Very nice stay in Manchester. Hotel spotlessly clean, great shower, good towels & pleased with the comfort level of bed & pillows. Hope these standards are kept up as time goes by & the hotel 'ages'. Plenty of breakfast choice as long as you don't want cooked, only scrambled egg & sausages available, why no bacon I wonder? Definitely recommended for a city centre stay.

I stayed here recently when in Manchester for a conference and was surprised how good the hotel was. I have stayed in several HIE's and this was by far the best. The rooms were immaculate, the service efficient and the food quality was great. The only downside was parking. The hotel doesn't have a car park and the public ones nearby are very busy if there's a conference on.

Clean hotel, fantastic shower and very helpful staff. The staff provided instructions and a map to the nearest carpark, which was very reasonably priced £4.50 for 24 hours. And they took our luggage prior to check in. Very central location, handy for the arena, however the surrounding area isn't the best and the view from the window isn't great. I didn't sleep well, but I don't suppose the hotel can be held responsible for my dad's snoring....

Excellent location, just out of Manchester train station, very clean and comfortable room. Stayed for one night during a business trip, and it served everything I needed. Nice breakfast at a decent price (though I had a corporate rate, so I'm not sure about the cost without it).

Stayed for a night on business. New hotel with updated blue branding and furnishings / carpet. Comfy room. Given a quiet corner room as an IHG member but not noisy in any way. Excellent location in the northern quarter which is a little quirky and indie - far better than Piccadily. Gutted I missed breakfast due to lying in the comfy bed for an extra half and hour. But I will review next time as I will make this a first choice for business travel to Manchester. The slightly longer walk from stat... Read more

We stayed here on Sat night for the Coldplay concert at the Etihad stadium. It is a good 40 minute stroll (1.7 miles) but pleasant enough & straightforward - probably quicker than getting in a cab to be stuck in traffic. The hotel is fine, nothing special, but does the job. Bed was ok but a small double & not the most comfortable. The couple arguing next door at 01.00 wasn't great although it was much louder outside in the corridor than in the room to be fair and not the fault of the hotel. Show... Read more

Stayed for one night on a Saturday. Very friendly and efficient check in despite a rather large queue. Room was spacious, clean and well facilitated with a large walk in shower. Bar was lacking in atmosphere but did what it said on the tin. Open until 2am for residents. Perfect if you're coming back late from a concert as we were! Stayed here as we were down for the Coldplay concert on Saturday. Feel the price we paid was a bit high but being in the city centre and a concert being on I suppose it was expected. Staff were very friendly and helpful providing us a map of the city on arrival and anything else we needed. I was glad we were given the top floor as requested so we could get good views over the city and the room was of a good size and clean. Only drawback of the room was the mattress could be doing with changing a... Read more

Well positioned near the northern quarter, easily accessible. Rooms of good standard, comfy bed, lovely spacious bathroom for a budget hotel. Didn't get to breakfast, helped to sleep in by the great blackout curtains. Minimal noise from inside the hotel and little if not no noise from outside the hotel. Staff very friendly and efficient.

Rooms are great - well presented and apart from bathrooms appearing dark at first, soon light up and are well laid out (guess that's low energy lights!) But as long as it's only a room you want, all will be fine! That's the 3* rating.... Food - not great - firstly there is a well lit and spacious restaurant - but the hotel doesn't do dinner, but that's ok as Manchester has loads... It's an O.K hotel , Staff were polite and accommodating although one did throw a tantrum in front of several guests which I can only assume was due to some sort of colleague dispute. The hotel is okay, if you want to stay the night only. The reception staff were helpful and friendly, the bathroom was new and clean, with a quality power shower installed, good quality towels, etc. The room itself was stuffy and could do with good airing (not just spraying air freshener to mask the smell). This was my second visit and out of all the hotels at Manchester airport this is my favourite. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are lovely and comfortable. free breakfast is buffet style with good choice and cooked food. Transfers to airport/ train or coach stations are by mini bus at £3 per person. A GREAT VALUE PACKAGE

Good location in the center and near the northern quarter. Hotel nice decor which is stsndsrd for a chain hotel. Reception staff on check in were friendly and helpful.we were offered a free map but we knew the area so we declined. Room ok size for us with a tiny smount of tea and coffee facilities in the room.Double bed seemed small but comfortable. Bathroom lights were poor and dim but the full lengh mirror in the bedroom is a good touch. Breakfast very poor even though its free i would scrap ... Read more

We had a room on the 8th floor with the most amazing views over Manchester! The room had a floor to ceiling window and we could see the Arndale centre which is a 5 minute walk away along with numerous shops, restaurants and bars. The location was spot on for what we wanted which was shopping, food & drink. It also had two glass lifts which was great when your travelling to the 8th floor! The room was well equipped, spacious, modern & clean & the shower was large and very modern but did not have ... Read more

I booked this stay as a bit of an emergency, wasn't expecting to stay over. The booking was great, hassle free. When I set off to get there, the sat nav gave a different address to the booking, . Rang the hotel and they gave ne clear directions. Two further phone calls later I got there, Manchester roads and sat nav don't seem to match...or maybe it was pilot error. Anyway, they suggested I left luggage with them whilst I parked car,. When they found out I wanted to be away early, 05:30 th... Read more

Stopped here for a break for nephews stag night although they were elsewhere. The hotel was spotlessly clean , comfortable and great value. The breakfast on offer for the morning after was a godsend. Would recommend for a City break or something at the arena. Good central location trams nearby.

Was an OK hotel and an OK room - not worth the circa £180 per night rate we paid but last minute booking on a busy Saturday night means prices up I suppose. Check in was busy and an error was made (we were given the key to the wrong room) they rectified it quickly but was a little inconvenient. The room was small, had tea and coffee facilities etc. Small clothes rail, TV remote didn't work (no batteries) and the pressure in the shower was non existent. Location was great (we were going to the M... Read more

Lovely hotel and nice staff, one small concern was the room being extremely cold, I battled with this for 3 days having reception warm my room through a phone call. After ringing reception I was told that the controls are operated from downstairs. The units on the wall are deemed useless thus wasting everyone's time. It's clear that money is more important than guest welfare, why have wall mounted controls that don't work.

Central hotel near to china town. Nice plush reception and room was ok. New bathroom so well appointed. Comfortable bed so that was all good. I was on the top 9 th floor and expected it to be quiet but there must be a night club near by as I got the thump thump come through until 2.30am. There must be an external area as well as I could hear people having a cracking time until 4am. When the traffic starts. Not a good recipe for a good nights sleep which lets face it is why I was there. Brea... Read more
