The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very nice and had a very nice view of the old apartments in Kensington. Breakfast was served. Also, the hotel was just a short walk from Kensington Palace where you could see where Kate Middleton and Prince William lived. It was also a very short walk from the tube where you could travel across the city to Westminster where you can see Big Ben and the London Eye and take river cruise on the Thames to the Tower of London

Good location, close to Hyde Park and a short walk from the tube. The hotel is not luxurious or particularly modern but has all the essentials and the public areas are bright and cheery. My room was tiny but clean, bright and well-equipped. The bed was ok; not especially comfortable but I slept fine. No fridge, but there were tea/coffee making facilities and the (free) wifi was good throughout my stay. The restaurant is ok - there are many better places to eat in the area but if you're just lo... We stayed for three nights while sightseeing around London. The hotel was in a good part of London opposite Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens, with the buses and tube easy to walk to and with a very regular service (our Oyster cards got used a lot!). All the hotel staff were very helpful and pleasant. We had room 611 on the top floor (we requested a quiet high floor room). The bedroom itself was a good size with a desk area, small table and chair, tea/coffee facilities, etc. The double bed was very c... Read more

We had booked for eight nights and upon arrival were allocated a room with a view of the sky! We then requested a room on a lower level, which was promptly found, only to look upon a brick wall, our third try after travelling from Paris, with a lot of luggage and very tired, was a room at the back, which we found to be very comfortable, with views across the roof tops, apart from all night lift noise! But as we had already complained twice, we then set about winning the staff over again, the bre... Read more

We spent 4 nights at this hotel. There were 3 of us and we got a room with 2 twin beds and another bed a bit narrower than a twin. The room was very nice. The beds were quite comfortable. There was a small round table with a couple of chairs. There was a cabinet door marked as a bar fridge, but unfortunately we only found out that the fridge was missing after we had gone out to M&S and bought drinks and food to keep in the fridge. They really should remove the sign from the cabinet door! ... Read more

I've stayed in this hotel 3 times over the last couple of years. Rooms generally a decent size. Quiet location. Once I had to ask to be moved because of the noise next door, staff happily moved us to a much nicer room on the top floor (I'd pay extra to stay in this room next time). Friends selected this hotel based upon proximity to two tube stations and price. Their basis for selecting the hotel was valid. The hotel has a helpful staff, good breakfasts, and proximity to two tube stations (8 block walk) and restaurants. But the beds, at least to American standards, are not good. In all I sat or slept on 3 beds because we were traveling as a group. So if sleeping comfort is important- I'd suggest another location.

This hotel has qualities, but it does also have disadvantages that really pulls down. First of all there are stairs everywhere. Even if you take the elevator, you have to climb stairs to get to the room. When we got to our room someone had smoked cigarettes there and we had no other choice than to ask for a new room. Our final room was ok, the service good and the staff is friendly, however stairs everywhere is really annoying.

Free Wifi Location felt pretty safe Cons Hotel located between two different subway stations, Queensway and Lancaster Gate making it not really close to either one. Caveat: All my room-related comments pertain to room #610; the hotel may have better or worse rooms. My wife and I stayed 5 nights at the hotel between June 17th and 22nd, on our very first visit to the UK. I'd chosen Lancaster Gate for its location - close to three train stations, a couple of bus stops, and Hyde Park. Although I wasn't misled by the 'professional wide-angle photo' of the room, I was disappointed to see, first hand, just how cramped our double room was. The tiny en suite bathro... Read more

A very nice well place hotel. Staff very nice and helpful. Breakfast can be a bit busy although we always got a table. Room was clean and well looked after. Reception was quite knowledgeable about London and provided us with a map with places marked up that we were interested in.. Wife and I would go there again

Accomodation fine. Breakfast slightly disorganised and fried eggs only available if ordered. Seem to need to queue before food replaced eg bacon ran out and had to wait. Second visit and will probably return as price was competitive.

Very good location, right by Hyde/Kennisinton Parks. But the facility is not good. They stuck us in the basement the first night and the room was not big enough to turn around in. The smell (musty) was so bad that I requested a move, so we were moved to the main floor, the route to get to our room was like going through a maze, up steps, down a hall, through a door and down steps then it split to stairs up or down, we had to go back up through another door and down the hall around the coner. I personally didn't have any issues with this hotel. It was centrally located near Hype Park & Kensington Castle & near the Queensway Underground station. The rooms were small but that was expected. The group received documents which included how hotels in Europe were set up. i.e. Nothing like US hotels. The hotel restaurant was decent. I thought that having what appeared to be baked beans for breakfast was a bit strange. But the dinner was actually good our first night. The hotel lobby was smal... Read more

Nice hotel and location. Good hotel to be based for business or leisure, close the the west end, £15 in a taxi, 5 min walk from Lancaster Gate tube. Reasonable pricing and friendly staff. Would recommend highly

The Lancaster is a lovely hotel very close to a tube station in central London, looks as great outside s it does in the photos, however the room we stayed in has not had an update since the 1980s. It was a great size room and the most powerful shower I have ever been in, but just a bit behind the times and in need of some TLC . Also the view from our room was a brick wall,

Hotel was ok, bed was very uncomfortable and couldn't get a beer when we got back as the bar was shut at 1am. Staff at check in were really nice, bar staff were not so friendly. Breakfast was passable although they left our tea on the side so it was stewed.

Moved to another room part way through our stay because the basement room we initially had was noisy. I could literally hear the hand dryer go off every time someone used the public bathroom downstairs Staff was excellent and very accommodating which made the stay positive In a quieter location near Hyde Park a bit out of the way from downtown London but there are a couple of underground stations nearby The room was clean and functional

This hotel is located near Hyde park and Kensingto gardens. Bus stop is just 150 meters away and 2 underground stations - Lancaster gate on one side and Queensway on the other are about 400-500m away. The location is quiet and upmarket and a few restaurants are located in the vicinity. The hotel has its own restaurant which is quite decent. The negative point was that there was no variation in the breakfast items served on all four days of our stay.

The door in our room was extremely faulty where you had to use extreme force to open or close the door to the toilet. This was causes by the uneven tiles in the toilet. One of the tiles in the room was jutting out which became really sharp. The paint on the door was coming of part by part. The floors of the hotel were sometimes uneven for some reason with bumps here and there. I had breakfast in the hotels eating area, it wasn't that bad but it was most of the time dirty with crumbs littering th... Read more

The room was located on the ground floor. The view was to the yard ‚?? right into an old ventilation. And the windows could not open. The bathroom looked nice but the shower was to short, so we had to stand with our backs in a weird position. There were noise all the time from ventilation and air-con and it sounded like we slept on a giant generator. Not very nice.

Aim to please. This hotel surprised us, excellent facilities, good size room and on suite . Tea/coffee in room, safe & hair dryer. Breakfasts were fresh with hot food as well as cold, eggs cooked to your liking on request. Seating a little to snug for my liking but he ho we enjoyed our stay. Thanks to the very helpful, friendly staff, they made it a memorable stay.
