Booked this as had a meeting locally the day after. Arrived late but check in was smooth. Room was spacious and simple. Bed was very comfy, had a great night sleep. Didn't have brekkie so can't comment. Gym although small was well equipped with a variety of cardio and weights. Would stay here again

Really pleasingly unusual building. Contemporary in rural corner of Kent. Only watch out is restaurant closes at 9pm, so its a fair bar menu as an alternative. Happy hour 5 till 7 pm Mon-Fri which is great if you can make it. Less than £2 for branded beer, dont see that often !

We booked the hotel for a family event last weekend We had a great journey and arrived an hour early We attended reception and were told that our rooms were in fact ready. However as we weren't due to bookin until midday we were told that there is a £20 early booking charge unless we were members of the Holiday Inn IHG scheme Being fairly well travelled but not generally in holiday inns we were surprised at such a strange policy but joined the scheme anyway so we could book in for nothing ... Hotel ok to find post code is at least close by. On arrival you realise this is a newish purpose built hotel. Its very clean and modern. Room was compact but pleasant with modern decor. Food in restaurant was tasty and not over priced for portion size, it was busy as a coach party was dining but staff coped well. The only problem i had was a constant drone noise in the room, whether this was a joining room vent fan or an outside vent/heating system i don't know but i did have to don ear plugs to... Read more

I've visited this establishment twice this week; one for an early morning meeting during which we had breakfast, the other for an evening networking meeting. First Visit - Breakfast & drinks all acceptable and eat as much as you like as its self service. Second Visit - utilised the venues conferencing facility, there main room which can sit around c'180 guests. Venue: Easy access into Sittingbourne. I visited with a coach party. The bedroom was lovely although the glass walled bathroom was disconcerting. The bed was excellent and the choice of pillows a very good idea. Breakfast was satisfactory. For the evening meal the vegetarian option for the main course was mushroom risotto and I can say, without a doubt, that it was the very very worst risotto I have ever ever eaten and the worst vegetarian meal I have ever been offered in any hotel. Considering the meal was selected the night before... Read more

I was staying for my dad's funeral. We were not informed that that night was a college prom, hundreds of kids drunk everywhere, following morning a guest got violent, throwing knives and hot water at breakfast, he was pepper sprayed and 7 police took him away. Staff were amazing, especially the manageress, except the brunette bar server who was impatient and rude, as if asking her for a drink was a hassle. Food was beyond awful, for vegetarians options are abysmal, other food was stale, did not ... Read more

Stayed the night on Business and found the check in to be very efficient, the room was nice and the breakfast was first class with plenty of selection I see that some previous comments about the hotel and I can only speak as I find and found the Hotel to be nice, clean and the staff where pleasant and the only minor comment was one of the bar staff was not that engaging which is key skill when serving customers but overall I would certainly stay again

Not a pretty-pretty hotel, this was compensated by the spotlessly clean room, modern bathroom (even if we did have to pump the toilet flush button, a bit) and generally friendly and helpful staff. The exception was a bar-woman who failed to allow us a pre-dinner drink at the bar and led us straight to our dining table. The evening meal was excellent, well served and staff didn't 'hover'. Slight over-charge on the dinner bill, suggest not adding it to a room charge, but pay immediately and chec... Read more

This hotel gave us the two worst experiences ever. 1 - cancelling our wedding with only 6 months to go 2 - a birthday dining experience to forget 1 - we were offered a date by the hotel which although early fitted our plans. We accepted, paid deposit and proceeded to book and pay deposits on all third party suppliers. We then got wind that another wedding was already booked on the same day. We put this to the Coniston who assured us that we were their only booking on this date. 24 hours lat... Read more

A summary in case you don??t have time to read a lot. To stay at this hotel you will need your own lighting in the dining room, very warm clothing, a lot of patiences, very good earplugs and a desire to waste money. Staying in the hotel has been a very odd experience for me and certainly one that I will not repeat. The original building is apparently 60 years old, but the action happens in a relatively modern section. At first glance it looks modern, and one assumes, well designed and run. As... Read more

My husband and I stayed here the weekend of the Rambling Man Festival in Maidstone so it was a little more expensive like everywhere around there that weekend. We stayed for 3nights, we was greeted by the reception staff who explained everything and were very pleasant. We had a very large double bed it seemed like a queen size bed and was very comfy with the choice of soft or hard pillows which I thought was good. I could have very easily given this hotel a 5/5 rooms lovely quiet ideally situated for our needs whilst visiting. We attended a wedding whilst we were down and enjoyed that also so on that basis shall return when in sittingbourne if the prices are again suitable. My only real complaint is the public toilets behind reception were not what I expected to find. I used the toilet to find dried urine on the back of the seat so guessing hadn't been checked for a bit then when I came out of the cubicle... Read more

Modern looking reception and restaurant as you arrive from the car park. Friendly efficient staff at reception. Rooms nicely refurbished, although could do with better placed power plugs. Comfortable bed and very efficient air conditioning. Breakfast buffet very impressive. Good as a staging location for visiting the wider area. Very close to historic Faversham and quaint Whitstable, both well worth a visit.

Pleasantly surprised by this hotel, from the main road it looks ordinary but once you go round the back to the car park and reception it opens up and is very modern. Rooms well laid out and all the usual facilities, tea coffee tv ensuite etc. Comfy bed too. Didn't try the restaurant or stay for breakfast so can't comment on them.

Although I was upgraded to an executive room, I didn't see much difference to a standard. When I asked about the difference, I was told SIZE. Working desk is more a bookshelf , no room to work with a small laptop. Cleanliness defenitely needs to be improved. A second set of towels had to be requested although room was booked for 2 people. Minibar was there but not stocked and couldn't be used because of missing plug . Breakfast not worth the extra money we paid. Staff was very helpful and frie... Read more

Went for an executive room for a one night stay. Not bad but a weird glazed bathroom where you can see someone sitting on the loo! and a very slow filling cistern with 20mins between flushes. More like a Youth Hostel than an exec. room. Breakfast good, hot and varied, but at £95 why so expensive? It's just a mediocre typical chain hotel (but with a strange bathroom).

Just want to say a very big thank you to the wonderful David , manager at the Coniston, and his team for making my mother's 80th Birthday on Saturday evening run so smoothly . The room looked amazing and all the guests were catered for. He really was a great help. Breakfast the next day was lovely and David and Nicola ensured our large party had everything we required. I would recommend the hotel for future functions or family gatherings. Thank you .

This isn't a bad hotel, the rooms are nice and the food is good, the bar is a bit strange and feels very empty. The big downside for me was that on check in it wasn't acknowledged at all that I am spire elite level ihg rewards member which among other things means I should be offered an upgrade if one is available. I was not upgraded and when I asked was told they can't do it as all executive rooms are full, yet on the ihg app they were still offering executive rooms for sale all night, and for ... Read more

The hotel has a good sized car park which was very handy because I was here for my cousins wedding which was elsewhere. Basic room the carpet had a big stain on it. The bed were really comfortable which was a shame because we had this noise which was maybe the generator which made a noise all night long and seemed to get louder. Luckily enough I was only there for two nights. The dinner in the restaurant was average and we waited a very long time for. I had pizza which was not that great. Plea... Read more

We arrived early evening and we were given a very warm welcome from the receptionist. Our room 137 is large with the most amazing, huge bed and equally large bathroom. There is a fridge, safe, ironing facilities, soft fluffy dressing gowns and slippers. The Holiday Inn is very well situated to the towns restaurants, bars and shops. Breakfast was lovely with a great variety of cereals, hot breakfast, pastries, yogurts and fruits. I would recommend to family and friends.

We stayed here for one night and was impressed with the room and price. Our room had one of the largest beds in I have ever slept in. Didn't take the breakfast upgrade but looked good value. However we have visited again, this time for a 3 course Sunday roast dinner. Excellent value for money and a wide range to choose from.

Had a two night stay here recently in an exec room. Obviously wasn't originally a Holiday Inn as the layout and decor is way off brand but none the less this is a good place to stay with great sized bedrooms, nice bathrooms and a very modern feel. My only complaint would be the lack of desk type space to sit an work especially in an exec room...was a bit limited for me but thats a personal view. would stay again as Sittingbourne town centre is an easy walk from the hotel.

This is referred to as the bridal suite and it is larger with a separate bathroom with a central bath that could house a small family.
