As a platinum member you get to know what should be on offer when staying at a NOVOTEL and the Manchester Centre and even though they needed a little reminding eventually achieved the standard expected. Quiet, comfortable rooms, efficient service and good location.

It is a standard Novotel, well located close to Chinatown and its restaurants. There is an Indian restaurant opposite and a buffet place across the road, though I did not eat in any of them. The bar and restaurant looks good. The standard double room I stayed in was comfortable and adequate. Breakfast was of a good standard. Picadilly Gardens tram station is about 5 minutes walk away.

Stayed for one night to attend work conference. After being delayed 8 hours at Glasgow airport to make a short 40minute flight to Manchester I was knackered to say the least when I arrived at the hotel. I was greeted by Tim ( I think that was his name) at reception a lovely happy friendly guy which was very welcoming and he also gave me a free upgrade to an executive room which was very appreciated. Top marks to him he was very welcoming and a great first face for your hotel. I had room 223 ... Read more

I stayed on a Saturday night with my daughter who was taking part in the Great Manchester Run. It was a great location for us as we walked from Piccadilly station and the race start was just outside. There are lots of eating places nearby and the central shopping area was within walking distance. We booked a twin room but it turns out they don't actually do twin rooms, they just make up the sofa and call it a twin room. When we queried this, we asked for a bigger bed instead, and were given an e... Read more

I stayed here for a meeting. The meeting facilities were excellent, with a splendid choice of hot and cold meals in the buffet. My room was as expected for this chain, unexceptional but comfortable in all respects. My evening dining experience was disappointing. I made a choice from the menu displayed in my room, but when I went to the restaurant the menu was different and my selection was not there (as well as others). Various explanations were offered, none of them believable. Something odd th... Read more

Great city centre hotel - very friendly and professional reception staff. Helped us find best way of getting to concern. Room was perfect, very clean and comfortable. Nice bar area which was welcome after we arrived back. I think £16 per head is a bit expensive for breakfast but it is a city hotel and we made the decision to make our way home and find somewhere on route.

What a find!! For location this hotel does not get any better. Chinatown on its doorstep along with Great Portland Street and shops galore. Room was basic but clean with a comfy bed and all the amenities you would need. Bar was a little pricey but with everything on your doorstep there is no need to stay in!

My wife & I stayed here for a short break from 29th - 31st May. Arrived midday but couldn't check until 2p.m. When we did check in, we were allocated a first floor room - room 102- this was the furthest room from the lifts. However, even though the room had air con, because of the warm weather we decided to let some fresh air in & opened the window. but this was short lived as, directly below our room window was the back of a Chinese restaurant & the smell & the rubbish lying on the ground was... Only an overnight stay to attend a concert at the Etihad stadium. The hotel is 5 minute walk from Oxford Road train station and 5 minutes from picadilly gardens where the tram leaves for the stadium. The hotel is welcoming and clean with a nice bar/brasserie attached which we ate in. That's very nice. We booked bed and breakfast. the room was perfect for an overnighter with everything you'd expect, big towels, tea & coffee and a good shower. No view but if you're expecting that in a city centr... Stayed here with work - staff are very friendly and helpful, and hotel itself pretty centrally located. Easy walk to the city centre and shops. Room very basic and do HATE the teeny tiny little toilet cubicle that's separate to the bathroom itself - really think these should be sorted!! But bed very comfy and room spacious. Fine for a flying visit.

Just had a lovely stay at the Novotel. Wasn't expecting much of Novotel but the hotel was really clean and modern and the staff could not have been nicer. Was located only 5 minutes walk from the Picadilly Gardens tram which had us at the Eithiad in minutes. The hotel was situated between Canal Street and Chinatown, with the Arndale shopping centre only 10 minutes walk away. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The location of this hotel is fantastic. The breakfast is very expensive and didn't look the best but Witherspoons is 2 minutes round the corner. We upgraded to an exec room which was ok but still very basic. In the morning the hotel toilets downstairs were such a mess toilet roll slung everywhere. Must of been people coming in drunk. I would stay again if price was good purely for location.

There was a bit of a mixup with the room but the hotel staff dealt with it in the way best suited us which was satisfying enough. Room was spacious enough for three people and I heard no complaints of the spare bed. Breakfast was fine enough and everything was neat and tidy. I'd be happy to stay again.

I stayed here for 3 nights last year in October for the Conservative Party Conference. My choice fell on this hotel due to its' central location and the proximity to the Manchester Central Convention Complex. It is just a ten minute walk away from the conference centre. Stayed for a couple of nights on business in July 2016. Been a while since I've stayed at a Novotel and was pleasantly surprised. Room was very stylish - nice furniture and decor with definite Gallic hints. HUUGE television - actually never seen one so large outside an electrical store. Stayed at this hotel in mid July for a concert at the nearby Castlefield Bowl. Novotel is part of the Accor Hotels Group more well known for the ibis brand. My partner and I had booked a room several weeks in advance and on day of arrival went to reception at 1345. The receptionist, Ionna, could not find our booking on the system and I showed her the confirmation e-mail I had saved on my phone. She also asked for my debit card to confirm the transaction. I have just spent one night at this hotel when at a conference. I must say that the staff are the most pleasant I have ever com across. Stayed here for one night, the room is ok - perfectly functional but not very exciting! The bathroom and toilet are separate. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. This Novotel is located in the heart of Manchester's sprawling centre, next to China Town and between the Piccadilly and Oxford Road areas. The entrance is set back in a court yard off Portland Street, and if you know your Accor, just after the Ibis Hotel. The location of this hotel is amazing. It is a stone throw away from Chinatown and parking is phenomenally handy. There is a car park literally right next/below the hotel and at a fairly reasonable rate too. When we arrived we were exhausted having driven 4 hrs with 2 kids. I have no complaints about anything. The staff is friendly, the rooms are nice, the place is clean. The food is good but it's a tad overpriced - nothing to be surprised at a hotel in the heart of a city, however. We weren't intending to stay in Manchester but our circumstances changed and we opted for the Novotel. Getting here proved to be a bit of an issue as I had never driven around Manchester before. Lots of road works and street closures so using sat nav was a bit difficult. A member of staff told me that this was due to works for tram lines.
