Full of refugees!!!!!!! Felt totally unsafe and the only way to get out was to have to pay for another room at a nearby hotel!!!!!!! In total paid £110 for a substandard disgusting unsafe vile establishment. The lady receptionist was very polite and helpful but I worried about her safety too. Shouldn't be allowed to be booked!!!!!!!! Two women travelling alone and in here is NOT safe

Britannia airport hotel Manchester. Arrived 15th April, booked 8th January. Was not informed of the amount of refugees staying previous to arrival, nor that we could not use the dining room until trying to enter, had to sit in bar. Was not told that the evening dinner was restricted to Lasagne, beef burger, chicken burger or Italian chicken due to the influx of refugees. Asked for wake up call, did not receive it. If wife had not set alarm on her phone we would have over slept, and missed our fl... Read more

Not much point in reviewing this, it's clear from the other reviews that it's a terrible hotel. Its dated, dirty, damp and cold. Staff are under pressure and not very knowledgeable. Stayed for one night before an early flight including dinner and breakfast, parking and taxi to airport. Corridors were full of trays full of dirty pots from the day before, the restaurant service was slow and food was poor and overpriced. Breakfast was not ready before we left at 7.15 even though we were told it sta... Read more

Badly run, tired, leaking roof, awful food and a weird smell of cooking. Just dreadful. Staff were poorly trained. Struggling to see how it stays open. Hotel of last resort. Avoid. Feel v sorry for any refugees staying there. If could give no stars I would.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel before and after our recent holiday. The initial stay on the outward journey was in a very dated room on the first floor. The corridors and staircase up to the room all smelt of damp and were badly in need of renovation. The furniture in the room was very basic. Unfortunately for us, we had the family from hell arguing all night in the room next door which did not add anything to the experience. The inward journey saw us being allocated a far nicer room on ... Read more

This hotel was shocking. I arrived by an extremely bored looking receptionist who clearly didn't want to be there who threw my room key infront of me. When I went to my room I was greeted by the smell of damp, a closer look then revealed mould on the taps in the bath. I then rang for some room service to be told that I couldn't pay with my card so would have to go downstairs and collect it, which isn't room service. I ordered a cajun chicken burger which was like eating a piece of old leather ... Read more

We made a booking to stay in this hotel two weeks prior to the date of our intended stay. We selected the hotel because of its proximity to Manchester Airport. When we arrived at the hotel at 2am (we'd warned them of our late arrival in advance) we were greeted by the receptionist who advised us that "unfortunately" our booking no longer existed. When I confronted the hotel staff about this, I was told that it wasn't the staff's fault, which might technically be accurate. However it immediat... Read more

Well. My wife booked a hotel and park package through wowcher for ourselves and a family of four for a recent holiday to Turkey. On arrival (to park the car) I noticed a diverse range of people hanging around and entering/exiting the hotel. I thought nothing of it and my wife checked the cars in. The transfer that was offered was £20 for a mini bus which was fine. We had a great week away and returned to the hotel at 2am. The staff were friendly and for some reason suggested we should attend th... Read more

.We stayed here for 1 night. The room was small but the bed as a double even smaller. There was no hot water for bath or shower but there was in the sink. When I phoned about it was told it would be dealt with . But guess what no hot water the next morning,it seems the 3rd floor didn't have hot water. As for the breakfast it has to rate amongst the worst we have had anywhere. The sausages looked and tasted as though they were brought out every day for the last week.My husband asked to speak to ... What can I say? I arrived at reception with 3 guys behind the desk, and was promptly ignored. When one of them came forward to register me I leaned on the desk - big mistake! I stuck to it is was so dirty, it was like pulling my jacket off of a sheet of sellotape, disgusting!!! While I was being signed in I looked over to the bar which was full of local young team watching the football, not at all a welcoming sight to a decent hotel. I was pointed in the general direction of my room which was t... Read more

I stayed here due to ease of access. The welcome I received was minimal with no information on breakfast, check-out time or hotel facilities given. The room I was in was very hot and the decor was extremely dated - for the room cost my expectations were higher. I was awoken from 7am by doors consistently banging and what sounded like the rooms being cleaned - at 7am? The hotel was clean and accessible form the M6. I wouldn't stay there again.

We stayed overnight and were a bit worried due to so many negative reviews. We don't understand how anyone could have a problem with the hotel, all staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and comfortable and we had a great sleep. Would recommend to anyone.

So I booked a week before I was due to be in Manchester for work. And this was the closest, best location, and at the best price I could find. It looked ok because the pictures. I ticked that I'm a NON-SMOKER when booking. Arrived to quite a dodgy exterior, and when checking in had to actually say hello? to get an attention. One man looked toward another who was sitting down and busy doing something, as if to say checking in is not my job its his. Checked in, and was mortified by my room. I thou... Read more

The place is dated and needs refurbishment. The dining room is bare, lacks any atmosphere and the food average. The room was clean, but in the bathroom the mirror is over the toilet on a different wall from the wash basin. The plug in the bath would not left to let out the water. All in all a very poor place to stay.

My "Superior" executive room was just about OK. Nothing else was. All the public areas were dirty and the food was awful. Do not eat there not even for breakfast. Staff were not unpleasant but there was certainly no going the extra mile. Walking from my room to the lift past all the congealed trays of unappealing (and largely uneaten) food from the night before was not a good start to the day. The hotel smelled of urine and cooking fat.

I read recent reviews on this hotel so I was a bit concerned but decided to give it a chance as it holds special memories for me from back in the day when it ws The Post House Hotel. I can remember when this Hotel was in all its glory when owned by The Forte group of hotels infact my wife worked on reservations there back in the early 80s and we held our Wedding reception there in 1981. OK I knew that for many years this hotel was now a budget hotel and obviousley this is reflected in the price ... Read more

The food and service was awful! Waited 25 minutes for cutlery and 40 minutes for the starters. Tomato soup was tastless and my mushroom brushetta but it really was mushrooms and sauce on soggy bread. The main course was truly awful. The fish was clearly frozen with hard batter an rubbery fish. My wife's bake potato had been frozen and tasteless. I will never ever be back to this hotel again!!!

The car park is very secure and the staff very helpful. The rooms have been decorated well, carpets replaced and new TV system put in. The lifts have been replaced. The room service menu is simple but fairly priced. Glad to see this hotel getting back to its former glory. Great value for money and very clean.

We needed confirmation of our booking but it took a long time. We were kept holding on for far too long on an 0845 number which is a premium number and expensive. Hotels should not exploit guests like this. Any decent hotel should have a free number for guests calling them.

Hotel very basic but clean. Didn't eat in hotel. Hotel could do with some tlc. Booked the stay and fly, wouldn't do again, waited nearly an hour after landing at airport for taxi back to hotel, not a fault of hotel but the taxi company they use. Was an hour wasted when we could have been on road back to Glasgow. Hotel sufficient for a bed before early morning flight.

Stayed recently before a flight, hotel was fine, dated but clean, girl on reception was very helpful, great proximity to the airport, only downside it was a bit noisy, we were getting picked up at 2.30 to go to the airport, our room faced the motorway, even with windows closed there was quite a bit of noise, other guests were quite noisy too but not at a time I would deem unacceptable, Not their fault we were getting up so early, I would recommend if you have an early flight ask for a room in a ... Booked this hotel as it was at a reasonable price, and on a booking site said that they have a shuttle service. when I got at the airport found out that they have no shuttle but an agreement with a cab company which you have to pay for. But the hotel is clean and room was ideal for us 2 adults and 2 kids.

We stayed here when flying from Manchester airport. It was clean, tidy and very reasonably priced. My family of four stayed here comfortably. We parked our car here for the week and got a shuttle from the hotel to the terminal for £107 which I thought was great value. There is a restaurant and bar on site and the rooms are a similar standard to a premier Inn. I would definitely recommend it.

Very busy hotel, great deal for stay at £55 a night room only. It's one of things that 'you get what you pay for'. Room was clean and comfortable. Room was very hot with no air conditioning but I have learnt when staying at budget hotels to take a fan if you can (and I did). If paying for room only collect a breakfast voucher before midnight and a buffet breakfast will cost you £7. Great selection for breakfast and everything was piping hot. Really only used the hotel for a place to put my hea... Read more
