Despite being under renovation we recently enjoyed a wonderful stay here. I booked the hotel in error, believing it to be the other Holiday Inn in Bloomsbury which is near to an underground station. We needn't have worried as there are several bus stops nearby which will take you all over London. (63, 48, 19, 341) Do a bit of homework and you'll find bus travel a very pleasant mode of transport. We were checked in and out by the very professional Angelo. Indeed all the staff that we encountered ... Read more

So we had 2 rooms booked, 4 of us celebrating my sisters birthday, we'd stayed here before so knew what to expect, we were checked in early, which was fantastic, we then had a few drinks in our neighbouring, freshly refurbished and very stylish rooms before heading out. Had 2 nights bed and breakfast, before returning home on 16/5/16 Only to realise a few days later that I hadn't unpacked my bag of jewellery. Now don't get me wrong, their wasn't anything extremely expensive in it, but there we... Read more

Really great stay for two nights. We had a newly renovated room on the 7th Floor with views of the London skyline, the Shard, St Paul's etc. Quiet room with two very comfortable double beds, free wifi and breakfast included. The free water, juice and kit Kat in the mini bar was a nice touch. The hotel is under renovation but don't let that put you off as it didn't affect our stay. There is a gym and pool with spa but we didn't have time to use them. The location is good although a 15 min walk fr... Read more

The fire alarm went off 3 times between 3.30-4.30 am, a fault in the system apparently. Lifts were unavailable, even when I checked out at 8am. I don't blame the staff but there seemed no system in place to call out an engineer; they were still waiting for one at 8am. The management need to address this as it wa so disruptive to everyone's stay

Just stayed for one night. Had one of the refurbished rooms which are stylish and luxurious. Extremely comfortable bed but we were disturbed three times during the night by a faulty fire alarm. Really enjoyed the swimming pool, sauna and jaccussi. Though there is a small extra charge it is well worth it. Superb buffet style breakfast and fine dining in the evening. All in all an enjoyable stay.

Rooms are very pleasant; clean and comfortable. Hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment works, this was not pointed out when we made our reservation, however in fairness we were not inconvenienced at all. The hotel is marketed as Holiday Inn Kings Cross; it is in Kings Cross road but is a good 10-15 minute walk from Kings Cross station. The immediate area appears rather soulless, however a short (5 min) walk to Grays Inn Road or Lambs Conduit Street and you have a plethora of very appealing ... Read more

We got an excellent deal on this for £70 for one night's stay - probably because we were staying on a Sunday night. As we were in London to see a show at Wembley, we arrived really early (they were still checking people out). They confirmed our booking but said we had to come back after 2pm to check in. Once I explained we'd be back really late, they checked us in as much as was possible and said we should get our key cards from reception when we came back. We got back around 11:40pm, and our ... The hotel is fine, a little tired but they are in the process of renovations. The room was clean, modern and recently updated. Breakfast was fine, dining room very busy. No real issues with anything apart from the fact it's called Holiday Inn Kings Cross Bloomsbury, however it is a good 12 min walk to Kings Cross. There are no other tubes nearby and taxi rank always seemed to be lacking in taxis! Because of this, we probably will choose another hotel next time. We did choose this one because it ... Read more

Whilst, in general, this hotel is functional despite the construction work. The restaurant service is its Achilles heel. It is slow to the point of being funereal. The staff are in attentive and oblivious to the needs of the customers. The bar staff have mastered making "old fashioneds" in under a minute and the food is mediocre. Not at all impressed. This was on a night when there were 8 customers in the restaurant. The other guests must have tried it before!

Unfortunately this hotel isn't really fit for purpose at the moment - it is a building site. As a result there is a simply intolerable amount of noise from early in the morning until evening which means you just cannot spend any time in the rooms. This is a problem when you have planned to work there, sit with your family or actually do anything. No advance notice of this either. It may be nice when it's finished but avoid until then.

This is the sixth and final stop of our tour group. Stayed here for two nights. We were told that it was located in a not so nice neighborhood but we did not notice it until our last (second) afternoon that we heard a racket. Apparently, someone was trying to rob the store across the street. I was in that store 10 minutes earlier to buy bottled water. The breakfast was good and the front desk staff was friendly. The bartender was nice and had a small chat with us.

the hotel is in midst of renovation. routinely had to wait 10-15 minutes just to get on an elevator that wasn't full. the ground floor lobby is tiny, stuffy, with low ceilings. overall it has a low-budget atmosphere, with beat-up furnishings. go somewhere else, there are better options.

Great location within a brisk 15 min walk from Kings Cross or Farringdon station. I've stayed here on many occasions and it's always good. The rooms are being redecorated and are stylish and comfortable. The staff are always helpful and attentive. Join the HIG rewards scheme and you build up points on each occasion. Room service is also good with a reasonable me u to choose from.

I got this hotel from one of the bidding websites. I was very impressed by the hotel. All the staff were very nice, and helpful. They have a pub downstairs so I was able to get a pint late at night!! The area was nice, we went walking around the area before we took the train to Paris. I picked this area because of the closeness to the Eurostar Station, and it was easily walkable with luggage. Room was nice size and clean with a little refrigerator. I asked the front desk where I could get... Read more

I have stayed int his hotel on-off for the last 12 months for business. While I have been happy until now, I have to admit that the last 4 weeks have really put me off this place. The building works have been going on pretty much the whole time I have been here and I appreciate that this needs to happen. What I do not appreciate is that the hotel staff do not bother telling their guests when there are planned works such as water being cut off. This happened twice during my stay. The first time ... Breakfast was really tasty with a good selection to suit everybody. About a 10/15 minute walk from Kings Cross and within walking distance to some really nice pubs and restaurants. Staff were helpful with any queries we had. Only minus i would give is the fire alarm going off twice in the middle of the night due to a fault, on... Read more

Stayed here for 2 nights last week when I was visiting London for my birthday. Must admit we booked here to stay as it was very reasonably priced compared to some places, but really glad that we did. There is a lot of construction work going on as they are changing into a Crowne Plaza, but this didn't ruin the stay as it was only during daytime hours.
