My wife and I had two days in Manchester with a night at the Hilton Deansgate. We checked in and upgraded to the executive lounge which we thought was great value.Right from the off the staff were great and a pleasure to deal with. The drinks and nibbles from 6-8pm were nice and plentiful. We had cocktails (not cheap)at cloud 23 at night and what great views well worth a visit. The breakfast was also good and lots of choice.Great staff and great hotel will visit again.

I've stayed here maybe 20 times, usually whilst attending large meetings on the 1st floor. Great location: very close to Castlefield and Spinningfields for bars and restaurants and not too far from the main shopping areas. Fabulous views from higher rooms and the 23rd floor Cloud Bar. I had an odd stay last night when I had room service trying to enter the room twice followed by a phone call from reception at 1am asking my name and room details. Aussie family here for a short holiday of 3 days. This hotel was chosen purely for its 20m lap pool as one of us needs to swim on a daily basis. The pool was wayyyy too hot though, especially since it is already indoors....something to work on maybe. From the outside the hotel is a little bit of an eyesore - very tall and grey - but with the silver lining that you can see it from almost anywhere in manchester and hence never get lost!!! We had vouchers for the Hilton and decided to use them for afternoon tea. When booking I mentioned it was my husbands birthday and asked for a table by the window. We were given a lovely drink with flowers and fresh fruit. The view was stunning. I was worried after reading the reviews but we found the food to be lovely. We asked for more sandwiches , which wasn't a problem. My only two negatives are: 1. It was really dirty where we were sitting. The carpet was covered in bits, as were the cu... Read more

Location was ideal right in the heart of Deansgate with excellent transport links via tram station which is found behind the hotel. Lots of bars and restaurants in close proximity along with a nice selection of shops. The communal areas were nice enough, however the room interior was rather dated with a number of marks and scratches on the furniture, not what I've come to expect when staying with Hilton. We are staying here because our flight was delayed 27 hours (never ever fly with Small Planet Airlines). Room good, view great but every single member of staff we have dealt with from reception to restaurant to room service has been incredible. Seriously impressed and because of that will actually come back and stay here at own expense when next in Manchester. People are genuinely friendly, super efficient and go out of their way to help. Well done everyone, you are fantastic!

Disappointing for a hotel of this standard. Although checked in online had a long wait to get a key. The wifi is useless strange for a business type hotel. This was agreed with by the reception staff on checkout. My room had a very odd smell (? Bad drains) which I was told they would investigate. On the positive side dinner and breakfast were excellent as was the executive lounge. Parking is expensive. Although a great point of "stamping my ticket on checkout" was made I was charged the stan... Read more

Booking We booked our hotel trough the Hilton.com website. Partly because we wanted to have a swimming-pool in our hotel and partly because the hotel we normally stayed in (the Park-inn by Radisson) was already fully booked. Because I am a long-time HHonors-member I decided to take the upgrade to a deluxe-room. At the booking I noted at preferences; far away from elevator/high-floor. About a week before arrival date I got the e-mail for pre-checking-in. I found it pretty awesome as you could alr... Read more

I sent an email to the Hilton after we recently stayed and they have still not replied. My boyfriend had planned to propose on the 30th of July and had requested a room with fantastic views, instead we ended up in a disabled room. They had also taken the payment for the room in 3 instalments which caused an antifraud act at the bank that then blocked the card leaving us without any funds for several days! I stayed at the Deansgate Hilton for four nights, taking advantage of a Hilton Honor deal that included breakfast. While the bed was very comfortable and the room benefitted from a floor to ceiling panoramic window that afforded me a great view of Manchester rooftops, there were no drawers and the lighting was dismal (one of my pet hotel hates). There were enough plug points around the desk opposite the bed, but there was not one at the bedside, which makes no sense in these days of mobile pho... Read more

We stayed in a King Executive room on the 22nd floor. The room was an okay size, nice king size bed and desk area. I've stayed in nicer hotels for less if I'm honest, it's a very average standard of room that could really use an update to reflect the price. Do not use this hotel. It is terrible 1. When I arrived (around 10pm) no-one was on reception. That‚??s just sloppy and poor management 2. No power points by the bed. 3. They charge for any internet access. 4. Safety hazards in the rooms (see below) 5. TV would not switch off (I guess no batteries in the remote) Despite being a modern place, the room design is crazy. They deliberately prevent guests from using power points close to the bed. When I tried to move the bed to access a power point, ... Read more

On a previous trip to Manchester, we saw this very tall building and found out about it, which prompted us to stay there on our next visit. We turned up in Manchester, having not booked anywhere and this place had rooms. There weren‚??t enough staff on at 6pm which was irritating after a 6 hour very intense drive, and wondering if we would get a room. We, eventually, had a nice person check us in and we had nice rooms on the 9th floor 902/911. One facing one way and one the other. 902 is on... Read more

Stayed over as a treat as visiting the theatre, we stayed in a king executive room which was a nice enough room but no wow factor apart from the view. Mini bar not included and was extortionate!! £12 for a tiny bottle of spirit. Managed to go up to the cloud 23 bar which was amazing, advise booking in advance so you don't have to queue. Again prices for drinks are very expensive but you are in a city. The lobby area in the hotel didn't seem to have any atmosphere this visit compared to our pre... Read more

We are over the moon with our recent visit to Manchester Hilton Deansgate. Staying on the 15th floor gave us a great view of Manchester's skyline. Service from the receptionist Joy made our stay extra special - thank you. Breakfast was great, lots of choice and good quality produce. Loved the 23rd bar and the night sky view. Can't wait to return and would highly recommend this hotel.

Good Hilton but not the best we have stayed in. Stayed here for anniversary in August and we enjoyed our time here but hotel was not the best Hilton we have stayed in. The room was average though we did enjoy the TV in the bath. The bed was comfortable though the air-con didn't work at its best and the mini-bar was confusing to open. We needed a code to open it and this wasn't explained at check-in. The wifi code was it given at check-in either, meaning we had to contact reception on several occ... Read more

We went for my 30th Birthday to stay the night and celebrate my 30th in an executive room. It was amazing the comfy bed and service was ace. The only downside I had to email several times to try and get a early check in .... to be told to email the day before and they would see what they could do ... I did and never got a response.

We enjoyed staying here on our trip from Scotland to Heathrow. It is very modern hotel with spacious rooms and floor to ceiling windows. We were able to take advantage of the diamond club lounge on 23rd floor with some good food and drink and enjoyed the night city views. Also, coffees from their machine are fantastic.

Present from our children which they paid for caused confusion

A fine hotel overall, which is what you'd expect given this is meant to be one of the best in Manchester. Unfortunately the heating was terrible. I woke up cold. I turned up the heating and couldn't even feel the heat coming out of the vent. I notified a member of staff who promised to send an engineer, but nobody came. Friends of mine staying at the same hotel also complained about the heating. The hotel rooms would not be warm enough for me during winter months.

We arrived at the hotel to be told that despite having our confirmation email, that both of our rooms, a suite and an exec room, had been allocated to the wrong night and the hotel had no availability! This booking had been made 10 months before and was for a special event as a present for our daughter's who were attending the Justin Bieber concert. Comfortable bed. Quiet. Poor lighting in rooms for shaving or applying makeup. Crap service in restaurant area for breakfast. Staff just not bothered about you. They're not polite or friendly, don't clear neighbouring plates away and you pretty much have to ask for everything. Five stars it is certainly not. Only stay there if you have to, or, like we did, for convenience (attending a charity dinner)

Got to centre of Manchester at 11pm, raining, dark, but could not spot the Hotel, Tom-Tom insisting I had "reached my destination". Quality room in a modern hotel in a good location for central Manchester. The view from the room at night was incredible. The reason why I give 4/5 and not 5/5 is because I couldn't get into the cloud bar. Even though I was a guest, I didn't pass the footwear test! Nice hotel, spacious reception bar and restaurant are makes it feel very welcoming. The view from the higher floors are fantastic, from the south side you can see across to Old Trafford, Etihad, Jodrell Bank etc. and the view at night means you want to sleep with the curtains open as the floor to ceiling windows give you a view from bed. It is worth paying a little more for a room with a view as these are the deluxe or exec rooms. Great hotel!
