The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very nice and had a very nice view of the old apartments in Kensington. Breakfast was served. Also, the hotel was just a short walk from Kensington Palace where you could see where Kate Middleton and Prince William lived. It was also a very short walk from the tube where you could travel across the city to Westminster where you can see Big Ben and the London Eye and take river cruise on the Thames to the Tower of London

Good location, close to Hyde Park and a short walk from the tube. The hotel is not luxurious or particularly modern but has all the essentials and the public areas are bright and cheery. My room was tiny but clean, bright and well-equipped. The bed was ok; not especially comfortable but I slept fine. No fridge, but there were tea/coffee making facilities and the (free) wifi was good throughout my stay. The restaurant is ok - there are many better places to eat in the area but if you're just lo... We stayed for three nights while sightseeing around London. The hotel was in a good part of London opposite Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens, with the buses and tube easy to walk to and with a very regular service (our Oyster cards got used a lot!). All the hotel staff were very helpful and pleasant. We had room 611 on the top floor (we requested a quiet high floor room). The bedroom itself was a good size with a desk area, small table and chair, tea/coffee facilities, etc. The double bed was very c... Read more

We had booked for eight nights and upon arrival were allocated a room with a view of the sky! We then requested a room on a lower level, which was promptly found, only to look upon a brick wall, our third try after travelling from Paris, with a lot of luggage and very tired, was a room at the back, which we found to be very comfortable, with views across the roof tops, apart from all night lift noise! But as we had already complained twice, we then set about winning the staff over again, the bre... Read more

We spent 4 nights at this hotel. There were 3 of us and we got a room with 2 twin beds and another bed a bit narrower than a twin. The room was very nice. The beds were quite comfortable. There was a small round table with a couple of chairs. There was a cabinet door marked as a bar fridge, but unfortunately we only found out that the fridge was missing after we had gone out to M&S and bought drinks and food to keep in the fridge. They really should remove the sign from the cabinet door! ... Read more

I spent 2 nights at the hotel. Comfortable beds, clean room. Convenient location to the tube station.i would recommend this hotel. The hotel also is near a market, physician office, bar/restaurant. An onsite restaurant is present, however I did not visit.

I've stayed in this hotel 3 times over the last couple of years. Rooms generally a decent size. Quiet location. Once I had to ask to be moved because of the noise next door, staff happily moved us to a much nicer room on the top floor (I'd pay extra to stay in this room next time). Breakfast nice and hot, lots of options.we enjoyed a few late night drinks and bar staff were friendly we didn't feel like they were pushing us out. Location is great literally right opposite Hyde park, 5 mins from a ... Read more

Friends selected this hotel based upon proximity to two tube stations and price. Their basis for selecting the hotel was valid. The hotel has a helpful staff, good breakfasts, and proximity to two tube stations (8 block walk) and restaurants. But the beds, at least to American standards, are not good. In all I sat or slept on 3 beds because we were traveling as a group. So if sleeping comfort is important- I'd suggest another location.

This hotel has qualities, but it does also have disadvantages that really pulls down. First of all there are stairs everywhere. Even if you take the elevator, you have to climb stairs to get to the room. When we got to our room someone had smoked cigarettes there and we had no other choice than to ask for a new room. Our final room was ok, the service good and the staff is friendly, however stairs everywhere is really annoying.

We stayed here for 3 nights and there were no complaints. It was clean and well kept. We were close to the tube and the bus. Also it was just across the street from Hyde Park and Kennsington Gardens. The staff was wonderful, we had an early tour one day, leaving before breakfast, and they packed us each a small meal to take. I'd definitely stay there again.

Hotel stay was decent. Pros Hotel has an older charm Located a block from Hyde park. Free Wifi Location felt pretty safe Cons Hotel located between two different subway stations, Queensway and Lancaster Gate making it not really close to either one. About a ten minute walk to either one. Hotel rooms are a bit outdated and could use a makeover. Hotel room was warm because the hotel had the air conditioners turned off and the windows in the rooms would only allow us to open them a few inches.... Read more

staff was efficient, helpful, and room was clean with large king size bed, which is not normal in London (most beds are double or twin size) Breakfast was included with the room, which was handy, and the staff there was great as well.

Clean room. Accommodating and very helpful staff. Delta airlines lost our luggage and we had a dress up event to attend. Delta was terrible to work with but the Hotel Staff made us feel welcome and did everything they could to help resolve and retrieve our luggage. Breakfast was included with the price. Rooms were spacious and clean. Hotel is in a great central location for all activities.

Caveat: All my room-related comments pertain to room #610; the hotel may have better or worse rooms. My wife and I stayed 5 nights at the hotel between June 17th and 22nd, on our very first visit to the UK. I'd chosen Lancaster Gate for its location - close to three train stations, a couple of bus stops, and Hyde Park. Although I wasn't misled by the 'professional wide-angle photo' of the room, I was disappointed to see, first hand, just how cramped our double room was. The tiny en suite bathro... Read more

After a long flight, this weary traveler wanted to sleep! This room had a super sized king bed that allowed both me and my husband to nap in comfort! We could have slept through dinner! The staff was so helpful, we stayed in and ate at one of their restaurants. Since we ate early, we were the only ones there! Such service! We spent three nights here with good friends. The location is good but the room was dark and smelled like cigarettes. We had to change the room. The shower was hard to figure out and the air conditioner was bad.The room was too warm so didn't sleep well. I think the hotel is overpriced and next time we're in London we will find another hotel.

Location great, rooms comfortable & staff helpful. I asked the manager to book me a taxi for a 1:30 PM pick up on the day of my departure. Much to my surprise, after spending five nights there, they insisted I pay £1 per bag to hold my bags since I had checked out, unbelievable. When I asked if they were serious, the desk attendant said the charge is mentioned in the hotel documents. I travel a lot, stay in various classes of hotels and have never run into this. I really loved staying at this hotel! It is almost directly across the street from Hyde Park and it is just around the corner from the Lancaster Gate Underground station, which is helpful because this hotel is not very close to a lot of the tourist destinations. There is also a small convenience store just before you get to the station, which is good for grabbing any small travel essentials. My wife and I stayed here recently for 1 night, having booked a room at the last minute. Our room was in the basement, and we found it to be adequate for our needs but it was quite cramped. We thought the bed was a little on the soft side and had a couple of rogue springs that fired off every now and then! But the room itself was quiet and we slept pretty well on the whole. Booked this as near Hyde Park for Take That concert. Booked with Superbreak and it did have mixed reviews but I have stayed in many London hotels and for a three star and the amount we paid it was excellent. In a quiet street with walking distance of Kensington Park Hyde Park and we walked to Notting Hill. Yes a que for breakfast on Sunday as hotel very busy but not a problem. Room clean and comfortable no issues reception staff very friendly. Would stay again.

Very friendly welcome for us. We were able to leave our bag at 11.00 as we were heading for a concert in Hyde Park. Quiet location and good sized comfortable room on ground floor. Doors on corridor a bit noisy but nothing too obtrusive. Good breakfast but be warned that there are queues after 9am as not enough free tables.

Good for proximity to Kensington Gardens area, just around the block from the garden walkways. Comfortable, quiet, reasonably priced (with airline fare package). Breakfast is 12.50 GBP unless you reserve a fare with breakfast included, but it's a generous buffet with typical eggs, protein, fruits, cereals, and lots of breads. Perfect for our trip!

We stayed at this Hotel twice, the first time we had a room in need of renovation. I know London is notorious for small rooms but ours was ridiculous. With two adults and two suitcases there was no room in the room to move. Bathroom tidy and small, need renovation. We were tucked away in the back corner of the hotel on 2nd floor.
