We stayed 5 nights at this hotel and found it to be clean, quiet, and reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was adequate but not exciting. We loved the location, near the Borough Market and Tower of London. The room was comfortable and a nice size. One word of warning to women- the lighting in the room and bathroom are very poor for putting on makeup. All in all a good experience and fair price for London. We will stay here again!

Conveniently located. 300m from southwark tube station, 100m from river bank. For good restaurant selection, may need to walk across the bridge to the north bank. Room is clean but on the simplistic side. Could use a bigger table for basic biz task that requires more than a laptop, a power outlet by bedside, and a better sofa. Has hot breakfast but selection is limited.

The hotel is a short distance walk from the Southwark Station and is accessible to most London attractions like London Eye, London Dungeon, Shrek, Parliament building and Westminster Abbey. You may reach these tourist spots either by bus or by 20 minute walk. The room we stayed in was at the 5th floor. It was awesome. The bed was pleasant to sleep on. The bathroom tiles were seemed newly refurbish. It was very clean. Most of all the room is free from any funny smell. However, the food we saw dur... Read more

This hotel is typical of all holiday inn express. There were two issues we had. One is the inability to print out your own boarding passes. You had to forward the information to their printer. Second issue is the breakfast. The first day we go now at 7:30 am and both coffee makers weren't working properly, milk dispenser was empty and when we informed the staff that worked at the breakfast area she was rude.

Stayed in this hotel to go to a show at the ITV studios. Location was perfect for this purpose and was also good within easy walking distance of Southwark tube station to go elsewhere. A perfectly utilitarian hotel. Check in was simple, except the lift wasn't working involving convoluted instructions on how to get to my room by the other lifts (I took the stairs). Room was a reasonable size with shower (no bath, which is my preference anyway). Breakfast was very basic. Would probably give more stars if I had paid £80-100,which is about what it's worth.

The rooms are old and tired, the air conditioning was broken and to cap it all, there was no hot water in the morning. Reception staff very friendly but refused to get the manager as she was 'very busy'. Avoid like the plague.

I stayed here on business for 3 nights and was horrified when my taxi pulled up outside as there was that much scaffolding and building work it looked like the hotel was actually closed. We recently completed a four night stay here and found the hotel to be a good value. It is in a convenient location close to the tube and walkable to some site-seeing attractions such as the Tate Modern, Borough Market and Shakespeare??s Globe. The room was clean, reasonably modern and included a free breakfast that had a variety of choices. There was some renovation work being done at the hotel during our stay but we didn't hear anything or experience any inconvenience because of it.

This was close to the subway so very convenient. Breakfast was included in the booking. Unfortunately the hotel is undergoing massive renovations so we actually could have walked straight past the bulding not realising it was a hotel. The room was comfortable and the interior welcoming. Staff were professional but perhaps a little awkward on the reception area.

As this hotel was undergoing refurbishments while we were there, we found access was a little difficult for our aged bones. The room was as expected for an HI Express, comfortable and functional. As we were in town for a family celebration, it met our needs perfectly. The room was very quiet, given that the hotel is on a main thoroughfare, triple glazing worked and there was no disturbance form other guests. The en suite facilities were more than adequate. The buffet breakfast was a little ... Read more
