June 2012 Went for a weekend break. The bedroom was gorgeous! Really modern, best nights sleep i had for ages. Would love to know what quilts they had. Food was lovely. Had plenty of seating in reception. It was central for shopping or going out to eat. Plenty of shops around it and close to attractions.

We stayed at the Crowne Plaza Manchester City Centre for the second time and were not disappointed. Clean, modern and tidy. Friendly and service minded staff. A very good selection for breakfast. Comfortable beds (although the double-duvet thing is not optimal ....) Both times we have stayed, we have had a room facing the busy street outside. This time we were on the 3rd floor and did hear traffic (particularly early in the morning), but it wasn't too bad. However, on our next stay we may ask... Read more

The first thing you notice when entering the hotel that the reception staff is incredibly helpful and supportive. Same is valid for the restaurant team - working really efficiently and always smiling! Makes all the difference! The rooms have a decent size and are very clean with great views of Manchester if one is lucky to get a top floor room. Best of all though is the comfortable bed which definitely provides one with a good nights' sleep! Only draw back are the relatively small showers - ... Read more

This is a horribly overpriced hotel calling itself a Crowne Plaza , not even worthy of being a Holiday Inn Express. Rooms are small and dark. Internet is slow and unreliable.Staff is apathetic. Room service is a joke as I ordered a cheese sandwich which had plenty of lettuce but no cheese. Rooms are over heated and mattresses of poorest quality making sleep difficult. the staff's awareness of security issues is pretty poor - to be fair, this seems to be an issue in most british hotels. i was in one of the older rooms this time (no cupboard space, next to a main road) but it was just for a couple of nights. Yet again a good stay at this city center hotel. Parking £13 for 24 hours. We had a club room on the 8th floor which gives access to the lounge for alcoholic drinks between 6pm and 8pm which was great. Confortable room , with all the amenities expected of a good 4* hotel. Check in /out was excellent, staff were polite. The room had a queen size bed and was very clean. We were going to eat in the restaurant but thought it was a bit expensive, so went to the indian 50 meters away which was exce... Read more

Another thoroughly enjoyable stay at the Crowne Plaza. Stayed in a club room on the 8th floor which gave us access to the lounge. A nice chilled way to spend an hour before venturing out. Staff, as always, efficient and friendly. Room, as always, clean and stocked with supplies (if required) in the bedroom and bathroom, and as usual the spray to help with sleep!! I've said on a previous review I would be back and I have been. In fact if it was possible to review the same place more than once ... Read more

I've stayed at many hotels in the uk, and many crown plazas but this isn't one that gave me a great experience. Location is good, offsite parking is cheap at £13 for city centre. Staff are friendly and helpful. The service was quick once ordered to the room. What I didn't like - Poor in room breakfast, microwave heated waffles, croissants didn't taste fresh and tinned fruit!!! OMG you can do better IHG. - rooms were small and congested - shower is small and narrow. I wouldn't stay there ... Read more

I was brought here by my girlfriend as a surprise for my birthday. On arrival we were quickly welcomed to the hotel, and checked in at a fast pace. The lady who checked us in at the reception was very please to and chatty and really took an interest in why we were visiting. When we got to our room, it was decorated with balloons and a birthday banner which my girlfriend had arranged with the hotel. Our room was amazing, a very good size and we were greeted with a complimentary bottle of wine and... Read more

Rooms are very small, esp twin beds room. Wifi is extremely slow - only good enough to do whatsapp. Shower is also very small. Breakfast was just ok, no surprise. Front desk is helpful. The carpark suggested by the hotel cost £13. The carpark right opposite the hotel only cost £7 up till midnight. The trick is to park it at the roadside parking space which is free 8pm - 8am. The only good thing about the hotel is its proximity to shopping areas. For the price we paid, I'll pick another... Read more

I've recently stayed at this hotel and the location is great, very close to the centre of town, shopping areas, bars and restaurants. The service is very good and the staff are friendly. I had room service one night , drinks in the bar another evening and breakfasts in the restaurant each morning. All the food was very good and again the service was very good. I would definitely stay there again!

Well-located on the edge of the Northern Quarter and close to the major shopping area. Parking is easy to find and reasonably priced for city parking. We stayed in a club room but to be honest the club facilities weren't really worth the effort and the club lounge was not the sort of place to hang out in. The club floor was very quiet, at least. As with other Crowne Plaza hotels, the bed was very good indeed. The room itself was a little cramped but that's typical for a city hotel. Bathroom c... Read more

Stayed one night in a two bedded double room. There's a large box carpark opposite which charges £16 for 24 hours, however if you pay for this at checkout it's reduced to £13. Check in was easy and efficient. Free wifi, nice White Company toiletries in the room.I also liked the fact that the bathroom had its own good shower rather than one over the bath. Free water left in the room. We had a few drinks in the bar which was good but as expected more pricy than neighbouring bars. There's a dec... Read more

Where do I start! It took 25 minutes for me to check in. My room had a locked mini bar, when I requested it to be opened it was empty, when I complained they told me it could not be replenished until 7am when the cleaners clocked in. The wifi was virtually non existent. I requested room service only to be told that the advertised 24 hour facility closed at 10pm! Nice toiletries too. We found the staff very welcoming and keen to help. We are members of the loyalty club for IHG and were welcomed as such with vouchers for a free drink in the bar-a nice gesture. To top it off, when we were leaving Einne contacted a taxi for us . We had an awesome driver named Ian, who we had wished we had the whole time we were over in England. Our group of four adults and twelve youths stayed in four family rooms with two double beds in each. Unbeatable combination of quality and price for us.
