Just stayed for one night. Had a lovely stay. Check in was a little slow but the lady was polite and kept apologising for the delay. The room was clean and basic - okay for a city centre. My only issue was we were facing the Piccadilly gardens and could hear the trams beeping until quite late (about 12ish) but there not a lot the hotel can do about that. Paul the concierge is a star and a really lovely helpful gentleman I highly recommend if there's anything you need to go see him. The parking ... Read more

We stayed at the Mercure Picadilly and on arrival we were greeted by the receptionist who was very friendly. We were given a room on the 7th floor and although the decor was nice inside, the bathroom needed updating. The shower was over the bath and the bath itself was very small and looked grubby. The shower head was too short and so at 5 foot 8, I had to bend to get my head under the shower. The shower curtain constantly got stuck to you as the bath was so narrow. The windows in the bedroom ha... Read more

The hotel is located right in the city centre - perfect for a trip to Manchester. Upon arrival at the hotel, I was greeted by a friendly receptionist. Due to having platinum Accor status, I received a double upgrade from a standard room to a suite on the top floor. I also received a drink voucher for both myself and my girlfriend. The rooms were spacious, as one would expect for a suite. It had great views over the city from both the bedroom and the large living room. Both rooms had a large T... Read more

As a hotel the Mecure seems to be badly in need of an update - everything feels a bit tired and dated, and whilst there was not one thing in isolation which made me feel badly about my stay the experience overall is not one I will be repeating. On the positive side the staff were all helpful, enthusiastic and cheerful, and the lady on reception was a bundle of smiles which was a good start. Once in my room however things went downhill with the major issues being: * the shower is optimal for so... Read more

I stayed here on a business trip with a customer in December. I was very, very disappointed. This is meant to be 4* but no way is it. I am no hotel snob and if I get an adequate hotel at a really good price would give it a 5 star rating however the Mercure Piccadilly disappointed from the moment we entered. The exterior of the hotel is very grubby. The girls at reception were good but the room itself was tired, shabby, dirty (lots of dust) and same for the bathroom. It was also tiny and de... Read more

I had a fairly uneventful trip from London to Manchester. I had no concerns about returning to the Mercure Hotel, in Manchester, as I have stayed there a number of times over the last few months. However, my most recent experience was a literal nightmare. Walked in, the concierge appeared to be fully engrossed with another conversation on the phone rather than attending to my arrival or offering directions. I arrived at reception, the lady that attended to me spoke so quickly that I barely und... Read more

OK so it's handy for the station and central town but given the room rates this place is mediocre at best. Rooms OK but nothing to shout about. The gym is unremarkable. Food reasonable priced and edible enough. Breakfast - poor, you would do better to get breakfast elsewhere. Huge 14 floor hotel and only 3 lifts - so you wait ages at busy times. I took to the stairs in the end - the only ones I could find being the service stairs from floor 10. There was no signage and I ended up prowling around... Read more

There was confusion over my booking having been prepaid when I checked in. It was resolved but felt like it was harder work than it should've been. The rooms are decent and the beds seem to be consistently comfortable at all Mercures. My bathroom didn't have any shower gel but kept getting stocked up with new tubes of shampoo every day?! A few saving graces were: This is one of the few hotels that get morning alarm calls right.on time, every day and one alarm call per day- no incessant remind... Read more

Could not pick a fault with the hotel. Stayed in a corner room on the 8th floor overlooking Piccadilly gardens, and there was no issues with excessive noise. Room was a decent size and very clean, and seemed modern enough. Had all basic amenities and all you would expect, including a large flat screen tv. Opted for the breakfast which all seemed very fresh, and all staff were very attentive. Thought it was good value for money too Staff are absolutely amazing and will go to the ends of the ...
