June 2012 Went for a weekend break. The bedroom was gorgeous! Really modern, best nights sleep i had for ages. Would love to know what quilts they had. Food was lovely. Had plenty of seating in reception. It was central for shopping or going out to eat. Plenty of shops around it and close to attractions.

We stayed at the Crowne Plaza Manchester City Centre for the second time and were not disappointed. Clean, modern and tidy. Friendly and service minded staff. A very good selection for breakfast. Comfortable beds (although the double-duvet thing is not optimal ....) Both times we have stayed, we have had a room facing the busy street outside. This time we were on the 3rd floor and did hear traffic (particularly early in the morning), but it wasn't too bad. However, on our next stay we may ask... Read more

Decided to book in at the Crown Plaza , as had decided not to stay at Holiday Inn due to poor room, Waited in queue for 15 minutes, requested 2 executive rooms for the night, took all details etc and happy to make payment there and then, and then came the crunch " Can I see your passport " Sorry I dont carry it with me unless I am going abroad, oh dear we cannot accept your booking without your passport, but I am British and paying NOW, no sorry sir cannot allow. Every single member of staff I met were fantastic, from check in to check out superb, bar, restaurant and concierge. Professional, helpful, polite. Without being over the top The rooms are clean, well appointed and quiet. A little on the small side, but normal for a city centre hotel. Recommended hotel for central Manchester.

The first thing you notice when entering the hotel that the reception staff is incredibly helpful and supportive. Same is valid for the restaurant team - working really efficiently and always smiling! Makes all the difference! The rooms have a decent size and are very clean with great views of Manchester if one is lucky to get a top floor room. Best of all though is the comfortable bed which definitely provides one with a good nights' sleep! Only draw back are the relatively small showers - ... Read more

The man who talked to me was adorable black guy with good sense of humor ??? My room was specious, clean and cosy. After whole day perfect to relax not to mention that on your pillows you can find gift which helps you fall asleep easily ??? bed huge and comfortable. This is a horribly overpriced hotel calling itself a Crowne Plaza , not even worthy of being a Holiday Inn Express. Rooms are small and dark. Internet is slow and unreliable.Staff is apathetic. Room service is a joke as I ordered a cheese sandwich which had plenty of lettuce but no cheese. Rooms are over heated and mattresses of poorest quality making sleep difficult. As a frequent visitor to Manchester, as I have family here, this hotel is situated in an unpleasant part of town full of seedy... Read more

From the moment I walked in to check in I was welcomed with smiles from the reception staff. The lady who checked me and my partner is was very pleasant and helpful. Quickest check in I have ever had at a hotel as well. I requested a high floor room and they were able to accommodate. Was in a room on the 7th floor and I recommend others to stay higher up as you get some great views. The room was immaculate. Clean modern and the bed was so comfortable I wanted to take it home. Stayed here overnight for our wedding anniversary and decided to upgrade to a club room which turned out to be a great idea. Our room had clearly been recently upgraded or refurbished as it was stylish and very modern and we had a corner room on the 7th floor which gave us great views over the City. We went to the club lounge at 6pm and enjoyed a few beverages with fantastic service from the staff that were in there. The canapés were nice and complimented our drinks and then after a quick chang... Read more

Lovely hotel. Very modern, clean and tidy. Staff on reception were friendly, polite, courteous and professional. They all looked extremely smart too. The bar area is spacious and modern. Bar staff were also very polite, friendly and looked smart. We opted for a deluxe suite as there were three of us and the room was huge. With two extremely comfortable double beds. I always love staying in the Crowne Plaza because the beds are just so comfy, this time though I seemed to have a pillow problem, hard and lumpy, very unusual. I must take some responsibility as I should have phoned and I am sure I would have been given softer ones.....everything else was five star as usual, we will be back, get the soft pillows ready!!

I stayed here for 3 nights last year whilst in Manchester for Parklife festival and this remains as one of my favourite hotels! Decor of the bed/bathroom and hotel premises was lovely and modern. Bed was super comfy! Location is ideal, right in the city centre - literally a few minutes walk from the Arndale shopping centre some corner shops, a nightclub etc. The reception staff were very nice and helpful, they even waited by the door with clear plastic bags for our muddy wellies from the festiva... the staff's awareness of security issues is pretty poor - to be fair, this seems to be an issue in most british hotels. i was in one of the older rooms this time (no cupboard space, next to a main road) but it was just for a couple of nights. Hotel is near the city centre and there is a quickiemart across the road. Breakfasts in the hotel are good.

Rooms were immaculate! Beautiful beds and lovely complimentary sleep kit and toiletries! Service all fabulous and very friendly. We got a family room with 2 double beds, the room was too small for 4 people and would have been a lot nicer had the room been bigger, would have been better if we felt less claustrophobic!

I have stayed here a couple of times and I'm not impressed. It is supposed to be the premium brand in the IHG group. Yes, everything is very clean and tidy and the receptionists wear ties but the rooms are tiny, and the background noise (I'm not sure whether it is from the hotel aircon or outside) was loud enough that I needed to sleep with earplugs in. Breakfast is the same standard as a holiday inn express. Greasy fried eggs, scrambled eggs that look like they were made from powder, fruit ... Read more

Visited for a quick business breakfast meeting. In an establishment that is perceived as one of quality, my expectations were high. While the service was good, the food was only adequate. I appreciate breakfast may not be the most challenging service to provide for, and that is why my expectations are high. Stayed in the deluxe club room, I had requested a room with a view and was given the "best view in the house"! The room was fantastic. Access to the club lounge was very handy when wanting a quick drink. Breakfast was great and was delivered to our room on time. Location is also great, right next to the Arndale and the northern quarter for some good bars and tea rooms. Overall I would 100% recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for the JW Convention 2016 in July and had a wonderful experience. The hotel was immaculately clean and state of the art bedroom. The best treat was the breakfast which had just about everything you could think of, the bacon crispy, and the usually weak in previous hotel experiences -scrambled eggs, just like home made! Will book again.

I chose this hotel because it's located ten minutes or so away from Manchester Piccadilly train station. The hotel looks really nice and comfortable. In stayed one night and got a room on the executive floor, facing West. The room window make up the "wall" to the outside, providing a nice view, specially during the sunset.
