasn't working in the barriers and that was a pain because appar... Read more

On Friday the 18th of November (early evening) I had the pleasure of encountering a most welcoming, and openhearted experience at the Holiday Inn Central Milton Keynes. I visited reception to inquire about using the gym and its location. Subsequently, I was informed by a staff member (a person I later found out went by the name of Jodie), that its location was situated on the lower ground floor, and that the clientele regular route to the gym was solely via the hotel elevators, due to the fact ...
