I stayed one night as my normal hotel was full. I had booked with Booking.com and whilst I was checking in, the gentleman who was in front of me had turned up on spec and paid £13 less for the same room I'd booked a week earlier? My room was on the second floor and was sweltering. The radiator was turned off but cast iron pipes running round the room feeding it were almost too hot to touch. My TV remote wouldn't work and when I called Reception to complain about the heat and TV, I was told some... Read more

This is honestly one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. There was no queue at reception, yet it still took over 10 minutes to check in. Then I went onto the floor my room was on and was hit by a wall of heat. My room was like a sauna, I turned the thermostat to zero but the pipes still remained hot. I hand an awful night sleep due to the heat. Breakfast was very average, then it took me another 10 minutes to check out. I also forgot to mention that the hotel is extremely run down. I... Read more

Stayed here on business. I didn't get to sleep until 1am and was up at 4:45am with the constant banging of the radiator pipes despite my radiator being off and my general discomfort. The windows are single glazed and the car park was right next to me so it was very noisy until quite late and again in the early hours of the morning with car engines rumbling and people having conversations. There is no hotel information other than the menu in the rooms... And the fire drill. Walls are really thin ... Read more

OK so it was a reasonable rate for a one night stay so you should expect basic - so I write this with a comparative of Travel Lodge and the Premier Inn in mind. Room dark and dingy with limited facilities and toiletries; curtains were great however as they blocked out the light very well if you wanted a lie in. Main things that they could improve is their reception staff training - main chap on the desk looked flustered both when we checked in and out; was extremely slow and had a bit of a fig... Read more

Location in the centre of town is very good, the added bonus of free parking makes this an attractive option for a short stay. Our room was on the small side (as was the bed) a sliding window rattled a bit in the breeze and the constant opening and the regular opening and closing of a heavy fire door in the corridor right outside made me pessimistic of a peaceful night. However, we had a good night's sleep and were comfortable enough. This hotel could do with a makeover with slightly tired decor... Read more

Booked up this hotel as close to function rooms where we attended a private event. Location for the centre was quite superb (AND it has on site parking). We were welcomed and allocated Room 1 which was on the front. Although clean and tidy - decor somewhat dated and tired. Despite some minor issues - (only one cup, no tea bags, phone not attached) - which were all addressed very promptly, we were content until I tried to shower and there was no hot water. Staff were extremely responsive and... Read more

This was an incredibly disappointing hotel, and not what I would expect from a Ramada. The decor was very dated, the rooms were really quite small and the beds were small doubles and very flat with cheap mattresses. The rooms we stayed in looked nothing like the ones on here and were incredibly hot. The windows are single paned meaning noise was a problem at night. The staff we're not particularly professional in their manners and generally the whole experience of staying in this hotel was disa... Read more

This appears to be a hotel that the owners are trying to run well but are struggling to overcome the dated look. The staff were friendly enough and most areas look recently decorated (although some the carpets might not suit all tastes!) however you still can't escape the look and feel of stepping back to the 1980's in many of the fixtures and fittings. In the centre of the hotel there is a lovely courtyard and behind the hotel a decent sized private car park. My bedroom was very hot as, althou... Read more

Went to this hotel 4 years ago so we knew it was central to amenities. On booking in it went down hill fast. We arrived at 1.30 and told we would have to wait until 2 for check in, no problem we went for a look around. At check in we hadn't booked breakfast for our 2 nights stay so we decided to do so and at £5 per head thought that was not a bad price. The rooms a bed that wasn't a double more a queen so needless to say bad nights sleep, pillows really hard. Bathrooms toilets disgusting, grout... Read more

We stayed here for one night due to an event taking place locally. The hotel is quite dated and in need of a refurbishment. Staff in reception and in the bar area very friendly and helpful. BedRoom was of a good size and bed was comfortableand the bathroom was a nice size although the toilet situated by the door made opening & closing difficult. Coffee/ tea making facilities in the room although no milk was available during our stay.

Personally very disappointed. Stayed here in July, 3 couples who all booked together. First couple checked in and had a very large room (though very warm) on a different side of the hotel. Myself and the other couple checked in the next day, though paying the same rate per night our rooms were a lot smaller, wouldn't even say the beds were doubles, more like 4 foot beds. On checking in, the bedroom was not what I would call clean, the bathroom was dirty with a lot of dark grime along the shower.... Read more

As many other reviewers have said the hotel is badly in need of refurbishment. I'm surprised that a chain like Ramada have not done more, have Company Executives not visited recently, have they not seen it's rated 12 out of 12 hotels in Loughborough? The hotel has so much potential given it's town centre location, free parking and a ready customer stream from parents visiting their children at the University. Investment is needed in bringing the public areas and rooms up to the standards most pe... Read more

We were looking for a place to sleep for three nights but sleeping was impossible during the first night. The party next to our rooms went on all night. Apart from that the room of my friend wasn't cleaned properly. The bathroom was still dirty when we arrived in the evening. The dustbin hadn't been emptied. At least we got a small reduction on our bill when we pointed out that sleep wasn't possible the first night. I would have expected some excuse and the offer of a reduction from staff.

I stayed here for three nights with my daughter visiting the school games. The hotel is very shabby and dated. The bedroom was like a sauna, with stained carpet, holes in the curtains and partially dislodged from the track. 15 years since we last stayed here the hotel is showing its age and overdue a revamp. The staff were excellent and very helpful and attentive. We booked last minute and a standard double room bed and breakfast for 2 cost £65. The room was dated and I have slept on better beds but it was clean and tidy the breakfast was self service and we enjoyed it. I wouldn't be my first choice again but very handy for the centre of Loughborough it has its own car park which is free to residents.
