Used this hotel the night before flight to Orlando as a hotel/parking deal. Found hotel OK and check in went well, given key card for our room on the first floor. Found room and entered, only to be confronted by a man laying on the bed watching TV; I don't know who was more surprised, him or my wife. After much apology and embarrassment on both sides, I returned to reception to advise them of the 'error'. They apologised and gave me complimentary drinks vouchers (which seemed to be readily avail... Read more

The rooms were quiet and clean. The a/c didn't work, but there was a fan in the room that provided sufficient air movement to keep us cool. The receptionist was friendly and gave us directions to the Romper Pub to eat (very good eating at the Romper). * Now, from the airport it cost us 9 GBP for the four of us to take a taxi. * The hotel shuttle is 3 GBP per person and would have cost us 12 GBP total to get from airport to the hotel. * The taxi (reserved through the hotel) was 6 GBP to get ba... A good night??s stay closer to the Airport with a regular running shuttle to the departure gates. The hotel location (being next to the airport) makes it a little remote to anything else in Manchester, and makes it awkward to find on arrival. The shuttle to the airport is NOT free (costs about £6). We both found the breakfast to be pretty good actually! Yes, its a bit basic, but great setup to a flight, it was definitely a welcome surprise. All in all I would say the hotel is good, but if y... Read more

How could it be possible for this hotel to have this franchising from HI? Starting by the staff who looks like to be working in a cemetery: sad, tired, confused. Anyway, they thanked me for being a frequent customer, said I will get the points in my account, free wi-fi. Got the key, went to my room and the first impression was not good: lying beside the heater, a fan. Where is the air conditioning? No, they don't have. Free wi-if is true yet just working in the lobby. So tired after a long day, ... Read more

Stayed here for one night when flying the next day. Room was of a good standard and convenient for airport. However as standard for English hotel rooms it had no air-conditioning. It did provide a fan, which initially I thought was a god send. However it soon became apparent that the fan was of very poor quality. Even on its highest setting it gave very little relief and lots of noise. So the room was like a sauna, as unfortunately were the corridors and communal areas. Breakfast was okay if you... Read more

Stayed one night before as catching and early flight. The room was a good size and was well presented. The room was extremely warm, due to warm weather. There was a fan in the room which helped cool the room down. The bed was comfy. Only down side was the shower there was plenty of heat but just a trickle of water. We were leaving early 5am so it could not be put down to peak usage. We got what was well described as a light breakfast. This hotel is not within walking distance of the airport you... Read more

No air conditioning, which normally I am fine with, but as it is so close to the airport, an open window means constant aeroplane noise. The food was horrific, clearly frozen and then microwaved. Absurd prices for just poor quality food and room. The shuttle to the airport is the best feature, only £3. But from the station to the hotel you have to pay for a taxi and travelling back the city centre is a hassle.

I expect airport hotels , especially in a city like Manchester to be good standards. And holiday Inn on my last visit was very disappointing. To be fair, the services on offer and the rooms were all very good standard for the money . It was the service that was shockingly dissatisfying. We arrived little earlier than expected and enquired about when the room would be avaliable. To begin with, we were bounced back and forth between the staff at desk and from the greeting onwards it wasn't a p... Read more

First comment. Pleased it was a cool night. No aircon and windows that only open a few inches. Which hotels don't have aircon in 2016 especially airport ones. Rooms good though. Well done out great bathrooms. Staff really good and helpful. Food. Didn't try it. Menu was poor all looked microwaved with chips. Very expensive I would walk over the road and eat at premier inn. Cheaper and better menu.

Overnight stop before flying to America from Manchester airport. Comfortable and clean room. This hotel offers free wi-fi. We were feeling a little peckish in the evening so we had dinner in the hotel, the menu had a lot of choices, I had curry and my partner had a fish finger sandwich, both meals were delicious and reasonably priced. What more can I say? It's a Holiday Inn Express. It does what it say on the tin, there are no frills but the room was ok, the kids shared a double bed (although someone needs to tell hotels that not all kids are happy to share). The breakfast was ok although the restaurant lacked any atmosphere and was a bit clinical. I was a bit peeved to find out you needed to pay for the hotel car park overnight (although it was only £5) as well as the room. Would rather they included it in the price. They d... Read more

It's a modern Holiday Inn express. Has a bar and a restaurant. No free shuttle bus to the airport, you have to pay. Also parking is £5 a night. Apparently you can get a long term parking deal via the hotel as well, although I didn't see this option while booking. Near the airport and just off the M56 motorway.

Luckily my wife is an expert & dispatched it quickly & humanely. This hotel is fantastic value for money, particularly when a comprehensive breakfast buffet is included. When we are on a late flight into Manchester we normally stay at the Premier Inn. The one time we stayed there before a flight the PI wasn't able to offer any way of waking us up. We had an early (0725) flight this time so chose to stay at a hotel that offered wake-up calls. We have chosen the PI in the past because they offer park and fly with the Valet Parking that is on the airport. The HI Express offered valet parking but with a different company. On this occasion we felt that getting a wake... Read more

We stayed here for the second year running as a pre early morning flight hotel. We found upon arrival that we could not pay to leave our car on the hotel car park like we did the previous year and had to sort alternative parking ourselves. This would be fair enough if this was made clear to us when booking our trip months earlier which it wasn't. The stay itself was fine the room was clean and breakfast was good. We stayed one night before departing England,we cannot say enough good things about our short stay, rooms were clean and comfy, also ideal for the handicapped. Restaurant was quite sufficient and they provide a Continental breakfast from 4 am,cooked from 6.30 am. Free Internet and the bus shuttle was on time for the airport. Staff were very friendly and helpful, there are scales to check the weight of your bags at Reception. Well done.

Very slow check in but was given a drink voucher to make up for it - nice touch Room basic but comfortable with tea/coffee making facilities , good size shower but ridiculously small sink basin - run the water too fast and it goes absolutely everywhere Bar service is excellent , restaurant has a simple menu but quality is good . Stayed here for 1 night in Sept '16 before our holiday in Vegas, The holiday is well situated for the airport and with pubs nearby. The hotel is spotlessly clean and comfortable. Food and drinks prices were high and didn't realise you had to book car parking at the hotel in advance. Other than that, the staff were friendly and helpful and would recommend and will stay there again. Nearly forgot to mention the FREE internet use in the lobby area.

we stayed as an overnight with an early morning flight. Found the hotel without any problems and the meals were reasonably priced with a good selection. Room was spacious and modern and clean with a good sized bathroom. We were able to have a light breakfast at 4am which was very handy and ten minutes drive to the airport ! would certainly use this hotel again.
