Full of refugees!!!!!!! Felt totally unsafe and the only way to get out was to have to pay for another room at a nearby hotel!!!!!!! In total paid £110 for a substandard disgusting unsafe vile establishment. The lady receptionist was very polite and helpful but I worried about her safety too. Shouldn't be allowed to be booked!!!!!!!! Two women travelling alone and in here is NOT safe

Britannia airport hotel Manchester. Arrived 15th April, booked 8th January. Was not informed of the amount of refugees staying previous to arrival, nor that we could not use the dining room until trying to enter, had to sit in bar. Was not told that the evening dinner was restricted to Lasagne, beef burger, chicken burger or Italian chicken due to the influx of refugees. Asked for wake up call, did not receive it. Not much point in reviewing this, it's clear from the other reviews that it's a terrible hotel. Its dated, dirty, damp and cold. Staff are under pressure and not very knowledgeable. Stayed for one night before an early flight including dinner and breakfast, parking and taxi to airport. Corridors were full of trays full of dirty pots from the day before, the restaurant service was slow and food was poor and overpriced. Breakfast was not ready before we left at 7.15 even though we were told it sta... Read more

My husband and I stayed at this hotel before and after our recent holiday. The initial stay on the outward journey was in a very dated room on the first floor. The corridors and staircase up to the room all smelt of damp and were badly in need of renovation. The furniture in the room was very basic. Unfortunately for us, we had the family from hell arguing all night in the room next door which did not add anything to the experience. The inward journey saw us being allocated a far nicer room on ... Read more

This hotel was shocking. I arrived by an extremely bored looking receptionist who clearly didn't want to be there who threw my room key infront of me. When I went to my room I was greeted by the smell of damp, a closer look then revealed mould on the taps in the bath. I then rang for some room service to be told that I couldn't pay with my card so would have to go downstairs and collect it, which isn't room service. I ordered a cajun chicken burger which was like eating a piece of old leather ... Read more

We made a booking to stay in this hotel two weeks prior to the date of our intended stay. We selected the hotel because of its proximity to Manchester Airport. When we arrived at the hotel at 2am (we'd warned them of our late arrival in advance) we were greeted by the receptionist who advised us that "unfortunately" our booking no longer existed. When I confronted the hotel staff about this, I was told that it wasn't the staff's fault, which might technically be accurate. However it immediat... Read more

Well. My wife booked a hotel and park package through wowcher for ourselves and a family of four for a recent holiday to Turkey. On arrival (to park the car) I noticed a diverse range of people hanging around and entering/exiting the hotel. I thought nothing of it and my wife checked the cars in. The transfer that was offered was £20 for a mini bus which was fine. We had a great week away and returned to the hotel at 2am. I stayed here due to ease of access. The welcome I received was minimal with no information on breakfast, check-out time or hotel facilities given. The room I was in was very hot and the decor was extremely dated - for the room cost my expectations were higher. The place is dated and needs refurbishment. The dining room is bare, lacks any atmosphere and the food average. The room was clean, but in the bathroom the mirror is over the toilet on a different wall from the wash basin. The plug in the bath would not left to let out the water. My "Superior" executive room was just about OK. Nothing else was. All the public areas were dirty and the food was awful. Do not eat there not even for breakfast. Staff were not unpleasant but there was certainly no going the extra mile. Walking from my room to the lift past all the congealed trays of unappealing (and largely uneaten) food from the night before was not a good start to the day. The food and service was awful! Waited 25 minutes for cutlery and 40 minutes for the starters. Tomato soup was tastless and my mushroom brushetta but it really was mushrooms and sauce on soggy bread. The main course was truly awful. The fish was clearly frozen with hard batter an rubbery fish. My wife's bake potato had been frozen and tasteless. I will never ever be back to this hotel again!!!

Struggled to get parked and really dingey car park especially at 1am. Checked in, not very pleasant man on reception and noticed immediately how run down the place is (almost a pay by the hour if you get my drift!!). Put into the last room on the top floor and the smell was disgusting. A mix of foist... Read more

We stayed at the Britannia airport hotel the night before flying to Turkey. It isn't the first time we have stayed at the hotel and it won't be the last. The hotel isn't a five star hotel but it is clean and comfortable with a nice sized room, decent sizes bathroom, kettle, television and lots of room to keep your clothes, which was a bit wasted on us for a one night stay. The hotel has a nice comfortable bar with friendly staff if you want to kick start off your holiday the night before flying.... Read more

We stayed overnight and booked the taxi service to and from the airport. We ate dinner in the evening and all of that was pretty good. The rooms are warm, clean and comfortable and the staff were helpful. On our return we decided to pop in for a drink and a bite to eat before our longish drive home. We ordered tea and soup. It took a good 10 minutes for the tea to arrive and then it was stewed. It was another 10 minutes before the soup arrived. It was cold. We sent it back and waited anot... Read more

Stayed the night before an early flight. Had a decent meal and drinks in the bar at reasonable prices. The bar area could do to be extended as struggled to get a table. The room was tired but clean. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The car parking spaces were quite narrow and had a tiny dint in our door from a not so careful driver. A bit worried the car would not be safe but all was well on our return. Hotel booked us taxis to and from the airport which were punctual and helpful. All in all... Read more

The hotel came as part of a park and fly deal with APH. The hotel is one of the ugliest buildings you've ever seen from the outside but it was fine for a short overnighter for our flight from the airport. The room was clean and tidy and was sufficient for what we wanted, the bed was reasonably comfy as well. We had all the usual things in our room. The one problem was that is was obviously a hotel that they used to let people smoke in prior to the ban and the smell of stale smoke lingered thro... Read more

We were there as part of a group on a coach for 3 nights. We seen lots of folk come and go as you might expect from an Airport Hotel. The hotel is on the edge of Town just off the motorway with lots of nearby eateries, cuple of shops and walks so you won't be isolated. Hotel reception and staff in general welcoming and freindly. Rooms are clean and tidy. Restraunt is buffet style for breakfast and most people's tastes will be satisfied. Dinner for our group was buffet as well and most of us... Read more

Where does one start? We booked here for one nights stay and to park our car for 14 days. In all fairness, it was pretty cheap. £102 to be precise. The hotel is located just off the M56 on the B5166. This is a very busy road night and day. We had a room facing the road and although on the top floor we realised that we had a choice, leave the window open & be kept awake by traffic noise or bake in the ridiculous heat of the room. Even with the window open, we still baked. This is because the win... Read more

Clean and tidy. Large double room. Opted for an inclusive evening meal and could choose from a menu. Good choices. £8 for a bottle of wine. £89 for up to 8 days parking, room and 3 course dinner. Yes it is a bit short of staff so service is not fantastic but those that are there try hard. You get what you pay for.

Stayed here on a two night mystery break with David Urquhart. Found out just before we went where we were going and having read some reviews I was very dubious. My fears were unfounded! Our room wasn't ready when we arrived but they gave us a complementary drink while we waited without any prompting which was a nice touch. We had a room on the 5th floor, which was large, clean and tidy and fairly modern. The bathroom was a bit dated but spotlessly clean. Non of our bus complained about their roo... Read more

We stayed at this hotel the night before travelling abroad and on return to the uk. Upon entering the hotel we immediately noticed how dated the hotel was, checked in, staff were acceptable. We stayed on the 7th floor, the rooms were unclean and extremely outdated. The windows do not block any noise. We went downstairs for something to eat, my partners lasagne was nice, the burgers are average at best. Hotel was expensive at £79.00 per night. Crowded and dirty. The room was very grubby with stains on seats. We stayed here for one night and could not wait to get out. The bed was uncomfortable and everyone in receptions was complaining about the hotel. Very noisy hotel with guests coming in at all times. Avoid at all costs, it is overpriced, run down and not a good experience.

We stayed for one night as we had a very early flight from Manchester airport. This hotel looks like a prison from the road, fences everywhere, gray forbidding concrete. The car parks were clearly designed a long time ago as the entrances, parking bays and ramps were all far too narrow for a modern car, even one the size of my Astra. No lighting on the top floor of the car park made for clumsy access too. Reception betrayed a theme that was reflected throughout the hotel - this building seems ... Read more

The bathroom a very different story. The bath had a dirty big stain in the bottom of it. Shower curtain was filthy. The toilet had a dirty mark inside it. The wood on the door facing was all rotten. Booked by 3rd party who obviously hates me! Full of noise, dirt, some refugees who were probably as relieved as me to get out of there. Feel sorry for the staff it is no reflection on them! Breakfast cold and hoards of bus tourists feasting as if it was the only meal ever, if you arrive at the airport go to the yellow phones to book the taxi transfer £10, only bonus happy hour and a pint for 1.80. I would not recommend this at 70 per night to anyone!

Stayed here night before we flew. Good points: Relatively cheap. Close to airport. Free onsite parking. Has bar and restaurant. Rooms were nice enough and clean. Points that some consider not so good: Hotel is a little bit tired. As its a cheap hotel there were a lot of work men staying there, who are working away from home. I think maybe the blokes in their work clothing at the bar gave the wrong impression of the hotel. Some of the guests probably looked a little more rough a... Read more

I wanted a clean cheap room for a night before a flight. This is exactly what I got. "Wifi cannot be guaranteed in the rooms", what they really should say is most rooms are so far away from the wifi source they are out of range. There is NO FREE WIFI in rooms. Apart from that everything else was as expected. Not of mould on the carpet as in photograph. Also room was cold. Transfers were interesting, both ways it was late, but again £6 return- you get what you pay for.
