Booked a theatre trip to London to celebrate our anniversay and decided to book a hotel for the night. Chose The Trafalgar and couldn't have made a better choice. I don't think you could have a more central hotel, only 3 miniutes from Charing Cross station, with main line and underground trains, and a bus stop right outside the hotel. Our room had a view of Trafalgar Square and the Vista rooftop bar had wonderful views over London. Our room looked as though it had recently been refurbished an... Read more

This is right on Trafalger square and is in the center of all you wish to see. The rooms are comfortable and very clea. Beds are very nice and the rooms have A/C for those rare warm Genglish days. The staff vas very helpful--we arrived early and they went out of their way to get the room ready even before check in time. A good place to stay.

The rooms are awful and in need of deep cleaning and new furniture! The walls, carpet and bathroom floors were literally dirty! The bed was made using the same dirty sheets. I know they were dirty, because food crumbs were all over the sheets. The green chair was filled with dried white spots, scratched dressers, and a very hard bed that gave me a really sad face. The photos on the website are very misleading when so many other dirty elements are at work in the actual room. I don't know if it wa... Read more

Good welcome and very friendly concierge. The reception was a bit chaotic as there was a trainee and he need help! The room was spacious and the bathroom well equipped, BUT, the room was very, very hot and although we had the gauge on the lowest it could be. The bathroom fan did not seem to operate very well and so we melted. The hotel was efficient and friendly and cost were indicative for the area. Would we stay again, if the fans worked yes!

We spent 2 nights here last weekend. The location is perfect- within walking distance of everything you want to see or do. The room itself was fine- the bed was comfortable, the bath had nice amenities, and the room was on two levels, which made it feel smaller. Breakfast came with our rate- a cold buffet with a few hot choices and made-to-order eggs. The staff throughout the hotel were so nice and helpful. We would stay again.

The rooms are outdated, dirty carpet, dirty tiles in bathroom, NO AC working on weekend we arrived with 80 degrees weather, smell of chemical ( cleaning products), towels worn out, bathroom less than a two stars hotel. Oh, the price is over $ 500 per night !!! I wanted to move out but decided it is not worth the hassle last minute. Will never go back or recommend.

I have been lucky enough to stay at this hotel several times, including New Years Eve a couple of years ago. The location is perfect for central London. It's close to many of the main attractions and is on the doorstep of Trafalgar Square. It's a busy hotel, with a bustling bar area which doubles up as the restaurant for breakfast. Rooms are well equipped, clean and spacious. Staff are friendly and happy to help. I will definitely be back again.

Stayed here for 3 nights in early June. Convenient to theater district and Underground, but insanely chaotic neighborhood. Even with a top floor back facing room there is considerable street noise. Terrific staff and excellent breakfast. One of our favorite hotels since we were seeing several shows but there are quieter locations.

We were staying for 2 nights on business and selected a superior double room. (409) Although clean this was a tired room with a bathroom that reminded me of student accommodation. However the separate shower was good. The carpet was stained. The bed was large and comfortable. When I booked Hilton Trafalgar Square I didn't think that I would actually be on Trafalgar Square. We were actually right next door to Buckingham Palace. When traveling in Europe you never know how big the rooms are going to be, but our double/double was spacious. The bathroom was very nice too with separate tub and shower.

Right across from Trafalgar Square. So you can walk to a lot of the London attractions. Also has a tremendous rooftop bar with views of the city. It's pretty pricy but we were able to get a family of 4 in the double double room. It's not a huge room but it's not bad for being right in town.

This Hotel has the best Employee Service I have seen lately. However the condition of the Hotel as well as the Maintenance staff is a disservice to what could be a well located and historical convenient Hotel. With a complete refurbish and a new Maintenance team I would reccommend to all.

While this hotel is brilliantly sited for access to Theatreland, the other aspects of the Trafalgar experience are not so great. It is decidedly NOT up to the usual Hilton standard. Rooms are drab and cheaply furnished, and those at the back of the property look straight into an office block. The lobby and breakfast area are dusty and worn, and the carpets need a good cleaning. It feels like a mid-range travelling businessman' s hotel. A pity, because the staff are very friendly and helpful.

ok first off the bat: it is in an incredible location. you can walk in any direction and you will be in a desirable spot, whether for theater, sightseeing, museums, parks, you really couldn't find a more centrally located hotel. I've stayed in this hotel a few times, and this was probably the most disappointing. The room was in poor upkeep. The toilet roll bracket came off the wall, hot water was hit and miss, the light for the bathroom was yards away from the bath, and the room was horribly dusty (triggering my allergies). We stayed for 3 nights and found many details lacking in the hotel (maids didn't leave toiletries or coffee each day) and the bathroom was incredibly ugly and old. That said, I'm giving this hotel a 3 review score because most of the staff are exceptional (Carlo particularly and a young bar waitress from Greece) otherwise I would've scored lower. Add to this it's excellent central location and it all added up to a perfect stress free trip. The Vista rooftop lounge was just amazing.... And the ... Read more

Good, modern hotel in a great location - recent refurbishments have enhanced look and feel of the rooms. Good, efficient service and a bright atmosphere throughout, especially in the evening around the bar areas. Recommended.

This hotel is fabulously located for easy walking and underground access to the whole city. And on the whole, the staff is friendly and well meaning. But our week long stay had us encounter a series of little disappointments. Upon checking in, we noticed the lobby was slightly shabby with rips in the carpet.. Stains on the walls The rooms are actually a bit larger than average especially for such a centrally located hotel. But our room had no wifi. When we raised this with the front desk they... Read more

Overall, we had a great experience at this hotel. The location can't be beat - literally across the road from Trafalgar Square, and the tube station is just a tiny bit farther away. The room was clean and comfortable, but if you are looking for something really special for a special occasion, you might be disappointed with the stains on the carpet and grout in the bathroom. The bed was fine, but a bit hard if you're used to a nice mattress. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was a great hotel f... Read more

Let me start by saying the location is really good (right in the heart of Trafalgar Square). Equally, the service staff where also great and I cannot complain about the breakfast which was also very good. What lets this hotel down is the rooms, or at least the one I was in. This hotel is also part of Hilton and I decided to use Hilton Points to stay there. Bad mistake. This means you get a room nearly the lift and the door entrance leading to the rooms. It seems all of the rooms in this posi... Read more

Very pleased with location, right next to Charing Cross tube, and right next to Trafalgar Square and in ideal walking distance of everywhere we wanted to reach in our short stay at weekend. Reception very efficient and room ready on arrival at midday so felt very fortunate. Room was cosy facing offices at the back (we stayed for location not for view). Bathroom fine and plenty of free water available. Air con was fine. Bed ok but pillows were too soft so didnt have great sleep. Breakfast wa... Read more

We booked this two night stay on the Internet and requested parking. We had a special deal which included breakfast. The location is fantastic and its in the heart of London with all the Theatres around you. Shops galore and a real buzz. The highlight is the rooftop bar with views of the London Eye,Big Ben and lots more !!! The disappointing issue is the parking, we called the Hotel on the way up to London and asked about directions and the parking and it was only then the reception told us to... Read more

This hotel was the worst Hilton we ever stayed at. It was Dark and dirty. It is supposed to be renovated but no one told us before we got there. It looked like a hotel from the 1970's. If all you care about is location then it it very good. The furniture was old. The room had steps inside making it difficult to access the desk and lounge chair. The roof top bar was nice.

We stayed here for a weekend. The rooms are fine. The public spaces lack atmosphere and ambience. The bar prices are high, even for its location right on Trafalgar Square - we bought lower price cocktails at the Savoy. Breakfast was a bit shambolic - we asked for Earl grey tea and had to remind them 3 more times - then a waiter arrived with 2 mugs of the stuff followed by a waitress with two more - we only wanted one. It's OK but don't expect to be wowed or impressed. Compared to normal Hi... Read more

The Trafalgar Hotel is billed as a boutique hotel, when in reality it is a large (120+ rooms) chain hotel in a perfect location. Boutique normally implies small, friendly, quirky and individual. None of these apply here! Rooms are large, although ours was dark because it looked out over a courtyard and the neighbouring office block. I suspect this was better than street noise on the other side of the building. The bathroom was large, clean and had everything you would expect in a quality hotel.... Read more

Stayed here for a night with my husband as a treat. The staff were extremely friendly and the room was spotlessly clean. We had a suite overlooking Nelsons column which was a Lovely view. The roof bar was great and the offer of blankets to keep you warm a nice touch. We will definitely be coming back with the children.

Very dated room, smelt of fish. Was informed when booking that there would be a double sofabed, however, we had a single foldable bed which was uncomfortable. Having said that, all the staff were exceptionally helpful and courteous. I would rate this a 3* hotel. Just convenient for central London. Nothing special.

Cannot fault the location of this hotel and the veiw from our room was great. Unfortunately the room was very dated, the light switch for the bathroom was on the opposite end of the wall from the bathroom. If you ran the hot tap first you could only get hot water out of the cold tap, a bit tricky when having a shower. The air con only delivered cold air a bit awkward in October.

Stayed the The Trafalgar Hilton a couple of times on business. The plus points are that the location is perfect, the staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean. On the downside - the rooms are small and the bar / restaurant lacks personality. Luckily the wonderful Admiralty pub is right opposite!

The rooms are pretty nice, and the location is perfect for our business meetings. But their staff - specifically, the Front Desk Staff and the Duty Manager - have forgotten that its the customer that matters. I had reserved a room for the night before my actual arrival because I was getting into London early and needed to be able to get ready for a mid-morning meeting. While on desk agent found my reservation, he couldn't generate a room key. His colleague tried to make a key, but then told ... Read more

The rooms are tired with bathrooms that are outright depressing. Worse, you can literally hear the people in the rooms next to you talking and understand what they are saying. On the upside the location is good and the staff is friendly if somewhat disorganized. Oh, some of the food is good (fish and chips) and some of it is terrible (the burger).

I have stayed in multiple different areas around London, but this was my first time staying in the Trafalgar square area and it is by far my favorite. I will agree with some of the previous reviews that I hotel rooms are a little tired. I have never stayed in a chain hotel within London so I am not sure how that actually compares. I will say that the staff was excellent, they have roll away beds that are comfortable, the breakfast is very good, the bathroom was huge and again the location was pe... Read more

Came for drink in the rooftop bar overlooking Trafalgar Square, as we did the same last summer. Has become very expensive (cheapest white wine is £46 a bottle including compulsory service charge), and not great wine for the price. Food coming out also looked very average compared to previous year, so we didn't bother. Wont return

We enjoyed our visit to the roof top bar where you can easily watch life on the streets below. The main vantage point is Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery You can also see the London Eye. Big Ben and much more. Heaters, blankets and light available. We visited early evening so were able to select a prime spot to take out drinks. The mulled wine was good with cinnamon sticks. There is a 12.5% service charge applied. We didn't eat. I would imagine this gets very busy in the summer.

Had a fantastic trip to London and stayed right in the heart at Trafalgar Square. This Hilton property is perfectly located to do all the tourist things. Walking distance to many attractions and transportation. Staff was very friendly (especially concierge and doorman). Room was surprisingly large with updated bathroom. I would HIGHLY recommend this property for a stay. Bonus room overlooked the Square and Canada House!

A rather complicated check in process for a hilton member after already checking in on line. Having said that, the hotel has a fabulous location and most of the staff could not be more helpful. I was not impressed by the person who checked me in. I would stay here again but hope that my issues regarding the check in are reviewed. The food was great and the hotel very comfortable.
