Nice greeting at reception by Moez, our room was not quite ready as we had arrived early however we went to the main bar to have lunch as included in our wowcher voucher, which was very nice sat in the courtyard area in the sunshine, service here was good considering the amount of people to staff. The room would be described as cosy room 405 all amenities were available tea and coffee, hairdryer, iron and a fan if we were hot, ample wardrobe space for an overnight stay. The hotel is ideally si... Read more

A lot of hotels in Manchester and you can do better. Not the nicest part of town - kind of in the "University Quarter" but not a comfortable feeling being in the area after dark. It was clean, which is great, but not much else to commend it. Lumpy bed, very dated room, and when I came to shower in the morning the hot water tap didn't work. So, I had to use the bin to scoop hot water from the sink to the bath - nice! As I was leaving early they asked if I would like a breakfast to takeaway -... Read more

The first thing to say is that the room is extremely small, but this did not put us off in anyway, It is tastefully decorated with nice furniture, they have made good use of all the space. We stayed here for 2 nights, as it is away from the main City Centre, it means you are not disturbed by passing traffice of people coming back late at night. It is only a short walk from Canal Street and the main town centre, it is also a few minutes walk for a car park where we left our car here for 3... Read more

Stayed one night for a fab trip to see Coldplay at the ethiad. The hotel is in a very convenient quiet location. It's 5 mins walk to the tram. 3 stops to the stadium. 10 mins walk to the restaurants at Piccadilly gardens. ???the chap I booked it with over the phone was very helpful and polite. The room was a very clean executive with a king size bed and 2 roll away beds. We had a new looking shower and a very clean bathroom. The shower was powerful and hot. ??? It was a warm night and there wa... Read more

Stayed here for one night and don't have anything bad to say about this place. Rooms are big enough, bed comfortable and bathroom clean. Staff is really helpful and friendly. Hotel bar has a lovely outside area. Breakfast was yummy too. Hotel is close to everything. Would stay here again.

My partner & I stayed here last weekend. We travelled to Manchester to see Coldplay's gig. Our early morning flight meant we were in the hotel for 9am. Usual check in is 14:00, we were simply enquiring about a bag drop facility. Front of house manager, Jay, overheard us asking about this and he very quickly told us that there would be absolutely no problem checking in early, for a small fee of course. We grabbed a coffee while they prepared a room, & 15 minutes later we were in our room. He wa... Read more

Stayed here because we wanted to be quite close the centre of Manchester on Valentines weekend... It was a good experience, despite the room being very small, we didn't mind as it was only for 2 nights. It was a lovely comfy bed and just generally nice decor throughout, the staff were friendly also. HOWEVER, and it is quite a big however... The students were so loud that it stopped us from sleeping / woke us up at all hours! It was too hot to sleep without the window open, although we could hear... Read more

I stayed in a 'double room' that was really just a single room fitted with a double bed and with clever use of space. It really should not be sold as a double! This room was also next adjacent to the noisy lift so I was rudely awoken whenever the lift was operational. Avoid these rooms at all cost. That withstanding, the room was clean and the staff were friendly.

We booked the Pendulum Hotel in Manchester after our son bought us tickets to watch Sarah Millichan at the Apolo Theatre which is close bye. The hotel reception and staff on arrival were ok and friendly but once we accessed our room it wasn't very big and we had to keep the curtains closed due to the window overlooking the college entrance low down. People could see into the room when passing. Not the best fo locations for Manchester City Centre but well maintained and the staff were nice people... Read more

A perfectly good hotel for our overnight stay after a gig at the Etihad. Close to Picadilly train/tram station, only about a 5 minute walk. Room and bathroom were on the compact size, okay for one person but a bit of a squeeze for two. However, the rooms were clean with a very comfortable small bed and came equipped with iron, ironing board, large hairdryer, fan, good sized kettle with tea, coffee and biscuits. Good powerful shower, no bath, with decent white towels and Gilchrist and Soames to... Read more

Stayed here as everywhere was booked up. They did upgrade me to a bigger room as I was on crutches so struggle to get around. The main thing is it clean and tidy just abit worn around the edges. The other really annoying thing is it that you knew when everyone else got in as the door slammed shut waking everyone up, really annoying. However breakfast OK just wanted more tea but as they came round with it you only seem to get 2 cups. If you get a deal is not bad just don't spend a lot on it but t... Read more

I met Fabio on the coffee bar at the hotel entrance. What a great asset to this hotel. A friendly face, a warm welcome and a genuine kind word. I found Fabio able to brighten the mood of any individual. Sitting watching him interact with the hotel comers and goers he made all of them smile! Wish there were more fabulous Fabios in the working world.

Bad, shabby decore. Really thin duvet, tiny window, old, basic bathroom. Wires all over the place. Just so over-priced. I said in a place £20 cheaper and was 100 times nicer. Wouldn't recommend it for the price. it looks like a travel lodge.

I have stayed a few times now at the Pendulum attending conferences at the adjoining centre. Always welcomed back by their friendly, professional and very helpful staff. The bar staff are all attentive but Gemma, Rosie, Marzia, Conchi and both Toms' are a pleasure and deserve a special mention. Location fabulous, right in the centre of all the city's action. Look forward to my next visit in August!

I spend here great time, everything was brilliant. Hotel is close to Picadilly train/tram station, only about a 5 minute walk. That's very helpful when you travel by train ora tram. I recommend to drink the best cup of cappuccino served by Fabio Pina. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Reception staff were professional, very helpful and friendly. Thank you

We hold many conferences at this venue and always have fabulous customer service, especially Fabio (hospitality) and Jay (Reception) and their colleagues. They always make us feel very welcome and look after us during our events. Nothing is too much trouble. A credit to the organisation. Keep up the good work. Tracy, Ursula, Chris, Callum Mediconf Team

I've stayed here a couple of times and it's very dependable. The staff are very welcoming, warm and friendly. My room was rather cramped and I think the dining room is a bit charmless - but it's adequate for breakfast. For a business stay it suits me fine.

I stayed here for the conference centre, which is in the same building and so extremely convenient. The bedroom was small but neat and the bathroom looked as if it had a recent refit. Toiletries are provided and plenty of towels. The breakfast was good - buffet style with a good choice of hot and cold food and I was pleased to be given soy milk on request. The Pendulum itself swings from the ceiling and is fascinating to look at. Friendly staff, walking distance from the railway station (10 min... Read more

The room we had was small but we were only booked in for one night. Could not complain about anything. The room was spotless, comfortable with a nice clean modern bathroom. We found all the staff friendly and helpful but the gent in the garden bar, think his name was Pablo went above and beyond helpful. He really made our time spent in the bar so good we actually went back when we came in on the night. The location was great, a short walk to resteraunts, bars and shops. Would definitely go back a... Booking accommodation in an unfamiliar city is pot luck and this time we hit the jackpot with the Pendulum Hotel located in the city centre. Our son was graduating from the University and we needed to stay over for two nights. As it was a warm day we decided to walk from Piccadilly Station, which last no more than ten minutes. This hotel is clean, the beds are very comfortable and the international staff very helpful. There is a wide choice for the breakfast buffet and it is great value for mo... Read more

Goods things...location is excellent, front of house staff are friendly. Rooms were absolutely boiling, windows opened about 2 inches, no air conditioning, small fan provided was no use and very noisy. Noise was an issue, in and out of the hotel. There was a wedding on at the Hotel plus several hen parties who seemed to have to make the most noise possible. Doors slamming all through the night, shouting in the corridors and out the front of the hotel, singing and shouting. Mentioned to to desk... Read more
