I booked an afternoon tea as a treat for myself this afternoon and I had a very enjoyable moment! The staff is very nice and helpful, the food was amazing and one of the best tea I have had the pleasure to try here in London. Chef Halim made this experience even more enjoyable as he came to greet me personally and have a little chat with me. Thank you for this experience!

This was truly a really delightful experience. Thank you so much for making our birthday party special Your hospitality and attention to detail made us all feel very special. My sincere thanks to all the staff on the 1st Floor and to the chef who prepared a delicious tea Dione Mobley

The hotel has a very good position, near Lancaster Gate Tube Station. My room was very clean, but quite small, with a beautiful view of Hyde Park and the City. The breakfast was good, with a large variety of everything. The staff as ok. Wifi was free.

The Lancaster London was the highlight of our trip to Europe. The reception staff were very friendly and accommodating of all our needs. Sophia at reception was so charming and gave us great advice on restaurants and activities. One could not ask more from the doorman Sebastian whose service and knowledge of the city exceeded all our expectations. He was so helpful and efficient, he made us feel like royalty! Me, my husband and our two daughters treated ourselves to a short London trip. We chose this hotel because of the reviews and word of mouth. We had a wonderful time from the minute we got there. The staff greeted us and were friendly. Our rooms were next to each other with connecting doors and we had wonderful views of the parks. The rooms were luxurious and the bed was super king size and so comfortable. The breakfast was out of this world and catered for everyone. We will certainly stay... Read more

We cannot praise the restaurant staff enough, again most helpful and courteous. We also had snacks in the bar area where the staff were friendly and helpful. The service and quality of food was excellent at all times. The cleanliness and freshness of the hotel was noticeable on entry where you were always greeted with a smile and comment... Read more

Our first stay in London was a bit intimidating when it came to getting everywhere to see all of the sights. Not only did the front desk team help us with every tiny detail of our planning, but they did so with the utmost professionalism and congeniality. The rooms are absolutely spotless with amenities of which even I couldn't have thought. I will definitely be booking a room here when we come back next year.

Very well managed property!! Attentive staff - kind and helpful. When I checked the reception staff escorted me to the elevator! The lobby is what I would refer to as being typically British - lots of wood and slightly dark but inviting. The room was on the small size but the king size bed was very comfortable. Stayed again at the Lancaster for an event we ran here during the day and into the evening. Haven't been for some time and was pleasantly surprised at how the hotel has moved on. It used to be a bit tired, but has had a bit of a spruce up in the main areas and I can throughly recommend the conference facilities. Rooms are still a bit dated, but clean and comfortable and competitively priced for this London location.

I will review solely the afternoon tea since we did not stay for the night. The classic afternoon tea is a good value with the 25% discount, with scones our favorite. The only thing we disliked is the strawberry and rosewater panna cotta: the biscuit was too thin and the panna cotta had no taste.

My husband booked this as a birthday treat. He booked it thinking we would have luxurious rooms. How wrong we were.. The rooms are very dated, tired and shabby. The wallpaper was split and mouldy in room 627, the shower head very worn and stains on the chair that could easily have been cleaned by housekeeping. We went back to reception and showed them the photo's I'd taken. They moved us to another room, and whilst it was in better condition, it was still not what we felt we had paid £184.0... Read more

Rated as four star luxury accommodation, we thought that the Lancaster London sounded ideal for a quick ten day trip to London for our 50th anniversary. The hotel is in a great position, close to all the places you want to visit. Our room was lovely: the staff were extremely polite and the food was delicious. When I got home they had added something to my bill which I didn't owe. After contacting the hotel to query it, they promptly amended my bill; without argument. Extremely satisfied with everything about this hotel and will stay there again when I go to London.

5 minutes walk from Paddington Station, next to Kensington Gardens, a 20 minutes lovely walk across the park to the Albert Hall, on good bus and tube routes, friendly efficient staff, good restaurants and bars. Breakfast generous and tasty in a lovely room overlooking the park. Everything we need for a stay in London. Renovations on the very top floors did not affect our stay at all. We stay here every time we come to London.

The location, in front of Hyde Park, around the corner from a Central Line Tube station and just a stroll away from the shopping area at Oxford street, is perfect. All the staff, from the doorman to the reception ladies, to the personnel at the restaurants and even housekeeping, they all make you feel very welcome. The food is delicious, unfortunately the Thai restaurant was fully booked, but no doubt that it is wonderful, as was our dinner at the Island Grill. You should definitely have an afte... Read more

The Hotell has ok rooms, ok Thai restaurant, and ok location. It is situated relatively close to Heathrow, but not that much interesting around the area directly. Although the city center is not far away. Good for conferences.

This was not our first stay at the hotel, so when we were taken to our room we knew that the room was not of normal standard. There were issues with the heating as well. We complained to the manager and asked for a better room, and they immediately gave us an upgrade to compensate. The staff (including the cleaning staff) are friendly and very professional, and because of the way they dealt with our problem I would highly recommend the hotel. Not to mention that it's a stone's throw away from Hy... Read more

Attended hotel for Go-Ahead Awards ceremony . This was our second year attending this event and once again it was a great evening. The hotel is undergoing a refurbishment but this did not detract from the service provided or in any way affect our stay. The staff are welcoming and friendly. The room was clean and well equipped. The beds are very comfortable. We enjoyed a delicious meal at the awards ceremony and a very good breakfast the next morning. I had made a comment on a previous review rega... Read more

This hotel is under major renovation so the main entrance is very ugly and not welcoming at all. When we arrived on Friday 18th November there was no one to open the door for us or to help with our baggage. Reception is make shift and although the check in staff greeted us with a smile there was no offer of help to our room on the sixth floor she just pointed to the door way at the back of a large seating area and said that's where the lift is. We were given room 0615 and I can honestly say I've... Read more

Distinctly average. Majority of staff unfailingly polite but room for improvement with some elements of service needed. We ordered afternoon tea and had to ask 4 times for someone came to serve us. Bedroom dated, bath plug hole blocked so ended up ankle deep in water when I had a shower. Unbelievable that a hotel of allegedly this calibre still has an old fashioned hairdryer with no power whatsoever in the bathroom, decor tired and dated. When I came to settle my bill an additional £60 had been... Read more

Booked an upgrade to park view room, We could see the park if you looked around the corner, definitely not worth upgrading, we also thought the ordinary rooms were slightly bigger. The staff are extremely welcoming and very helpful. Good Base for Oxford street , Regents Street and Knightsbridge, all in walking distance or convenient tube station around the corner. Certainly not the best hotel in London but reasonably priced and very clean even though major refurb in progress.

We have often wished to find a hotel in London which we could revisit repeatedly. On our last visit we thought perhaps that The Lancaster could be it, because: -exceptional value, £140/night at weekend -proximity to Hyde Park Italian gardens, literally metres away from the most scenic area and must have better access than any other hotel, including Park Lane -very good staff -great Thai restaurant, the Nipa -right on a tube station -easy access to the shops in Oxford Street -five star service ... Stayed one night last week on business. The hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment and as a result the ambiance is a little chaotic. Staff all polite and extremely helpful. Have stayed before and would stay again at right price.

quite a nice though a little expensive hotel based at the north of Hyde Park London. A lot of roadworks happening when we stayed and was difficult to get to by taxi though Tube as fine. Although we had a superior room it was tired there was working going on everywhere to upgrade things. Breakfast was quite good costing £25 for a continental followed by one cooked off the menu Generally good but will be great once it's had it's referb.

Convenient location, located right next to the Lancaster gate underground station (central line), and only less than 10 minutes walk to the Paddington station including the Heathrow express. Very friendly and helpful stuff. Currently they have a temporary lobby as I guess the original one was under renovation. Room was comfortable. Free and smooth wifi.

Stayed at Lancaster London for 7 days last year in December 2015, the receptionist upgraded us to the executive floor with a very nice view and spacious room with a very comfortable bed and luxury amenities in this executive room. The receptionist upgraded us because she heard about our bad experience the year before so she decided to make it unforgettable. In all cases Lancaster Hotel is one of the best choices for your coming trip as Lancaster gate station just located at the corner of the hot... Read more

Came to London for the weekend for my birthday. The room was outdated and the bathroom was tiny. The toilet so close to the radiator that you burn your legs when using it. Overall the room was okay I guess. The breakfast on the other hand was awful! We paid £20 each for a cooked breakfast and when arriving there was only continental on the buffet and the cooked breakfast was brought to the table. When we sat down it took someone 10 minutes to ask us if we wanted any hot drinks and then another ... Read more

We only had the afternoon tea at the hotel, and it was a great experience. We spent several hours there and had a good time. The staff took very good care of the children including allergy concerns. They were very generous in bringing out the teas and the snacks. My son was very happy to see the tower of cakes and sandwiches and even more so when he realized the whole thing was only for him! Definitely recommended for a great afternoon tea experience.

I took the view that staff are having a difficult time and trying to be helpful in difficult circumstances. I had booked via company system and requested a quiet room (nothing in system advised work was ongoing). I checked in during afternoon to prep for a meeting and recalibrate quiet room given I could see work in hand...I was assured I had a quiet room on 5th floor away from floors being refurbished. After 30 mins I have in and went out as noise from refurb work made it impossible to concent... Read more

Stay here often as work nearby - I love the place from its feature in The Italian Job, but it feels tired and dated now. Refurb is underway - look forward to seeing how it turns out. The breakfast is always disappointing for the price but the size of rooms, and the views!! Makes up of it
