Once again stayed at CP overnight on 16th May before a flight to Tobago from Gatwick. We book a rewards night room using our points accumulated by hubby through staying in Holiday Inn/Crowne Plaza....sadly they have now run out but we will continue to stay here when flying from Gatwick. Room was quite small compared to what we usually get put in but no matter because of the length of the stay. It was nice to see the new dining experience and we spent the evening in Bar92 which is really welcomi... Read more

Can't fault the hotel. Rooms clean, beds comfortable. Didn't eat here but menus looked varied. Would stay here again when flying from gatwick. Great staff. Used recommended abc cabs to go to a recommended Indian restaurant in horley. Felt that we were ripped off £12 one way. The meal was not up to expectation but managed to get a cheaper cab back £8.50

Overall the hotel is warm and friendly, and the food was freshly cooked,. The Club lounge could in prove the offering. The club rooms were comfortable and the Noise free rooms are a great idear, we were lucky to be upgrade to one these rooms. However the rooms were not 100% clean. The front desk start I spoke too to improve their English, customer service.

I often use IHG hotels as I like their rewards package. I stayed here for one night before traveling from Gatwick - very close to the airport. I read some of the reviews on here and was concerned and I almost cancelled it and rebooked it. Nice spacious twin room, lovely big modern bathroom with toiletries so was lovely not to break into the ones I bought for my holiday. Tea, coffee, Iron and hairdryer also in the room which is a lovely touch to make it home from home. Food was lovely and reasona... Read more

I've been staying at this hotel on and off for over 2 years and have never reviewed before, however, I though I'd share my thoughts and views. This hotel has undergone some major changes since my first visit. The biggest change was the removal of the pool to make way for the new restaurant / bar area. To be honest this was a most welcome change as the previous eating / drinking ares were rather drab and comparatively small by comparison. That said I much preferred swimming in this area as oppo... I stop in hotels a lot during the week, and this can be a bit demanding. I need to have a lot of information before and during my week. Some hotels find this a pain, but at this moment, I would like to point out that it wasn??t any trouble for Tracey and Steve at the Crown Plaza, they provide me with all the information that I needed and more. I would just like to thank you for your kindness. I will be stopping again, and I recommend others.

A farce from start to finish. I paid for a one night stay plus 8 days parking. Overall I found the staff there to be very rude, unprofessional and not at all trained in good customer service. I would have expected more at a Crowne Plaza. First of all, check in was very slow, receptionist seemed distracted. We paid extra on check in to upgrade to include breakfast as there was a special deal ?? however, the lady informed us of the wrong price which we only discovered on receiving the bill on c... I was thrilled to book a Gatwick Airport hotel 10 minutes away for such a great price. To get to our room we had to go up one elevator, walk across a long corridor and go down another elevator; kind of strange! There were leaks everywhere in the roof with multiple plastic containers along the floor catching the water. The room was very basic and faced ground-level parking, but the bathroom clearly had been recently updated and very nice. With this said, the staff was very pleasant and pre-arrang... Read more

Picked this hotel as it was 'middle of the road' in terms of price and included parking at the hotel. From the outside, it certainly didn't look like a 4* hotel but reception is lovely. Huge car park which was quite busy but found spaces we felt comfortable leaving the car for a week. Rooms were very small but functional. I name this review "Booger on the Shower Curtain" to represent the giant slimey booger someone left us on the shower curtain. Easy to miss by the cleaners, but still, missed all the same. The yellow beast made my boyfriend gag for at least 5 minutes before he could get in the shower. Stayed here whilst on a short trip to Crawley. Very nice hotel. Very clean rooms. Have stayed here on a few occasions and have previously had a much larger room, however on this occasion our room was very small. The only downside is the shower had very little pressure, other than this wouldn't fault the hotel. Two very nice bar areas to relax in.

Very disappointed in our stay at Crowne Plaza Crawley. Found the staff extremely rude and unhelpful. Breakfast served until 10:30am. We arrived down for breakfast at 9:30 and was greeted by a staff member who mocked us by saying "you'll be lucky if there's anything left but go for it" which wasn't said in a jokey manner. Took longer to get to the airport than I expected. The "shuttle" runs every 45 minutes and cost £6 for two. A taxi cost £10 and arrived in 3 minutes. The hotel was generally clean and spacious (by British standards at least). The bathroom was spotless and large. Our sense was that the menu in the food in the bar & restaurant was a little predictable. The much vaunted "English Breakfast" was pretty standard fair. Stayed here for one night prior to flying out in the morning as we have done on many occasions. One of the best in the area to be honest and you get a great deal with parking at APH. Such a nice hotel and staff and the rooms are usual ok, clean etc, some are better than others but its only for a night. The bar areas are great, they have just got rid of the pool and created a larger bar area with outside terrace which is great. We will be back.

Stayed here for the night before a very early flight from Gatwick. Check-in (10:30pm, Thursday evening in the summer) could have done with more staff. The room itself was very well appointed, even offering USB wall-plugs for easy charging of travelling tech. My main problem was noise - the walls are quite thin and travellers come and go at all hours, so don't expect a lot of sleep if you're a very light sleeper!

Five miles or so from the airport, the Crowne Plaza Gatwick Airport needs a taxi to get between itself and the terminal, or there is a shuttle bus at £3 a time. It is a useful and efficient stop-over for those who have morning flights out of Gatwick, or like us, live near Manchester long after the daily air shuttle between the two airports have (for some mysterious reason) been discontinued. The hotel itself is fine, maybe becoming a bit threadbare in spots. We booked through a discount second party, so for the price we paid, I shouldn't complain. Very good stay here last week. Worth the extra for a club room to get use of the club lounge. Room very spacious , nice and quiet too. Ate in restaurant, very good food at decent prices. Only small criticism is the lack of parking, otherwise it would get 10/10

We recently stayed at this hotel the night before we flew on holiday. It was recommended by a friend that we upgrade to an executive room which we did. The room looked very newly refurbished and it allowed us to use the executive lounge which entitled us to free snacks and drinks for a couple of hours in the evening. Also included was a continental breakfast. We also used the package whereby we had valet parking at the airport and this worked very well. We would definitely stay here again.

I booked and paid for this hotel for my wife who was travelling from Cyprus to work in London over the weekend. When paying for the room, I made the assumption this was a secured booking. However when my wife turned up from her flight at 0130 in the morning she was informed the room we had paid for was not available and the hotel was fully booked. Bearing in mind she was travelling alone in an unfamiliar area in the early hours, she was subsequently put in a taxi and taken 20 minutes away to a g... Read more

Web photos and enhancement made this property look very good. It is an older style hotel with updates. The staff were excellent, could not fault them,Meals also good but did feel that property had oversold itself. I had arranged an upgrade to a superior room and was surprised to find it was only about 1 meter larger than a standard. Its OK, maybe I ve fortgotten what London hotels are like !!

We stayed at the Crowne Plaza on a Friday/sat in October. We stayed in a standard room which was very clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and there were spare pillows in the cupboard ( always a plus for me). There was an ironing board/iron, safe, hairdryer, dressing gown, tea, coffee and biscuits, toiletries. You are able to get extra items at reception (e.g. Toothbrush and tooth paste). Staff were very welcoming and helpful . Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was good and... Read more

Disappointed with this hotel - initially all the photos showed a pool to relax in, which had apparently been removed the previous year. We booked 2 rooms and on arrival were at the opposite ends of the hotel despite this trip being for my two daughters and husband and I. The room was ok but not dazzling. I needed a stamp and asked if I could buy one in reception only to be told I had to gotosainsburys - (this should have been fairly basic for a hotel of this star rating) food - the meal for 4... Good location for business calls and close to the airport for flight home. Arrived and was advised my room would not be ready for 30 mins. Sat in the bar with a colleague whose room was ready. After 90 mins waiting went back to reception to have the same person deny that he had told my room would be ready in 30 mins. I asked to speak to a manager and was in my room within 5 mins. As an IHG spire member this not the kind of welcome I would have expected. This is an older hotel but the rooms hav... Read more

After a long day on the road we arrived at the hotel at 3pm to be told 'no parking available', and told to leave our luggage with the porter and park in Sainsbury's car park 5mins down the road( 10min walk) they would upgrade us for the inconvenience. Not really happy just for 1 night. We had booked a room as part of a very well priced hotel/parking deal when we flew from Gatwick to the Canaries as our return flight got in just before midnight. We arrived after midnight and received excellent service from the receptionist who also assisted us with carrying our luggage from the car to the lift. Our room was well equipped and comfortable and we enjoyed a good nights sleep. We didn't try breakfast at the hotel as we had made arrangements to eat elsewhere in Crwaley

I stayed here last night as part of a park and stay package. We had been on holiday and had a late arrival back to the Uk. We arrived at the hotel, parked out car up and then paid £10 for a taxi for the 4 of us to the airport (metro taxis). The hotel kept our car key whilst we were away. On return, (which was the early hours as our flight was delayed and then our bags were late to the baggage reclaim) we phoned to taxi company again and arrived within 15 minutes. We arrived and received no particular welcome. As a IHG member i usually received drinks vouchers and i got one but only for 1 and when i redeemed it i could only get house red or white or lager- i usually get a rose. I also usually get offered an upgrade. BEWARE, bar food has a 'discretionary' 10% service charge which is actually compulsory. Not a great experience.

I was not overly impressed with this hotel. I checked, dropped my bag in my room and headed back downstairs. The bar/restaurant area is actually really nice and the one real positive of this hotel. After going out for the evening (to work) I returned, had a few beers and headed to my very dated looking room. At this point, I noticed the smell, it was very unpleasant, so I headed down to reception to request a new room. Firstly I was told there were no other rooms available, I made it clear ... Read more

My fiancé and I booked the hotel with the car park package, for the first time and were surprised with the quality of the bedroom, everything was fine for what you need for a one night stay. The only downside, we made the mistake of having room service which cost £42 for two burgers, garlic bread, 1 Pepsi and 1 water. If you can I would suggest eating somewhere nearby. Staff were friendly when checking in and ordering our food. Overall, I would recommend the Crowne Plaza ???

This hotel is awful. The rooms are tiny. The evening are noisy and if the cleaners don't wake you up the deliveries will. The building is so old the heating/cooling system doesn't work and there is mold on the walls. It's dark and dingy. There has been a big investment in the bar area but it was needed in the rooms. Would never pay my own money to stay here.

The club lounge, previously, had a very relaxed welcoming atmosphere, a good choice of tappas and good quality beverages. This has been scaled back dramatically with only the choice of two tappas, and a couple of nibbles. The quality of the wine is poor, to say the least, poor service and no breakfast available a... Yes, it is a hotel airport insofar as it has all the characteristics. That is it has a parking deal, it is overheated, over priced, under staffed and has tatty and small rooms intended for one night only. And I am thankful that we stayed only one night even eschewing the chance to stay overnight on the return despite our flight landing at 11pm and facing a 2 hour drive home. This is not a 4 star hotel. Whilst it is comfortable enough for one night before travelling, it lets itself down badly by poor maintenance of the rooms which are fairly shabby. The money all goes into the reception and dining areas although meals are not exactly cheap. The staff bend over backwards to give good service despite the poor accommodation. It's also not very close to the airport and dropping your car and catching the bus will take up to an hour.
