I stayed in this hotel for a night before flying to Spain. Arrived at the hotel and it looked impressive. Rooms were nice, clean and spacious, I had booked for a meal thinking it was going to be a romantic meal getting us into holiday mood. We arrived at the restaurant and the room was a waste. there was a huge room with a lovely bar but the meal was found to be less impressive, It turned out to be a buffet style meal with only four choice which was dry chicken on he bone. We stayed at the hotel before flying out from Manchester airport. The room & parking was very reasonable and the transfer was very convenient and economical. No problems with check in and the rooms were fine. Clean and well appointed. The family room was very spacious and comfortable. After a quick freshen up we had a delicious meal in the restaurant. The waiters were friendly and service was great. Four meals with a few drinks was well priced and we thoroughly enjoyed it all. We had a nightcap ... Read more

my grandparents stayed here the night before they flew from Manchester Airport. the reception staff were unhelpful & rude. my grandparents had initially booked to stay in the britannia hotel further down the road but were moved to this hotel after they had booked (this was no problem and they were informed of the move well in advance of their stay). my grandad had arranged transfers to the airport (to be included in the price of his stay). the reception staff told him he had not done this and mu... On arrival they say they have over 600 car parking places and they probably do however most are taken by people on holiday leaving parking tight and a nightmare at night. First impressions are everything so when you walk in and the staff are clearly chewing gum which is visible it's not a good start. My first room was tiny I could touch both walls with my arms out stretched with a single bed and dated furniture. As the first 2 nights where charged at £40 and an increasing price to to £135 on... Booked this hotel via Booking.com for our first weekend away to Manchester to meet friends. My mistake was to book a twin room instead of a double and didn't realise the error until we reached the room. Returned to reception to be told sorry too busy to swap and no rooms available.....fair enough we thought! Sat in the bar and went on booking.com site to see if we could get another hotel only to find booking.com was showing loads of rooms doubles and family rooms available. I queried this a... Read more

Stayed on a Saturday Night. Was busy with a wedding, so was dreading the noise. But we didn't get any! Slept very well. Beds hard but comfy, shower was excellent (256). Doors did bang a lot, but that is due to the heaviness of the fire doors. Breakfast was excellent. All in all a good stay. Would recommend.

We've just returned from a four day National Holidays coach trip to the North West visiting Liverpool, Chester and The Salford Quays. We were interested to see how the hotel was as the break was so cheap. Fantastic is the answer. The hotel was lovely, our room was spacious and very clean and the food was tasty. The drinks were reasonably priced. The hotel is used by people who use the airport so there was a bit of noise during the early hours and a disco but that did not bother us as our room ... Read more

Very poor hotel, very basic food, accommodation. Lift so small only fit one case and one person, not helpful. Car park NOT secure, I was going to leave my car but after doing some checks found a better secure location. Car park open to any public and not secure in any way. Hotel needs to be updated.

Went to a 70th birthday party, staff were amazing, the place was amazing! I didn't stay over, so I'm not sure what the rooms are like, but it is a very nice place and would consider staying over, lovely place and plenty of parking. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of the place.

We stayed here 20th June 2016, it was okay, the room was nice, bed wasn't that comfy, good job we were up early to get our flight. The hotel does a transfer but it's £6 per adult so we decided to book a local taxi, which was cheaper. Glad I was only here for a few hours, it was very basic.

Stayed overnight at this hotel while connecting between flights at Manchester airport. First impressions of the hotel on arrival were maintained throughout. A strong smell of smoke and beer in the reception are not family friendly. Discovering the lift was broken meant carrying cases up sticky stairs and through awkward fire doors. The tired appearance of the hotel continued to the rooms which were past their best. Staff members, especially in reception were efficient but not very courteous. ... Read more

Explained that I have health problems which cause extreme breathlessness. Stayed in hotel prior to early flight from Manchester airport. Booked as part of deal with airport parking. On arrival had to queue for quite a while to check in, then told lift not working, so had to carry all our luggage to the 3rd floor. Room was basic and dated but clean. There was a wedding reception downstairs with very loud music, this continued until 1am and kept us both awake. At least it was cheap and parking was at airport terminal. We won't be staying again.

It's hard to say nice things about the whole property when we only saw a room and didn't use the facilities. Nevertheless, room cleanliness is useful bench-mark to score the overall stay. Rather than waffle, I hope these pros and cons are useful. Positives; - Price. The room was averagely priced for what was a last minute booking. We paid less than £60 to be where we wanted to be. - Bed. Fairly comfy, pillows were good, spares were available. - Bathroom. minimally equipped, but clean. Neg... Read more

Read quite mixed reviews for various hotels, but settled on the Britannia Country House Hotel (there are other Britannia hotels) and wasn't disappointed. There are cars parked everywhere and you can barely even get one car up and down the very long laneway. It took me an hour to park the car last night. We drove up to the front doors then over to the parking lot but someone had parked at the end so I couldn't go around and there wasn't enough room to turn around. It is possibly the worst hotel i have stayed in, the room was dirty and very dated, the bed needed replacing as on 3 of the legs the castors had fallen off. it was very dim due to the very small window that was high up and overlooked a flat roof.
