I stayed at the London City Suites on the weekend and had a fantastic stay. the room was spotless well equipped and quiet. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the location convenient to the tube and good eateries. I will be recommending the hotel to my friends even my fussy mother!

Fantastic hotel. Rooms were spacious and luxurious, attention to detail was definitely the order of the day. Staff were amazing and the reception staff very quickly picked up that I was celebrating my birthday on the day of the stay and gave us a special treat, not just for the four of us staying at the hotel but for our three family members joining us to celebrate too.

We stated here for one night. We were really looking forward to our stay and arriving at the reception for the sister hotel our expectations were raised.the staff were excellent and the surroundings lovely. However when we arrived at our rooms over the road in the building for the city suites we felt the room did not live up to the 5 star status. The kitchen area felt like wasted space whilst the bedroom area was small. In the kitchen there was little to encourage you to use the facilities or se... Read more

We chose to stay here as a special birthday treat for our daughter. We booked two rooms, ours was downstairs facing the road & our daughter's was second floor. Ours was a double room but our daughter had a double with a little kitchen area. We all had areally good sleep and had no noise from outside. Beds on the soft side but very comfortable and we fell asleep no problem. Rooms were lovely with plenty of tea and coffee (and whole & sem-skimed milk!) and a well stocked mini bar. The robes a... I could not find any fault from the start to the finish of my stay. All of the staff I encountered were welcoming, polite, warm and friendly, efficient and approachable. A real credit to the hotel, particularly Valentina on reception who is just lovely. The hotel was very clean and tidy as a whole, and my room was immaculate. The bed was really luxurious and comfortable. Room service was delivered quickly and was very tasty. I would thoroughly recommend the hotel to anyone, and I would de... Read more

Stayed here for the weekend. Staff were welcoming and accommodating. Great central location- 5 min walk to Liverpool Street Station and Bank and Moorgate tube stops. Loads of places to eat at nearby. Room was light, clean and fresh, had an iron and board in the cupboard which came in handy. Bed and pillows were a highlight as they were so comfortable. Bathroom was also lovely a modern. Would definitely stay here again.

From the moment you arrive the staff are helping you with your luggage, check in was smooth, location was great, it was generally a truly lovely place to stay, i thought breakfast was quite expensive but most hotels are, we chose to find a little cafe for breakfast each morning. The staff at this hotel are fabulous, the room was on the whole lovely and clean, quality toiletries, mini bar, with fruit and snacks. If I was going to be a little picky I found the room a little on the small side and t... Read more

Nice superior room. Didn't go for the breakfast (£25 pp! I'd want my own live hen to produce a golden egg for that!). All mod cons and comfy bed. Other half said it was the best sleep in a hotel he's had for years. Only gripe was that I had to hold the kettle switch on to make it boil, and even after searching high and low, for the life of me couldn't work out how to turn the light over the mini bar off without taking the key card out of the wall! The Jugged Hare next door serving food and drin... Read more

Having worked in the industry you know what to look for and this hotel and it's staff are extremely competent. All enquiries to the concierge were dealt with in timely and friendly fashion, bags collected by the doorman and you are always met with a smile. Not being the most affluent person I did worry that the hotel may make me and my partner feel somewhat out of place, this was not the case. The atmosphere and graciousness of the staff truly eradicates and worries. An excellent hotel whateve... Read more

Stayed here as a couple for 3 nights and it was by far one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. My boyfriend booked it for my 21st birthday and we had balloons, banners, champagne and macaroons all placed in the room for when we arrived making it extremely special for my birthday. The rooms were cleaned daily and the breakfast was delightful. Staying in this hotel means that you are only ever around a 10 minute tube journey to most of central London or about 20 in a taxi. Such a beautiful, ... Read more

Having stayed in many West End quality hotels over many years, we decided to venture into the City area and were absolutely delighted with our choice of the London City Suites By Montcalm. On arrival at reception we were immediately bowled over by the wonderful ambience and friendliness of the hotel. Everyone we met delivered courtesy and first class service in a way that obviously stems from first class training. We were early for check-in but were assured that our bags would be in our room by ... Read more

We have been there for 2 nights and we had a very good experience. + Very nice staff - even if we were not directly dressed "5 star" (slayer shirt and camo short) - they did not make any difference. + Great location, just a few steps to the next frequent subway and a supermarket close by. + Room is very nice and clean - many light switches, took us a minute to turn out all lights on the first day :-) One neutral comment: The good things came for a price - on a normal rate it is what you can e... Having tried a few City hotels, with working away near The Gherkin, I have to say how delighted I am to find London City Suites. The price is comparable with more 3/4 star places, with 5 star quality rooms. Just a 10 minute walk or so from Liverpool Street Station, so very convenient. Tesco Express just down the road, and plenty of places to eat and drink in easy walking distance Huge room, with a super-comfy bed and a fantastic bathroom - big bath, rain shower and powerful hand held shower. The highlight for me was the reception service, both when checking in and out and looking after luggage etc. It was efficient, friendly and worthy of 5 stars. The room we had was clean, well equipped but quite dark as the windows were quite small. Remember this is a refurbished brewery and they've done a great job so I did not expect huge glass windows. The hotel bar is actually an attached pub called The Jugged Hare which has great atmosphere, great beers and not enough seats. Breakfast is ove... Read more

We took four rooms at the London City Suites and stayed across the road from the main hotel. The rooms were comfortable with a classy feel. The three ground floor rooms looked over an internal service courtyard. They are a little dark with subdued lighting and little daylight coming in. The positives though far outweigh this minor gripe. Quality throughout with a small kitchen, well stocked minbar, excellent bathroom and toiletries and one of the comfiest beds ever. All of our partly thoroughly ... Read more

Personally shown to room upon arrival. Very professional service, and the room has everything you could possibly need. Free wifi, numerous telephones including a smart phone with free internet etc. Mood lighting, large shower. This place has all the boxes ticked. Will be staying again.

Hotel s close to subway and many restaurants. Staff is friendly I had a very small room (attic), woth very small desk. Wifi fast, good A/C and windows could be opened. Unfortunately was not clean. Stains (blood?) and hairs on walls of bathroom. Waterbottle in minibar had been opened by earlier guest. I informed front desk. They promised to clean, but they didn't in the next six days. Very disappointing. Room was over 130 GBP / night, it doesnt have to be large, but should be clean!

Don't stay at the Brewery, less desirable and quite noisy. The City Suites are the same layout (a little bigger spacing as well) - and right across the street. Excellent staff, very motivated, the jugged hare is a great little venue for food and drink and the beds are really REALLY comfortable. They will try to pre-sell you the buffet for every day (no refunds) - it's a good buffet but pay the per day price in case you don't use it. I did have a few hiccups but they fixed them - and the l... Read more

Stayed here recently for my birthday. On arrival we were upgraded to a studio. The room itself was beautiful and the adjoining bathroom was great (the tub was big enough to swim in, with a rain shower head. The facilities were great and the location was fab - a short walk to the tube and shops etc. However, we could hear everything that was going on in the room next door, which let it down a little. Apart from that - a great stay.

First time stayed here as my other hotels were fully booked and it will be the last. It books as though these suites(?!) have been cobbled together in the tiniest rooms to maximise the Victorian terrace building there are in opposite the hotel. The rooms are very small with just a standard double bed - not a queen or King and the mattress is SOFT so much so that you just sink into the middle. You can hear everybody around you through the thin walls Air con rattles away. The double glazing are ch... Read more

Although the immediate area is not particularly interesting, the hotel is walking distance to 2 stops on the circle line. It is situated in an old brewery, a classic building. Some of the accommodation is located in an adjacent building across the street. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable but they are quite small. Having bathtubs in the bathroom is a kind of anachronism as nobody uses them and they are uncomfortable to use as showers, but the shower itself is very nice. If your room i... Read more

This is a very nice hotel, although slightly quirky. The suites are across the road from the main hotel and the bar/restaurant is in a pub in the same row but seperate from the main hotel. The arrangement comes as the hotel is converted town houses which adds a little charm. The rooms are small but fitted to a very high standard and very comfortable beds. One downside of the set-up is that the bar has to close at usual pub times (11pm) and there is only 'room service' in the lobby after that. I ... Read more

This hotel really does feel like a touch of luxury. The staff are very courteous and helpful, the rooms are nicely done and everything you could need is provided. We didn't have any food as the breakfast finishes quite early - but Cote across the road does a nice breakfast until 12. The hotel is very conveniently located near Barbican and Moorgate. If you book in advance the prices are very reasonable for the standard of accommodation in central London. There were a few negative points. We were... Read more
