This is a bustling fancy hotel with lots going on around the clock. Our room was very comfortable. The hotel has a different clientele than we're used to so maybe we were just a little too old fashioned to fit in. But the location is absolutely perfect and we were very comfortable.

The May Fair is a modernized version of its original 1927 classic. It retains its elegance and first-rate service, while being young and sleek. It's location in the heart of May Fair, yet off too-busy Piccadilly, is ideal. Once can walk to many London attractions from the hotel, and it's surrounded by many of London's finest eateries.

A very good hotel, well located with a vibrant bar and good food. The ambience is quite unique, with a feel good factor that is rare in the area. Staff and service are excellent and the Roman standards are very good. We like the hotel and have stayed there many times. It's a s pecial place

Where do I start. Hotel ? beautiful, staff really professional, friendly but not over the top. Check in really quick and officiant. We stayed in room 751 on the 7th floor, we asked for a quiet room so the view wasn??t that amazing, but the room was great. From fluffy lovely dressing gowns to coffee and tea facilities ? and this lovely comfortable bed. We have ordered room service as we were a bit too lazy to go downstairs and eat in the restaurant. The staff were all so friendly from the moment we arrived, coupling this with the luxurious soft surroundings it has a feeling of a home from home. The room was so spacious with a very comfortable bed and spotlessly clean. The breakfast at the hotel was superb, everything was fresh and nothing was too much trouble. I can be a particularly awkward breakfast guest due to an egg allergy but they were more than willing to accomadate me. I also eat dairy free so was very impressed to see a choice of ... Read more

We stayed for a midweek break to visit friends and had a concert nearby. This was a fantastic location so thought we would treat ourselves to a suite. It was a very jazzy to say the least with a lot of green. However it worked extremely well, was such a good size (especially for London) the woman on the desk at reception was so welcoming and humerus. There was a very long walk to our room around some very uneven hallway with random steps at some points which was a little disorienting when coming... Read more

I booked this hotel for my boyfriends birthday and was a bit disappointed with it considering its reputation. I had booked a queen room but on seeing it was his birthday they upgraded us to a room that was supposedly never available and in their words amazing. When we got to the room it was basic and certainly nothing special or what you would be expecting looking at pictures of the hotel or for the price you pay yet alone for a supposed upgrade to an 'amazing room'. The bed however was probably... Read more

So on this trip we were delighted, we had a fantastic deadly quiet room, with a HUGE comfy bed, a HUGE bathroom with grand design and our own living spa... Read more

Food is exceptional and the concierge is excellent!!! We arrived very late with 2 kids (11:30pm) and the concierge walked us to a restaraunt around the corner that was just closing and asked them to stay open for us to get a bite to eat. Wow!!! Absolutely beautiful hotel. Rooms are of an exceptional standard and beautifully maintained. Staff were polite and attentive at all times and always available to help with any query we had. We were pleasantly surprised to find a bottle of champagne and chocolate brownies waiting for us in our room as we were celebrating our 28 th wedding anniversary that evening . We felt very spoiled and we can't wait to return again.

Have stayed at the Mayfair many, many times. Love the hotel and the Mayfair bar but the restaurant has undergone changes that I hate. New staff new menu new everything and worse place I have ever eaten now. poor staffing, dire menu seating at breakfast is awful - so recommend the hotel but not the restaurant ( Mayfair bar mini sliders are lovely so try them instead with a cocktail)

Great hotel Spacious rooms Excellent location Fun lobby bar Great service Short walk from pretty much most main meeting points of the city When planning to hit the best restaurants in town, this one's less than a 5 minutes walk from Parc Chinois, Nobu Berkeley, Novikov and all the other great places London has to offer. Can't go wrong with this hotel whether on business or leisure travel. Prices are also average for that area; so not a ripoff by any means.

Hi, im a regular customer at the Mayfair Hotel, as recent as end of June 2016, and over the years I have noticed the hallway carpets slowly deteriorating to the point where they are now worn out and need urgent replacement as they are beginning to look tired and smell.... Putting this aside you still get a high level of customer service like valet parking, luggage room service, quality bed etc etc as you would expect from a 5* hotel...

I spent two nights here with my husband and although the hotel was lovely, I was a little disappointed. The room was pleasant, comfortable and had most of the amenities you would require. However, I expected the hotel to be rather more than 'pleasant'. The bar was nice enough, although I am not keen on a hotel who can not seat/accommodate hotel guests for a few drinks. Breakfast was nice but overpriced. It is a nice enough hotel but next time I will try somewhere else.

A good hotel... but not reaching the levels it seems to aim for. The staff are great... but the shine taken off with things like extremely slow/not working lifts, and a shower that is in urgent need of updating. Struggling to get the air conditioning on for 5 minutes, phoning reception - to find that they need to activate it on computer first? Never had that before anywhere I've stayed.... 'Do not disturb' button by the bed is a great idea.

Me and my partner recently took a trip here, as a surprise for my birthday! It was a lovely hotel and entrance, however the reaction we received made me feel awfully self conscious. We had been tracking around London for much of the day, taking in the sights, before we checked in. Entered the hotel, to be greeted (Happily, but with very judgey looks.) and checked in by a young trainee, who's looks at me throughout made me feel like I was a fly in his home! My first impression of the May Fair was excellent. Check in service was great, the staff was friendly, the room was spacious for London, the bathroom was modern, and the bed was comfortable. It had all the makings for a high end hotel for a business trip. Unfortunately, that was ruined by the ability to enjoy the rest of the property. More importantly, the bar. I have stayed at the Mayfair now 6-7 times this year and every time I check in I am asked "have you stayed at the May Fair before?" This alone is enough to show me that my regular custom is not acknowledged or valued by the hotel. If it happens again I will not be staying there again.

When you step in to Mayfair, it feels like any other premium hotel in Europe. However, once you experience the food and quality of service, you will realize this is THE PLACE to stay in (if you have the budget) during your visit to London. The rooms are clean and medium size, reception is helpful, concierge is very knowledgeable. But 2 things really impressed me about this place: breakfast and location! Will definitely stay here during my next visit :)

Most recent stay July 2016. This hotel has always been inconsistent (see previous review), but on this occasion it was consistently awful. Returning from dinner the first night the entire room reeked heavily of cigarette smoking billowing over from the room next door. The hotel's approach to this was to move us to another room rather than enforce their own no smoking policy. Room #2 was a garish suite - seemingly a proffered sop until the loud party next door got started. While escaping the... Read more

Honestly speaking I think the rates are ridiculously expensive, however I accept that London (and particularly Mayfair) isn't known for its cheapness! The room, for the price, was disappointing.
