Spent three nights here on a city break. Very disappointed with the room we were given (3rd floor), very small and not very clean. Dark, thick hairs everywhere and stains on the bed linnen and towels. Very low water pressure on our first morning, could not take a shower so decided to have breakfast first; a piece of toast with butter and lukewarm orange juice. I know that it's not a ***** property, but when you're charging 75 GBP a night, you should at least offer a comfortable bed and proper sh... Read more

When we first arrived in the hotel we thought it was ok for the price paid. Although, We were on the 4th floor the stairs are steep and there is no lift. The shower just has boiling water. On the 2nd night (we were there for 4) a mouse appeared from under the bed. We went to reception straight away and the receptionist (who was hanging out with friends and a little "out of it")was not one bit surprised and just gave us keys to a new room on the 3rd floor. The room was grand but the bathroom was ... Read more

The staff at the hotel is terrible, most of them speak very little English and are determined to be as unhelpful as possible. One of their receptionists actually hung up on me in the middle of the conversation because I was asking about refund policy. That's the problem-solvers they employ. If you really have to go, be very cautious as it looks like the kind of place that will rip you off if it can.

If I could give this hotel a negative rating, I would. When we arrived to the room I knew it wasn't going to be the best for the price but I was okay with that. I was not okay with the raunchy smell that I encountered, the hairs all over the bed as if they didn't change the sheets, and when I pulled down a blanket to use to put on the bed an used condom fell down with it. So many levels of disgusting. I went to the front desk and the clerk was nice and gave me new sheets and blankets. Gave me th... Read more

Please note this is a rating for service received only. While I did not stay overnight at the Oxford Hotel, I did have a very positive experience there. The treatment I received is a clear indicator that the hotel staff values people and their experience. When my phone died after a walk in the Kensington Gardens, I sat down on the curb outside the Oxford Hotel to charge my phone with my laptop. In the meantime I was kind of stuck trying to find where to go next for a quality dinner and the most... Read more
