As a platinum member you get to know what should be on offer when staying at a NOVOTEL and the Manchester Centre and even though they needed a little reminding eventually achieved the standard expected. Quiet, comfortable rooms, efficient service and good location.

It is a standard Novotel, well located close to Chinatown and its restaurants. There is an Indian restaurant opposite and a buffet place across the road, though I did not eat in any of them. The bar and restaurant looks good. The standard double room I stayed in was comfortable and adequate. Breakfast was of a good standard. Picadilly Gardens tram station is about 5 minutes walk away.

Stayed for one night to attend work conference. After being delayed 8 hours at Glasgow airport to make a short 40minute flight to Manchester I was knackered to say the least when I arrived at the hotel. I was greeted by Tim ( I think that was his name) at reception a lovely happy friendly guy which was very welcoming and he also gave me a free upgrade to an executive room which was very appreciated. Top marks to him he was very welcoming and a great first face for your hotel. I had room 223 ... Read more

I stayed on a Saturday night with my daughter who was taking part in the Great Manchester Run. It was a great location for us as we walked from Piccadilly station and the race start was just outside. There are lots of eating places nearby and the central shopping area was within walking distance. We booked a twin room but it turns out they don't actually do twin rooms, they just make up the sofa and call it a twin room. When we queried this, we asked for a bigger bed instead, and were given an e... Read more

I stayed here for a meeting. The meeting facilities were excellent, with a splendid choice of hot and cold meals in the buffet. My room was as expected for this chain, unexceptional but comfortable in all respects. My evening dining experience was disappointing. I made a choice from the menu displayed in my room, but when I went to the restaurant the menu was different and my selection was not there (as well as others). Various explanations were offered, none of them believable. Something odd th... Read more

Great city centre hotel - very friendly and professional reception staff. Helped us find best way of getting to concern. Room was perfect, very clean and comfortable. Nice bar area which was welcome after we arrived back. I think £16 per head is a bit expensive for breakfast but it is a city hotel and we made the decision to make our way home and find somewhere on route.

What a find!! For location this hotel does not get any better. Chinatown on its doorstep along with Great Portland Street and shops galore. My wife & I stayed here for a short break from 29th - 31st May. Arrived midday but couldn't check until 2p.m. When we did check in, we were allocated a first floor room - room 102- this was the furthest room from the lifts. However, even though the room had air con, because of the warm weather we decided to let some fresh air in & opened the window. but this was short lived as, directly below our room window was the back of a Chinese restaurant & the smell & the rubbish lying on the ground was... Stayed here with work - staff are very friendly and helpful, and hotel itself pretty centrally located. Easy walk to the city centre and shops. Room very basic and do HATE the teeny tiny little toilet cubicle that's separate to the bathroom itself - really think these should be sorted!! But bed very comfy and room spacious. Fine for a flying visit.

The location of this hotel is fantastic. The breakfast is very expensive and didn't look the best but Witherspoons is 2 minutes round the corner. We upgraded to an exec room which was ok but still very basic. In the morning the hotel toilets downstairs were such a mess toilet roll slung everywhere. Must of been people coming in drunk. I would stay again if price was good purely for location.

We stayed one night in this hotel and it had everything we needed for a one night business trip. The bed was comfy, the curtains blocked out the light in the morning, the wifi was good enough to stream movies (and free) and the rain shower was good. Additionally, everything was nicely clean and the breakfast was of good quality.

Location is simply perfect, one minute away from Oxford Road station, staff is friendly, wifi is great, rooms are brand new (at least the executive ones) with probably the biggest TV I have ever seen. Nothing bad to say really, I strongly advise it! Thanks for the great stay!

We stayed here because my cousin had a good deal through "Hotwire". We booked directly with the hotel and booked a Superior Room. There was nothing "Superior" about the room. At best, it could be described as "tired", but in reality it was dull and in real need of "sprucing up". On the website, the superior rooms are advertised with a bathrobe on the bed, but in reality, they are not supplied (false advertising). I had to request housekeeping to replace the the duvet cover as it was very badly c... Read more

Stayed here for 1 night, and very happy with staff professionalism, helpfulness, and friendliness. Room was modern, comfortable and clean. Though some may be surprised by fact that there is a window rather than wall between bedroom and shower.. Bar and lounge were comfortable. Central location makes it very easy to walk to anywhere in city centre. Would use it again. My only gripes were the fact that it is so popular at weekends, that we had to queue 15 minutes for breakfast before getting a ta... Read more

We use this hotel every week for our meetings. The events team is brilliant. Nothing is too much trouble, and everything runs seamlessly. I am particularly impressed by Steven, who goes above and beyond the call of duty, ensuring everything is in place and everyone is looked after. I was sad to hear that he will soon be leaving, and I wish him all the very best in the future.

Being an experienced Platinum Accorhotel Club member, it was to my total surprise. - For such an upgraded room, toothbrush was charged. - They helped printing a file after sending email for FOUR times plus asking to find the email. I was told that I sent to a wrong address and they did not receive it. After this was reported to the manager, I was told that I did not tell the room number. As a matter of fact, all my booking information was in all the emails. As this needs follow up, they just ign... Read more

For us as a family with two young children, this hotel was perfect. Just a short walk from the train station and lots of nearby restaurants made it an ideal location for us. The hotel itself is really smart and modern in the bar and restaurant areas and although the bedroom could be deemed a little dated it is clean and big enough for a family of 4. The staff have been wonderful ensuring we are having a nice time by bringing the kids a box of goodies to choose from and always polite, friendly a... Read more

Lovely hotel. Very modern and clean. Plenty of choice for breakfast. Comfy beds, but then again will sleep anywhere after a night out. The location is ok.....had better location. Next door the China town and felt quite unsafe walking back at night. Just on the wrong side of town. I asked to pay cash and they had already debited my credit card before I'd check out. Wasn't happy and they weren't willing to credit it and accept cash

The Novotel does what you expect. It's functional - with good rooms. The bar is OK (we didn't erat there or have breakfast at the hotel). It's an easy walk to most things (Deansgate, shopping, Piccadily etc). Kind of unremarkable - but fine

I like the Novotel offering - quite nice rooms and a modern environment. This one is pretty central to Manchester, handy for Palace theatre and library but really nothing in the centre is all that far away. Parking is a 30% discount at the eye wateringly expensive q-park next door. Room was good size but not the most contemporary styled Novotel I've been in. Stayed for 1 night in October 2016. The room was clean but the view was awful! There was no air conditioning in operation and the room was very warm leading to a poor night's sleep. Breakfast was OK with good coffee but the buffet had a number of empty trays which should have been replenished more often.
